I've had this unit for only 5 years and have two problems. 1. Water leaks from the bottom and... 2. The area around the bleach dispenser is COMPLETELY rusted out. Time to get a new washer. NOT a LG....
What's amazing is that this bleach dispenser rusting problem has not been addressed. My LG top load washer is 12 years old and has this rusting issue, and LG continues to sell these units without fixing this problem. I even met an LG representative in BestBuy about 7 years ago, showed her pics, etc. Still selling LG washers with this problem. SMH!
The LG washer has these flaws, but the leak is fixable, and the rust problem can be worked around too with some appliance paint and other TH-cam videos help. Mine is at least 12 years old and still gets my laundry clean for my family of 4.
Same problem. Water on the floor, only occasionally. Took out the pump and checked for cracks/leaks. Nothing. The chlorine dispenser is a bit different on my model. Was not disconnected, rusted or whatever. Also, not clogged. I found another video where a woman discovered there was a different problem with the choline dispenser. She took the control panel cover off and just disconnected the wire to the valve that controls the water to the dispenser. I'm not sure anyone ever uses bleach anymore anyway. Still have not found the problem since it only happens rarely. I bought a pan for under the washer from Home Depot and stuck it under the washer. It will probably only catch a half gallon or so before it overflows, but that should be plenty.
@@ryantheteknishun9377 Thank you , ours is top load 2018 and seems we have a leak too but its not in the same spot? going to take some looking around. ?
I have a similar lg washer. My leak is in the front right side. Less then a quarter of a glass of water when the spin cycle is on high. It's also random. Not all washes that I do leak.
Interesting problem. Some of the washers have water hoses that run by that area and “power rinse” from a separate nozzle (other than the normal fill spout) on the spin cycle. If it’s a glass top, try to see where exactly the water sprays from during the high spin. That way you have a better idea which plumbing system is responsible for the leak. Also, ensure its LEVEL, front to back and side to side. During filling, a tilted drum can collect a bit of water on the top ring and slosh it off later, appearing to be a leak. Hope this helps!

On mine that little hose that stops the water came loose, thanks for the video it solved my issue.
Excellent!

I have a similar LG unit and I noticed the tub still has water in it and yes I’m having a leak at the bottom I will follow your advice

Good idea! Washers can also simply slosh water out from time to time.
Thank you sir
Is this lg washer frame design a nightmare to remove? To get the drum out.. Wish it was easier like the new designs.
It is pretty busy!
I’ve done it. I changed the top due to rust. Took about 3 hrs. I am pretty good with tools.
oh my great video. How old is the washer?
Thank you! I don’t remember how old it was, as the washer is long gone. Looks like an early 2010s model though

Why is there not a hose from the overflow to the drain hose ?
hi my top load washer is leaking from the bottom left side only during the certaintime what to do
Pull back panel off and watch the cycle. These machines have different water outlets so watch carefully to see when and what leaks
Horrible sanding and paint job. I hope you not going to resell it like this
I understand that the washer needed to be back in service ... I don't mind a FUNCTIONAL, if ugly, repair. Who's to admire beneath the bleach port?
He did admit in the video that it “looks like sh*t”….
