Should have gone turbosmart. The forum experts say it holds boost better when tuned compared to the gfb. Also, there are alot of counterfeit versions of the gfb. Some 2.0t's have the recirc valve located by the tb from the factory, apparently it improves performance. Unitronic offers a kit to convert it, but I pieced one together from china parts, ha. It seems to add a little more pop and maybe quicker on boost in between shifts.
I have a 2009 audi a4 b8, I installed a ECS DV and a “upgraded diverter valve by peiberger” it looks exactly like the one I took off stock from my engine. Car has 162000 miles and stock engine and turbo.
That’s a dope shirt. Nice video, this was one of my first mods to my b8 A4. I had heard of previous failures with some of the factory recirculating valves so I looked at it like preventative maintenance
Hey Naptown I can’t find anything in terms of turbie’s rpms at full boost pressure.. I agree it’s got to be on the order of 50,000 + rpms.. I’d be very interested to know.. that control valve is run off boost pressure in the N75 circuit.. yes spec sheet for wd40 gel lube says it’s compatible with rubber. Looking fwd to seeing the wiring harness fix next.. great content in this video
We do performance parts before we do mechanical failure parts LOL....I have a leaking cambridge, leaking vacuum pump, blown out cv boot, blown out lower arm ball joint and I just want to buy a performance intercooler and charge pipes for it lol.
YO Nappy!! Great Vid again. Can you redo the Cam tray video, or make another one, where you put new anaerobic sealant on with the engine in the car still. You have one that kind of covers it, but you didn't show how to release tension on the cam chain tensioner because you were mad at TH-cam. I can't find a good write up on Audizine or anywhere, you video is the best out there, and I bet if you made one you would get a lot of hits on it. Everyone fks up it seems like and uses RTV. I've saw write ups where they say you don't have to release the tension from the chain, and the cams just "pop" out. Help me Nappy, you're my only hope.
I have that same motor I take the oil cap off it acts like it wants to shut off, also does the same thing when I pull out the dip stick changed pcv valve can you help
My honest opinion is to keep things as original as possible. I care less about spending money and more about a reliable long lasting vehicle. For the most part, any performance modifications will be a risk/reward ratio with the benefits being slim at best. (Unless doing maintenance and installing updated / improved oem parts in the factory research and development line. ..Then we get into planned obsolescence, most things are planned to fail from the beginning; parts as well as entire countries.
@@NaptownTuner Car is out of warranty since last year. I bought it new 5 years ago. I wanted to try the muffler delete first since it's easy and only cost $30. I figure the latest 2.0T like mine has less mod gain potential since the power output is higher than the previous gen motors.
When i see you with glasses i know it's that time again. I actually have one on my turbie but it does nothing besides a little noise. pretty disappointing for the money spent.
I have never understood why they valve those at all. If they properly set up a Tesla valve in the exhaust system, you could provide increasing back pressure to a diverted exhaust. This is what happens when chemical engineers steer into the realm of car mechanics.
@@virtisconsole12 That is the neat thing about Tesla Valves. They can be designed as to allow for nearly uninhibited flow at low flow rates up until a certain point and then will rapidly create flow interference/back pressure above a certain psi range.
Turbi's rpm is not even in da same league as the colours on Napster's shirt after a dose of LSD... The GFB part, imo, just looks like a glorified recirc/diverter valve spacer. Usually used for show, rather than go. Plus, cant trust dem Aussies (coz i am one)!!

Love your videos man and your attitude
I got the updated diverter valve,,looks like I'll be getting this to make sure it doesn't fail again ,👍
Looking forward to see what Naptown Tuner is rustlin' up for the future with his "Cooking up some stuff" teaser comment.
I would like to know wit installing GFB's , has the unwanted LAG (low rpm) reduced considerably?
Digging the style lately 👌 😎
yeah How do you like them bits !? Go fast Bits !
And here comes the mods…hell yea. Video with pictures??? It’s like ADHD paradise for me…
Nice shirt Naptown 💪🏼

Too much oil pressure lost, these engines are a sealed vacuum. You probably got old gaskets and leaking air.
Dude where Do U Get Your Sun Shades?
I watch a lot of the vids. I got a b8. But just be you. Less fucking around.
Will my stock 2018 Q5 benefit from this?

Personally forge valve performs much better than GFB
“Turbey” lol

I agree with you but I think you wouldn’t want constant back pressure on the turbo, I like that ChemE analogy haha

I disagree with that lubing part
Bad idea !
I've been trying to reach you via email, I just need some quotes on a job for ya
I’ve been really busy the past few days barely time to make videos but I’ll reply tonight or tomorrow
@@NaptownTuner Thank you so much! No worries.
@@NaptownTuner where are you located
dump valve man :)
When I hear dump valve, I think blow off valve and I didn’t address that here but probably will eventually
@@phonkyfeel1can you explain more on getting flames out the back 🔥 I am currently running stock DV with ECS adapter
