    Not turquoise it’s actually aquamarine and those aren’t citrine clusters either.

  • @choronzon.333
    @choronzon.333 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    But that lapis....I think that came out of someone's pocket and ended up lost in the pit....I'm thinking that's not found here....

      @chicamorgan2469 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was kyanite, and it is found there. So is lazulite.

      Yea that piece of blue sodalite does not naturally occur at Diamond hill where they’re mining

    Nice finds! One thing I will comment on (and this comes from my experience as a geologist) is the blocky, well cleaved green mineral. With but a fleeting view of it I’m quite sure it is not turquoise but rather a feldspar known as microcline (amazonite). It is typically found in association with quartz in pegmatitic plutonic rock bodies like the one you are investigating.

      Could be beryl (emerald). :)

    • @chicamorgan2469
      @chicamorgan2469 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is beryl and aquamarine found here. It's quite a geological masterpiece and a mystery as to how so many different types of gems were found here. I'm hoping they really did find the dark blue one. If so, it's likely kyanite. Didn't get a good look.

    I don't understand how this huge pile of sand and clay with crystals mixed in was formed. Is it a pile of spoil from an actual mine? Nice finds!!!

    • @depthsofhistory
      @depthsofhistory  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s been mined for over 20 years

    • @dancentofanti5607
      @dancentofanti5607 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like it is mostly spoil piles from the mine. The mine cuttings are full of stuff the miners missed or passed up. Looks like fun!!!!!!!! :)

    • @chicamorgan2469
      @chicamorgan2469 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not "spoil". They dig out massive chunks of soil, and pile it up and let people dig in them. They're looking for the big stuff and don't dig through the piles. The crystal collector has good videos from his professional dig here.

    Those are some great finds. I don't know if me suggesting to bring a dirt sifter would help speed up the search for those tiny finds like the lapis because of the dirt being so muddy and thick.

    Cool video guys. Nice looking crystals. Curious, do you cell the crystals or keep them for your own collection. Great job, can't wait till the next video. When I was in Arkansas you could walk along a highway or a back road and fine small diamonds. There was a young lady that pick up a stone and it was a 2++ carrot diamond. What luck. cul ty 73
