Alex Kendrick is living proof that God can use obedient people to accomplish the seemingly impossible. How can he and the pastors of a small Georgia church produce, direct and market one movie-much less four theatrical released films- that keep impacting the lives of millions of people.
In this I am Second film Alex details the incredible story of how God worked to create and distribute the movies. He also reveals how God was convicting him in many of the same areas as the movie topics. His dilemma-if he could be obedient in making movies for God, could he also be obedient in making changes in his life, too?
Coming here after having watched Overcomer last night. I love the Kendrick Brother's. They're movie's are always spot-on. Full of The TRUTH! And THAT is what this world needs. ♥️♥️

Love their movies, cried during Giants and Courageous spoke to me b/c I have a non existing father in my life and so that movie told me that God is my Father and a better one, dream of mine is to be in one of their movies or a Christian movie
I too want to be in their movies. It inspired me so to seek GOD and finally met JESUS.

My family has enjoyed all of your movies. I believe if you guys cold produce a movie based on John Bevere's book, Rescued, it could radically change our churches across this nation. More often than not, Christians sit around being passive instead of standing strong and being proactive on issues such as abortion and homosexuality. They "go to church" instead of BEING the Church where Christ is the Head. This story will certainly make you think. And Mr. Kendrick, if your facing these "giants" in your marriage and in your life, then Your Father must be doing something huge in you. I experienced losing the use of my arm and my baby going through open-heart surgery, and both have become the pivotal points of my Christian walk. Be strong and courageous because He is with you (Joshua 1:9). Thank you for sharing your movies with the world.

My family loves your movies (we have them all). My husband is an architect and works 7am until midnight on most days. He also works weekends. Our 2 young children and I rarely get to spend time with him. We are praying to get jobs that will allow us to have more time together. Finances are a big struggle. I would love to see a film about finances in college, marriage, and retirement stages in life. I started to write a script, but would love to see a film from you guys about this.

I loved all the movies! They changed my life. How about a baseball movie? About how Our faith isn't a sprint it's a marathon!
All around us. The ones who go through heart breaking agony, pain, loss, despair and lack of hope, with only faith to strengthen them, to silently fulfil their duties (pumping gas, serving food, running companies, policing, healing .. and more) so that we can live our lives.
And us, when we do the same.

Thank you for sharing your story. I somewhat can relate to your story. I don't make movies. I love to write though. But it took me a while to realize God is teaching me things about myself and others in whatever situation I am, and I seemed to a lot in my life fight it, when I should not fight it, but embrace and be peaceful, grab on to His Grace and Strength and learn and grow and Trust in Him. It is not easy. But everything God does is good. Something good will come out of it with God leading our way. Our path to hoilness, saints. Have Mercy on me Jesus.
This Guy Played On 4 , 5 Movies. The Only Two I Can Think Of Are Facing The Giants and Courageous.
I would answer God this way That I would take the Hard way so I could gain more Fruit and I have taken that way But my Faith has not diminished because I know he is walking beside me all the way each day. I also am second but live Jesus Jesus Jesus till the day I die.

Facing The Giants and Courageous are my top movies but I still have not seen Fireproof
I'm not gonna lie, I'm one of Alex Kendrick's biggest critics. I'm the type that makes fun of his movies for being too cheesy, preachy and poorly acted (though, the acting has somewhat improved over the past few movies). After seeing this video, I hope that God changes my heart towards this ministry. I appreciate Alex and his willingness to honor Jesus Christ with his work and his honesty to tell us his story. Thanks. You have my prayers.

Alex I have been touched by your movies more than you could imagine. But I think it would be great if you made a movie about a guy who struggles with the past of being an addict and growing up around being racist then changes his life an giving it to the lord I have an amazing story from the same situation an i believe if people saw a great movie about it that it could change some lives
God is still growing you. He doesn't want you to play it safe. Don't make movies that are labelled Christian", which are seen as being out of touch, poorly written and acted, and marketed only to Christian audiences. Go back to your roots. Get raw. If you need help, reach out. You are being used for amazing things. The Love Dare is one such thing. Marriages are being saved because of this book. Thank you for writing it and sharing God's work in marriage and family. Many blessings to you.

