From their Netflix documentary, I learned about the song-writing aspect. I don't know much about music theory, and my preference is house/trance. But I do have major nostalgia for Nickelback from the Much Music years. I'm 38 and have lived in Vancouver, Canada my whole life. The hate for them doesn't make much sense, as EVERYONE loves a melody. Everyone. Even people whose preference is Metal can't help but like a melody. It seems like our brain really likes pleasant-sounding patterns in major keys. You can't always listen to "sad-sounding" songs in minor keys.

Like for example that I don't like more than two types of pizza, do not like ice cream, I'm really hyper in the evening and some other reasons I don't remember. But, I don't actually care what others think about me anymore. After a couple of years of being bullied, you get used to thinking bad about yourself. So when it stopped a year and a half ago, I already had learned to not care about their thoughts and opinions on me.

If this day was my last, I'd go by and visit and call all my loved ones, freinds, family, etc. I'd thank them for bieng part of my life but I'd never let them know that it was in fact our final day together. So their final memory of us together would be a happy one and none would feel any regrets at my passing, or shame, or sadness.
