I saw Steven when he made a quick stop into a local store. He was in front of me as we were walking to our cars. A guy walking toward him shouted out his name. Steven was so kind to say hello to this fan. He turned and looked my direction. I gave him a nod, smiled wide and headed home. He was not prideful or arrogant. So good to see a singer who loves the Lord and is humble. I enjoy Steven's way of telling a story through his singing.
Both SCC and MWS came to our State Fair at different times. Both just requested to be called by their first names. They are both truly humble people. What examples to be.
This God-fearing man, has for decades created God inspired music that has changed the lives of thousands of people, including me. Thank you, SCC for your words of wisdom and music.

I have not met one who wasn't like that,They have been so Humble and Kind I have not ever had the honor of meeting Steven,I have loved him since I first heard "More to this Life in the late 80s.He is one of My Favorites. His wife Mary Beth seems so sweet also.His music just touches your and speaks Truth to your Heart and Spirit.

Yet, it has been through tremendous hardships that these incredible songs have come. Can’t have one without the other. Knew Steve from college and have followed him since. Cannot scurry’s in words the impact his music has had! Thank you Steve for 36 years of faithful ministry and music!

It is so nice to see a Christian artist such as yourself, really show that regardless of our status in life, what we do, who we are, etc. We are still the same regardless. The Bible says the rain falls on the just and the unjust. It takes a lifetime to understand some of God's principles. And even then it's just a taste. God is great and He truly is the Great I Am. I am reminded of something that might be a recurring thought, it is the scripture about ..'much being required'.. it seems that those with the fullest lives and the same type of ministry, very full and far-reaching.. have suffered the greatest pain and loss,-I have not yet seen that not play out- and not be repeated.. although not all of those functioning at that level of ministry.. and responsibility-, are well known, but like Abraham on Mount Moriah with Isaac.. once again it is unmistakable-,that God requires much.. from those He rewards.. in whatever way those rewards come. I cannot imagine the type of trauma that Steven and his wife Mary Beth have endured.. at the hands of that loss.. that he's referred to.. not to mention, his son.. who was involved in that tragic loss situation.. I can only imagine the trauma that young man had to recover from.. MaryBeth wrote a book about that situation-, and their life.. I did not read it.. I wonder if she spoke of her son's tragedy-,being involved in that situation- in that book. My heart goes out to them. However it is also unmistakeable, that Steven's courage and willingness to shoulder that pain- in bearing that loss.. while continuing to force a brave smile.. and praise the Lord- ..is characteristic of the type of people that Yahweh picks to carry His cross- through these burdens.. it might be blasphemous for me to say this, - and it does concern me that I'm thinking it.. but I do not envy Steven Curtis Chapman that position in life- in view of the level of pain he has endured, as the result- although,.. and of course.. I do admire him greatly, and respect him immensely-, as a brother in the Lord- for his spiritual and emotional maturity , and courage.
