There are smaller revolvers. I own one. It's a tiny pinfire thing that that I bought at the J.M. Davis Gun Museum in Claremore, OK about 25 years ago. It's not legally a firearm for some reason I haven't figured out. The ammo that came with it is blanks, but it would be fully capable of firing a teeny tiny bullet if you loaded one, and there's room in the chambers for a bullet to be added on top of the blank, making me think that was the original design.
It would, of course, be less dangerous than even a weak BB gun.

They are great for what they are. They are deep conceal revolvers. That means that it is a "backup" to a backup gun. Like evaluating a knife for shovel uses, is missing the point of the item in question. Deep conceal is for just outside of "knife distance" use. Think six to 12 steps away depending on stride.

The NAA wasn't intended for distance, but ranges 10' or closer. It's a last ditch gun, better than a knife, rock or pointed stick. Like the derringers of the Old West, it's a belly gun. Treating it as a BUG Gun greatly exceeds its design/use parameters Ian.
About 10 years ago, my wife's employer changed the scrubs they wore at the dental office, into a style she could no longer carry her S&W Mod 60 without printing. The office is located in a rough high crime part of town. I bought her the very gun you used at this match. Modifying a nylon and Velcro ankle holster she carries it in. Spent considerable time at the range as she became proficient with it. At 10', she can keep all 5 shots within a 3-4" group, at just a little less than 1 second per shot (incidentally, rocking your wrist to cock the hammer impacts your time considerably, and unless your hands are very small, it's a bad habit, and unnecessary if you train correctly).
Frankly, she loves that little gun, and willingly spends time working to stay proficient with it. Is it the best option? No. Is much better than no gun at all? Damn right it is.
When you're vid popped up in my feed, I immediately knew you wouldn't have a good score, because it's not a BUG Gun, and was never intended to be. Can you imagine how much minute micro machining it would require to make the cylinder swing out on a crane and have an ejector in the cylinder. Or to make both DA and SA. They do make a slightly longer barreled version with a target style adjustable rear sight. There's also an after market laser grip designed for it.
Despite its limitations. It is a very well made wee pistol. Exhibiting great craftsmanship, and a Lifetime warranty second to none.
There are also a Break Top and Swing out cylinder versions of the gun. Both are a bit bigger to accommodate the room needed to use those mechanisms.
There's even a Cap N Ball Percussion version of the NAA Mini Revolver for Black Powder Afficiandos.
We're I a cop, I'd look more at NAA's Guardian line of pistols. One of the smallest semi auto's on the market. A 6+1 DAO semi auto, available in either .32 or .380 ACP, with a 2.2" and 2.5" barrels respectively.
It's too bad, that neither the .25 NAA and .32 NAA collaboration between NAA and CorBon succeeded. The .25 NAA used a necked down to .25 .32 auto case, and the .32NAA a necked down to .32 .380 auto case. Both had muzzle velocities that exceeded 1300fps out of their respective cases. Turning the Guardian into quite the smallest hand cannon commercially produced. Poor marketing, the biggest reason for its lack of success.
I would like to see you redo the Bug match with a Guardian. I'd bet your scores go up considerably.

I have these guns, and believe me it takes some real practice to get accurate with these little guys. The first time I shot at a target at about ten or fifteen feet away, I didn't even hit the target at all. I was scratching my head trying to figure out what the heck was going on, until I realized that the short barrel aim could be protracted based on how it was held and sighted and affect the aim. These guns are much better for up close and personal, and I would never get rid of mine, carry them everyday.

The point is ,that the NAA is on a league of his own, smaller than compact, even smaller than subcompact, it truly can fit wherever you want, and still be able to make a hole. It is not meant to kill, most of times, but to surprise those than believe than you cannot possibly be carrying a gun in that moment. The only gun similar in size and function is a Beretta 418. A friend has one these NA mini revolver chamber in 22LR. He decided to completely disassemble it, but couldn’t reassemble it. The side plate is held in place by a single counter sunk head screw that only has a short treaded tip which threads into the opposite side of the revolver frame. This single screw is also the hammer pivot. The hammer spring is a shallow “S” shape that hooks into a groove in the bottom of the grip frame, and groove on the hammer. The problem is the hammer spring needs to be slightly compressed in order to reassemble. What I did was on both ends of the hammer spring was file and polish a small groove in the middle width of the hammer spring, the loop a length of kevlar fishing line around the the length of the hammer spring nestled into the groove. I then compressed the spring between the jaws of a vise and tied a took up the slack in the line and tied a knot, securing the knot with cyanoacrylate (Super Glue). I was then able to assemble the hammer and side plate, then with needle nose pliers insert the hammer spring, pull the hammer back positioning both ends if the hammer spring in the frame and hammer grooves, and while holding the hammer back, cut the kevlar line which released tension and pulled the line out and as the hammer spring is under slightly tension at rest is held in place. Placed the R/L grip panels on the grip frame and secured with its cross screw. I certain that North American Arms has some kind of assembly fixture for compressing the hammer spring. At least I got it back together for my friend. Now he knows to not do a complete disassembly. I can’t blame him as I would had been compelled to see what’s inside the frame.

I like what NAA put in their ads before, and it's always stuck with me. "Is it effective? Would you want to be shot by one?"
And that's what the FBI discovered. All handgun rounds universally suck. All that matters is that when people are shot and know they are shot, psychology kicks in and enters self-preservation mode, usually resulting in neutralization. A 10mm or .500 S&W really isn't any better than a .22 or .25 ACP, at the end of the day. Nobody says "Oh, you shot me with a .380 ACP? Pathetic! You expect me to give up from that?! I would think about giving up if it was a 9mm Makarov, but I don't care about a .380, you should have picked a 9x19 or a .357 SIG".

I owned several polymer sub- and micro-compacts and the NAA is way, way smaller and lighter than all of them. In a pocket holster it will conceal in gym shorts, swimwear or your pajamas. You cannot do that with even an LCP. Anything that offers that level of carriability will continue to have a place in the market, because just about no other gun offers 100% program compliance regardless of your attire.
The Pug is my personal favorite NAA model because of the larger rubber grip, the added rear sight and the tritium front sight. Practice with something like that and you can make it work adequately within room range.
Only real problem I have is that cheaper ammo can tumble out of the 1-inch barrel, but stuff like Gold Dots and Critical Defense always stabilize.

I have one of those .22mags. Hey, it's meant as a pocket gut-buster, not a match pistol!! (Based off the original .22LR mini-revolvers from the mid-1800's)

I've always wanted one of these as a range toy

@Robert Sears ok let me get this straight: a 5.56 SBR is useless but a tiny 5 shot single action .22 magnum revolver is a legit self defense gun? Yeah ok Elmer.

@Robert Sears whatever you say Elmer.

@Robert Sears I guess your just going to completely forget about any other caliber an SBR could be chambered in, huh? .300 BLK, 7.62x39, 9mm, 10mm, .45 ACP, etc. Plus, I have a suppressor so the concussion is hardly an issue for me.
