Can i use short grain rice flour ?

I tried once to make Tteokbokki . When i boield the rice cakes, it turned yellow and got hard as a rock.
After softening the rice cake with hot water or a microwave, try making tteokbokki. I hope you succeed. 😊Have a nice day!

Instead of microwaving it,can it be steamed?
Making rice cakes with steam takes more time and requires skill. However, if you succeed, the quality is good. ^^
