as someone who as lived in perth all my life its fascinating seeing it from an other view!
Glad you liked it even through our eyes 😍🙌
It's really nice to see a young couple in love and having so much fun together.
Thank you so much Gary 🤩
Welcome to Perth. Enjoy your stay😊❤️🇦🇺
Thank you 🤩 we loved exploring the city 😍
Great vid girls kinks park is a special place glad your enjoying our great city and beaches ❤
Excellent video! Kings Park is extremely popular for picnics, outdoor concerts and various festivals including an upcoming light festival at night. The twilight view of the city from King's Park is stunning.
THANK YOU 🥹 and thanks for adding all the info about Kings Park, it was properly a lovely park!
First time virtually in Perth. It has been decades since I have been in Australia. Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Canberra. Look forward to seeing all again! Thanks for taking us along. I fit in your backpack.
Thank you for your beautiful words 🤩 we are so happy that you enjoyed the vlog 😍 and we are so happy to bring you in our backpacks 🥹
I'd suggest visiting Rottnest Island. The Rottnest Express boat isn't exactly cheap, especially from Elizabeth Quay. But we've just come off our hottest summer on record. I think you'd enjoy a swim in Little Salmon Bay, explore the island, Quokka selfies etc. It's the tourist thing to do.
Thank you for the tip ❤️ another friend of us recommended us to see Rottnest Island and we wanted it to go so badly, but unfortunately the ferry ticket was just too much for us.. maybe next time, hoping to have then a higher budget 😅
@@matandangie It is rather prohibitive, especially just for a day-trip. And I'm not always looking out for cheaper fare days. As a local, going to Rotto is a once per decade event.
Try to befriend somebody that owns a boat. It's what I do 😉
We went to Govindas. It was so cheap! I loved the art gallery and Kings Park too
Yesss Govindas was a good quick lunch (and the only place open at 2pm which is kind of crazy).. your recommendations helped us a lot, thank you ❤️
Most of the animals are more active at dawn and dusk. During the day theyre mostly sleeping/catching shade... and you missed the museum, couple of minutes walk from the art gallery, free too
Thank you so much for the advices 🤩 next time we’ll visit the museum as well! Perth is such a beautiful city 🫶 can’t wait to visit it again 🥹
Very informative, thanks for the vlog
Glad you enjoyed it! 😍😍
I am so glad you two found Perth so interesting, especially the random trips 😁
Thanks! We had so much fun and Perth is really stunning! 😍🤩
So, when you got off the ferry in S Perth, a short walk would have taken you to the Zoo which has Red and Grey kangaroos, as well as Wallabies.
Another good place to find kangaroos is Pinaroo Cemetery.
Thank you for the tip, but we don’t go to any kind of zoo or aquarium, we are against animal captivity, but we saw many wild kangaroos while driving from Adelaide to Sydney (many vlogs about that coming!) 🤩
@@matandangie Yeh, I get where you're coming from. Unfortunately, zoos are becoming an ark for endangered species.
For example, Perth Zoo has brought a number of species back from the edge of extinction through their conservation programs which can be found on their web site.
They are also a member of the Zoo and Aquarium Assoc. which provides critical funding to projects that aim to protect and conserve threatened species in the wild. It manages networks for over 500 zoo and aquarium specialists in fields such as wildlife research, veterinary science, environmental education and horticulture. Members have to comply with strict animal welfare obligations.
So, by visiting the zoo, you actually support the survival of threatened species in the wild.
That’s actually cool to know! Thanks for sharing.. it’s a pity it has to be like that though and I’m not sure animal in captivity should be the solution for endangered species. At least it is not all bad then. Glad you told us that!
Great video. You've covered quite a fair bit of interesting places in Perth. I also recommend the aviation museum. You'll love it. And, don't forget Fremantle.
We wanted to visit Fremantle so badly, but couldn’t make it in one day.. we’ll have to come back and add the aviation museum, since you recommended! Thanks for the tip 😍
Great video about Perth- very happy you enjoyed my city of residence :) - it's a visually beautiful city
Glad you enjoyed it! 😍🥹 it is very pleasing and well kept! You live in a lovely place 🙌
The Roos on Heirisson island are such sweethearts and love a gentle scratch behind the ears. If you’re still in Perth, definitely check out Caversham Wildlife Park. It’s well worth the price of admission and there are so many albino kangaroos and joeys!
really?! that's awesome! Unfortunately we are not in Perth anymore.. but thanks for the tip! We wanna come back one day though 🤩
So glad you enjoyed my city; you certainly packed a lot into a short visit!
