hi,kicback,you say the top end is a sr cylinder with a reed,is this one of the scooter restoration ones,that where common about 15 years ago,i would say the jet gearbox is not suitable,it has quite a big jump between 3rd and 4th,the gp200 box is a good alround box, i would sell the jet box as they fetch good money on ebay,and get a li 150 box,and go 15 tooth on the front,with the scoot rs or if you went with a bgm clubman you could go 16 on the front sprocket, if the dowels are loose,you can redrill through the end plate and casing with a oversize drill,then cut some new dowels from the shank of the drill and loctite in place,i have also drilled and tapped through the end plate dowel holes and used a button head bolt as extra security,hope this helps and good luck
Great help, thanks. I don't dare tell the owner that he really should have another gear box. He is more show than go. He has used a small fortune on paint and parts and "forgot" the the engine may need some attention 😀
@@tavspeed1101 I don't charge any money for rebuilds so if the pipe messes up the ride... Not my problem. He is aware of it and I see an upgrade in his future. I think a MB clubman or even a Cst3 would be a much better option.
@@kickbackgarage yes the scootrs pipes are a revvy pipe,might be worth measuring the height of the exhaust and transfer ports and see where it would make the best power,mb developments have a good page on their website regarding port timings and rpm,then you can advise him on what pipe,gearing he wants and what type of ride he wants, but the scootrs would work with the gp200 gearbox and 5.3 gearing,but might run out of steam around 60 mph,i have a mb bgm clubman on my ts1 230 with a sx200 gearbox,and goes very well,and are a excellent allround exhausts,and quiet
When I disassemble anything I keep parts separate in plastic bags and mark them up...I took a scooter apart last year and thought i was just taking a look and ended up dismantling the whole thing and didn't keep everything bagged and marked. Now it's a challenge to match bolts to places...Hmmm..
That sounds like a challenge! The TV I am doing now just came in a bunch of different boxes but when you have a few, you start to recognise the parts.. haha

Sx200 box is not suitable for that state of tune, run your gp box 18/47
