@@jl3303 I found out the same with with some blue velocities.. could never find them on the course.. light blue is not to bad but Vice quit making that color. A guy I play with uses them. He has found them on amazon but vice no longer has them in stock
The worst Callaway balls have to be the Chrome Soft batch that had 90% lopsided cores that made the ball fly all wonky. They spent millions retooling their equipment after MGS outed them a couple years ago.
Keep coming back to your Channel but genuinely I’m not sure there’s a single difference in any of your videos from one to the next. It’s annoying because as a personality goes I don’t dislike James but the content here is just stale in my opinion.
Mr. Short Game, tested the pro v white and yellow and found that the yellow went a little farther. Don't know myself I cannot hit the ball constantly enough.
I play Warbird lake balls in casual play just to make my normal playing mates laugh. I don't need to remember the number, no one else is playing a Warbird! I found a Warbird 2 in the bag the other evening 😮
I’d be really thrilled if I could hit the ball consistently enough to notice the difference. I play a 2 piece TM SpeedSoft. It plays fine and it doesn’t cost $50+.
I play with srixon half blue/yellow & half orange/yellow. People H-A-T-E them. Very easy to putt, line up, very easy to spot in the nether regions of the course, never end up in someone else's pocket and make me the bon vivant of the day😅
ProV1 are only the #1 ball because of marketing. They pay every player that uses them $10,000-$100,000 depending on finish... They say that more pros win with ProV1 than any other ball... What they dont also tell you is that more players miss the cut playing ProV1's than do make the cut... "There's lies... there's damned lies... and then there's statistics..." Stop trusting marketing and just find what you play best... My golf mate is a 3hc, and he plays Wilsons...
I like them and much prefer yellow balls as I can pick them out better in flight. Would wait for enough people to put them in the lake and buy them as lake balls! 😮
Honestly James...just a bit Snobby. It's always negative with colored balls. Bottom line, if you notice truly perceptable difference between white and truvis yellow, you need to be on tour. They are great balls. And everything premium balls should be. Here in the US, these are quite common. We long ago let go of the white ball snobbery where I live. One day, perhaps Callaway may make them in high vis green, similar to two-piece balls currently on the market. Imho the real reason they don't is because golfers I know lose less, so therefore they have to buy less.
If you’re a high handicapper, ignore all of this and use a ball you don’t mind losing. I pay $24.99 for a dozen Callaway Super Soft and I can’t tell the difference between them and a ProV1/1x.
In the past i never really enjoyed callaway golf balls, just didn’t seem to fly that far 😕…currently using Taylormade Ink balls …. which do fly high and far and are also very reasonable priced 👍👍
I play the Chrome Soft triple track, great ball and works well with my 2-ball blade putter, I’m putting better than I ever have and its working well with the other parts of my game.
Famous last words your ball flight was low Chris.....then hit a worm burner 🤣 We've all done it. I'd take the ugliest ball in the world for a hole in 1 but sadly I've not had 1 No i wouldn't use them myself
I usually use vice pro green and picked up a box of these a week ago on a whim. Definitely don't think they perform the same. Once I lost three of them on the course I switched back to my voice balls and improved. I'm not that good to know the difference but definitely felt different hitting these.
I'll stick with my TM Tour Response Align balls .. I've used the Tour Response yellow balls in the fall and winter just to be able to see and find them better when the grass color changes. As far as alignment aids on those, nothing a Sharpie can't handle! lol
Yes, I regularly play high-vis yellow golf balls, so I'd play the Chrome Soft ball. The idea that the color of the ball somehow affects performance is rubbish, IMO.
The My Golf Spy test said the difference between green/yellow and white was only a couple of yards. Test the Chrome Tour instead, great ball in the wind. In the states not hard to get the yellow Calloway or most any manufacturer ball.
I game chrome soft yellow and white and for me the truvis design is not for me. I do seem to play better with the yellow chrome soft only because I can visually see it better. I’ve tried all the top tour balls and the worst for me was the Pro V1.
James and Chris, since you are always talking about value propositions you need to try the Legato ball! Put it up against your premium ball favorites! Your friend Gabe in Florida loves the ball! I have tried them and they are as good or better than the premium brands and cost $26-$29 per dozen. That is the value many of use are looking for! High Quality at a reasonable price! Keep bringing it!
I used the Calloway Chromesoft Truvis balls for a while..I am not a big hitter but I split 2 of them in half and had 2 more crack almost fully open...I got them replaced but I won't use them again...now using Titleist AVX and love them
I use yellow golf balls mainly to be different from other golfers so they don't accidentally hit my golf ball. I also like the pattern on these golf balls over the TaylorMade. Wilson FLI golf balls going for £9.53 on AmazonUK for a dozen. Like to hear your opinion.
