I knew that "CODA" was based on a French movie, but unlike the remake, hearing actors were hired to play the hearing impaired characters. I'm glad that they added more authenticity to the American version.

I still absolutely love the Sound of Music. It’s such a good film with memorably songs

I'm surprised James Cameron's Titanic from 1997 didn't make the list. It is a remake of the Titanic film called A Night To Remember from 1958, and Cameron borrowed some dialogue for his film from that film.

I’m shocked “You’ve Got Mail” want included, as it was based on “Shop Around the Corner.”

Personally, I don't consider The Prince of Egypt as a remake of The Ten Commandments. Nefretiri, Joshua, Lilia, and some other characters aren't in the movie. The Prince of Egypt is mostly another adaptation of The Book of Exodus that mainly focuses on the relationship of the brothers, and doesn't include the Nefretiri love story that Ten Commandments had. The 1956 film is really a remake of the 1923 film which both had the same director, Cecil B. DeMille.

The Ten Commandments is a great movie and I loved how they animated it so children could enjoy such a wonderful story.

What about Ocean's 11? The George Clooney version can't hold a candle to the original starring Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack.

I had no idea the Last Holiday was a remake of a 1950s movie of the same name.

Al Pacino did a great job in Scarface. Given that the 1932 is the original, but I much prefer 1983 version of the movie.

Awesome! 🤣 I have been talking about Yul Brynner's three films of 1956 "The Ten Commandments", "Anastasia" and "The King And I" all got animated remakes.

You’ve Got Mail! Which was based off a Hungarian play but had been previously made into two movies “Shop Around the Corner” and “In the Good Old Summertime”

Kind of thought You've Got Mail would have been honorable mention as it's a remake of the 1940 Shop Around the Corner.

The remakes: Three Men and a Baby, Prince of Egypt, Anastasia, Freaky Friday (I did see both the 70s and 90s versions; plus the sequels on the 70s one.) The Wizard of Oz, Flubber, I Am Legend, and Cheaper by the Dozen.

Speaking of "Some like it hot" there is a Swedish film from 1945 that is very similiar to called "Fram för lilla Märta" which also could be an inspiration for Billy Wilder. That movie was in turn based on the British farce Charley's Aunt from 1892.

the 1932 version has an "X" in the background for everyone that died. Scorsese used that technique in the Departed if you look closely.