Surprised you had to pay to get to Kings Park from the City. Buses there from the CBD are part of the Free Transit Zone that runs all the way from East Perth to West Perth, but maybe you told the driver you were going on to Cottesloe and he charged you for that.
Hope you get the chance to come back and explore a little more. I'm off to check out some of your other travels! 💖
We loved Perth, we cannot wait to be back and explore some more of its natural surroundings 😍
Glad that you mentioned that the bus to Kings Park is still free! We had bought a daily pass and we thought we had to use it for that ride but as you said we were wrong 😅🙌
We hope you’ll enjoy the next travels as well ❤️
Those kangaroos will see you, long before you see them. Weather you get to see them is entirely up to them.
Awwww 🥹 this is incredible 🤩🦘
Che carini ❤
belli vero?! 😍❤️
How do you pay public transport, there? Especially bus. Cash or cad?
We got a DayRider which is an all included (bus, train and ferry) pass for 1 day. We got it at the wharf paying by card. You can get it at train stations as well. If you do not want a pass, but just a singular ticket you can get it at train stations and wharfs paying by card/cash or in cash on buses (no card accepted I think). Double check everything on the official website though www.transperth.wa.gov.au/ (hope this helps ❤️)
@@matandangie thanks! 🙏🏻
If you guys really want to see larger kangaroos in their natural environment, google any Golf Course within the Perth metropolitan area or any surrounding regions and you’ll be able to see thousands of them!
Really?! 😍😍 that’s a great tip! Do they like to hang around golf course? This is so cool!
@@matandangie Yep. In mandurah you have to tee off from the first hole over about 40 sleepy kangaroos. They never move. At night they roam around outside the golf course (and eat my mum's flowers).
There are different types of kangaroos, some are larger
Lady pls show kangaroo farming & cost etc in Australia. Be ware bee happy!
what do you mean? We are very against any kind of farming.. we are vegan.
Yummy food but expensive
yes that's the only upsetting part 💔
Its a pity they don't have quolls, quokkas, bandicoots and possums too. They could lock the gate at night to keep them safe.
There was no gate.. you just enter right away in the park, if it there was we didn’t see it! 😅
We saw a possum in the Adelaide botanical garden, even though we found out only afterwards 😂😂
@@matandangie You did actually use a gate; that little cage you go through to get to the kangaroo area. It's not for security or payment, it's just there to stop the kangaroos wandering onto the very busy road over the river. The nearby building works that were going on, while you were here, are making a beautiful bridge for bicycles and pedestrians, away from that busy road. It will have spaces for people to stop and enjoy the view. Hope you come back and enjoy it when it's finished :)
she was the best student in the class
who??? 😅
Great place to retire according to my friend
I'm sure it could be a very nice place for retirement! Very accessible and well kept 🤩
Great place to live period. So much nicer than Melbourne and Sydney imo
Wallabies perhaps. Not kangaroo?
I think they were grey kangaroos which are a lot smaller than the red kangaroos.
I'm pretty sure they were kangaroos but I think we mixed them up in the upcoming videos, so be ready for some mistakes ahahaha (spoiler 😅)
Exactly, we found out there were different kinds of kangaroos only after our road trip (coming soon all the videos), so we were always like "why are they so tiny?!"...... then it all made sense 😂
Thanks for explaining it though! 🦘
@@matandangie Yeah, it's an honest mistake as we don't really see red roos in city areas. They are mostly up in the northern territory. Great videos by the way :)
Thank you so much 😍😍
be very careful of walking in long grass or scrub land we dont do that here . snakes. stay on a marked path .
You're absolutely right! Thanks for the reminder ❤️
Not sure how likely you are to come across any reptiles on the island. Still, good advice.
Pronounced "key" not "quay"
ahahahah obviously we found out after filming it! It's always like that, sorry about that 😅
Affectionately and cheekily called "Betty's Jetty" not Elizabeth Quay by the locals such as myself. Also if you want to see the streets full of people and lots going on try Friday or Saturday night. My wife and I had dinner at a restaurant in the city on the previous weekend and the place was heaving.
@@RalphMackey I love that there are now restaurants - from fancy to local eatery - instead of tumbleweeds in the CBD after 5pm. I've been here since 1970 and it's certainly woken up :)