How the hell can the colour of a ball effect the distance it goes, what a load of rubbish.I would put any hole in one ball on my mantle piece no matter what the colour.
Just tried the Inesis 900 balls in yellow last weekend, and they felt really, really great. ) Fantastic ball for under 35 €. So I think about 30 £. I use a tool to mark it with the tripple track by myself. 😅
I like the white Vice Pro balls with the tiny colored specs in them. I use the high viz balls occasionally because iv'e found a few Pro V1 high viz . Other than that I leave them alone.
They are awesome.. if you don’t want them then send them to me!! I love them. My eyes aren’t great so I genuinely use crazy balls. Using the srixon divides as 8 can see them in the air.
I seen a review on let's play through of legato golf balls and bought the got a dozen for £22 brilliant as good as pro v 1. If you can get them you should give them a go.
Not snobbish about patterned balls or yellow. I love the Tour Response Stripe (and yellow), and Srixon Divide. Would certainly play that ball if it worked for me.
You were talking about alignment aids. Have you used "The Jack" variants of the Seed balls? It's available on some of the pro balls and for the cheaper Country Mile ball as well.
Like many I play the yellow ball for the visual aspect and Bubba Watson played the yellow Pro V1 at one time! I’ve played Titleist since the Tour Professional/Balata balls then Pro V1 when it came out! Tried the Callaway & hated it during the “wonky core” period but I’m going to give the chrome gold a trial!
Have had a love/hate relationship with Truvis balls for years. Love the yellow/black soccer ball optic. Suits my eye, and ball looks bigger than average. About 5, 6 years ago I played a round in which the first ball out of the box provided astonishing performance. 30 to 50 yards over my average drive. This lasted four holes until I lost the ball. Drives were a low of 304, to a high of 323 measured with a laser. People playing with me thought I was a pro. Pulled another ball from the same sleeve and never hit one over 240 for the rest of the year. Subsequent boxes had the same lack of distance. Then Golf Spy does their ball test and it's a horror show. So Callaway was dead to me. A couple years later after Callaway spent millions on their ball plant to 'fix' the problem, tried them again. No performance improvements, it became a 'you get what you get' ball. Again Golf Spy tests, and again the balls have quality issues. So dumped them again. Spent the last couple years playing ProV1x and have been happy. Bought some Truvis as a backup ball, BUT only buy refurbished ones now.
Like many I prefer the yellow ball because of the visual aspect and Bubba Watson at one time played the yellow Pro V1! Hi James , there is a budget ball with an alignment aid and it’s on a version of the Temu ball you reviewed in a previous video. Would be good to get your thoughts on it 👍👍
Yellow balls from all manufacturers are often on offer at a cheaper price, i suspect an old stock sale? As much as £10 per dozen cheaper, doesn’t make sense
Being sight impaired, I use different colored balls. Biggest issue I see is alot of the colored ones feel slightly different. Just enough to be distracting.
i did a ball fitting and landed on the chrome tour x, i went with the white trutracks but i’d also game the yellow ones lol might put a dozen in the shag bag for the chipping green
I am badly colour blind and bizarrely I find a yellow ball easier to focus on than a white one. Just don’t tempt me with an orange one. I can lose an orange ball when it’s sat on the tee peg😂
Been gaming the taylor made tour response strip for couple months now and it to me is easier to see in the air ....seems to be easier to focus on when hitting shots but the real gains i have seen are in my putting ...its instant feed back if you roll it end over end and much easier to set up and get on line because i feel when you only have a small sharpie sized alignment line its much harder to get it lined up ...the wide line on the tour response i have found i can get on line much easier .....and i am a very big pro v 1x fan ...
Callaway and you said the hexagons are an alignment aid. Rubbish. Trying to align the 1/4" sides of 2 hexagons an inch apart on a small round surface where only 1 is visible at a time as the ball rotates and trying to incorporate a 2nd offset pair 1/2" away is humanly impossible. Watching 1 or 3 long straight lines is 100 times easier. Triple track is good. Remove the hexagons and I'll draw my own line. That would be better than this rubbish.
Really hard to use a Callaway ball after that MySpy report and confirmation from Callaway. I love that Truvis look, but if it’s a used ball, what am I getting? If it’s an overstock ball, what am I getting? Even a hacker like me needs to know that an appropriately struck ball is going to fly straight.