Try also watching the movie "The Grace Card". Another movie that the Lord is using to convict hearts and to show the power of forgiveness.

@civilengineeringtech - I can understand your viewpoint (I am single, too). It is kind of hard to see all this "married" and "relationship" and "family" stuff going on when we don't have that. Remember, Jesus and Paul are among dudes who didn't either! In a way, we should think of this as preparation - we are getting information that some men get late if they don't get at all! In some ways, we are better off - more time to focus on Jesus!
It should be I am third. Jesus first. Others second. I am third. This is biblical.

I just watched the movie courageous. I cried like a baby. It was so well done and so true. My oldest daughter and her fiance also watched it and cried. Sure wish I never had to raise my two children without a dad, it hurt us all greatly. Thank you Alex for your courage.
did you know that no one (including Kirk Cameron) get paid to be in the movies? They are all volunteering to get the message of Jesus out into the world through these movies. The annointing is definitely on the Kendrick brothers. Praise the Lord for their obedience.

Fireproof is easily my favorite movie. SO inspirational and encouraging. It touches on the basis of pornography and sin and selfishness. It is absolutely spectacular.
Many Christian films are either preachy, corny, or thin. But the Kendricks Brothers continue to produce increasingly quality films that are relatable, gripping, and uplifting; not to mention faith building and scripturally sound. l've seen each of their films multiple times, promoting them to friends. And I look forward to every new project they produce.
I hope to see many more movies by Alex and his brother. Seeing these movies just makes me think not for the moment but for days and days about my life. They are amazing and moving.
Facing the Giants is still my most favorite movie! I saw it when it came out in theaters and have bought and given away more copies than I can remember. Super proud of these brothers!!

If God asked me a question...I'd cry. Honestly I would, I'd be afraid and over joyed at the same time. Afraid that he'd be angry with me for all I've done wrong...but over joyed that I knew he was there.

I was thinking about something while I was watching this, how it says that Jesus will baptize us with the Holy Spirit and with fire. I've never heard it said in Christianity that these are two different baptisms, but, biblically, it has to be that way. A baptism of fire isn't a pleasant thing, as anyone who has been a soldier can attest. Jesus had already been baptized with the Holy Spirit when He said, "I have a baptism of fire to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished." It's when we go through the refinery that God can get rid of our impurities, just like gold is refined by putting it through a white-hot furnace. The amazing thing is that even Jesus had to go through this process. "Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things that He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of salvation to all who believe."

I am so grateful to God that Courageous was made! My dad made it a family night out to go see it, and it really uplifted him. He had at that time just lost his mother to cancer months earlier and then just days before we went to see the film, lost his job. It was a moment in his life where he needed God the most and a reminder that God was with him, and to be courageous. Thank-you, Alex.

Alex & Steven, I just want to tell you that all your movies are great, BUT NOT ONE HAS TOUCHED AND CHANGED MY LIFE THE WAY WAR ROOM HAS DONE!!!
It's been more than 2 months since I've seen War Room for the first time and it is still changing my life! My prayer life has changed and maybe for the first time in 41 years of my life, I'm truly praying and spending time with God the way He intended me to do!
I honestly believe that you don't have any idea of the impact you are having on the world with your ministry! This is SO MUCH bigger than you can even start to imagine!

Wow. 8 years and two years days later and this testimony is STILL as powerful.. I've watched a few of Alex Kendrick's interviews but this one has to be the best. I kinda got to see a very vulnerable side of him. What God is teaching me now is that no matter how "strong of a Christian" u are or portray urself to be, whether in front of the camera, behind the camera, or no camera at all, we ALL have issues that we're dealing with within ourselves. We ALL face our own "giants" (pun intended 😎). BUT with God, we are able to work through them and receive healing, deliverance and breakthrough. It's so crazy that God allowed Alex to write and produce these films, not after, but WHILE he was going through the same problems that these actors were playing out in his films. CRAZY how God works. He humbles us by revealing ourselves to ourselves. I'm so proud of Alex and Stephen Kendricks. I hope to one day meet them and be in one of their movies if God allows it.

Just watched Courageous and I have say it was extremely powerful and moving. As a father of 3 I can appreciate what being spread thin can look like and this movie echoes the life I wish to lead.
