The overheating really was never an issue at all. It happened when shooting at 8k for half an hour, who does that!? Of all the millions who bought that camera, who bought it to shoot continuously for half an hour at 8k. If that’s your requirement you’re an idiot for buying a stills camera with decent video capability.
Thank you. I own the current R5 plus many Sony cameras and have kept the R5 and my L based lens collection waiting to see what’s coming. With new rumors almost every week for the last six months to a year I’ve kind of tuned it all out. I like your calm presentation style and lack of hype so I was able to listen all the way through. Take care.
Serious question - why do so many channels only Parrott what Canon Rumors puts out? - I see all you guys with brand new video's out on the Supposed R1 and R5ii for it to only be the same information Canon Rumors has already put out, which by the way has been notably wrong this year on most things.
Thanks for saving my time. I'm tired of these repeat news channels from rumor sources.
Because views
I made a video about why I make videos. Check it out. Love your wildlife photography BTW!
“ we are expected to get” is not the same as specs confirmed. Clickbait is real.
Facts
Is it known whether or not the R5 II will have Quad autofocus?
Is this Canon official news? If not then I'll believe it when Canon announce it, people who get to use the official Canon gear will have had to sign a non disclosure agreement and would not be allowed to disclose anything about the gear they have been using, so i'll take this with a pinch of salt.
This is all very entertaining to me. When was the R5ii originally supposed to come out?
R5ii clog2 + 16 stops dynamic range + 4k 120 HQ with sound = ❤
16 Stops? The R5 gets 10.8 Stops now, while Sony Panasonic and Nikon Get 12.4. So give me 13 stops, Clog2, 4k60HQ, XFAVC 10 bit and a cleaner 6400 iso and im good.
The way camera makers measure DR has no relationship to real life usefulness. My DR test since getting my first digital to shoot draped white and black fabric, the scene range challenge I faced shooting brides and grooms and solved by always using two speedlights in key over neutral axis fill over the camera on a bracket.
@@TeddyCavachon well if it has as much dynamic range as the A7S3 I will be good with that.
@@heynow2880 Ever since the advent of color photography photographers had been faced with DR limitations. With color negative it was the print not the negative. The workaround was to change the range of the scene with flash, which you can do outdoors by putting the subject’s back to the sun, posing the face to the direction of the skylight as you would using north facing window, then put your “KEY” flash on the same vector with “FILL” as needed on the camera axis above the lens high enough to cast the fill flash shadow down out of sight.
Monte Zucker, who I had the pleasure of assisting back in 1972-74 introduced the use of dual flash that way in the early 1970s when color prints finally became stable enough to use in wedding albums to solve the DR limit of color prints and the dilemma of getting detail in a black tuxedo and white wedding dress at the same time. The solution is very simple actually: 1) set lens aperture for desired DOF; 2) turn on FILL (on the camera axis, not off to the side) first and raise it until recording ‘Zone 2 -black with visible texture ) in the black Tux on the negative (i.e., expose for the shadows), then; 3) put the KEY flash 45° to the side of the nose, whichever direction it is pointing, and above the eye line but not so high the brow shades it (30°-40° depending on how deep-set the eyes are) then raise its power until the highlights on the dress are rendered with separation visible between the white ‘Zone 9’ beads and the ‘Zone 10’ specular highlights which on a print are the white paper base. There is about 1/3 stop difference between preserving the Zone 9 / Zone 10 solid / specular white separation (250 vs 255) in 8-bit digital.
Just put black and white towels on a stand in sunlight and photograph them in a 360° circle in flat / cross / back light and that will reveal all you need to know about camera sensor vs. scene DR and when flash needs to be added. See: photo.nova.org/FlashWhen/ and photo.nova.org/OutdoorLighting/
@@heynow2880 how comes you need sound at 120? How do you use it? Or you just want to shoot everything in 120 and slow down only what you want?
Hopefully, we can still assign function buttons to toggle between photo/video modes and on/off record settings instead of solely relying on a new camera switch to flip back and forth when we want to record video.
Button function control is something I hope they expand considerably like in some of the Cine line.
I honestly prefer my R5 to switch between photo and video using the custom settings then having that switch. The switch and me just don't function well together. On my R5 I have the function button program to do 120 frames a second and then I have the record button at 24 frames a second
@@photobeast That’s sweet! I need to try that setup. Mine only switches back and forth between camera and video. Thanks for the tidbit. I think a switch would be slower.
I want one.
Lol 45 mega pickles killed me
So wait… your title says confirmed… but these are all rumors?
Great presentation, absolutely loved it, but when is Canon going to release a camera with a GLOBAL SHUTTER?
I know you only hear what you hear, but would like to hear a bit more about the R5mkII's photo capabilities other than 45Mp back-lit, double-stacked and "really capable". The R5 is their highest resolution offering and geared toward that photographer of any offering... shame to avoid the topic. Did they give any sense of the improved DR? The auto-tracking? Contiuous shooting/buffering? Etc. Thanks for the info.
They haven’t given any info, this guy is just repeating the rumours.
The R5c shoots 12-bit raw. Unless the R5 MK II does as well, I still expect there to be a R5c MK II in 2025.
It’s fairly obvious Canon is doing its absolute best to put the rumor mills out of business. If you are unable to share information that anybody remotely interested in the R5II doesn’t already know, why do a video?
I just love making videos! I actually made a video called, "Why I make videos." Check it out.
Hmm…”wait until the end to subscribe”, yeah that does you more harm than good as people see the actual reason you requested that…your watch hours.
Confirming rumors?? Ok then. 😂😂😂
I'm a nerd too!
We are the cool ones!
Clickbait yall. Nothing is confirmed and this just rumor mill… 😢
It's not mega pickles, it's megapixels. Mega pickels takes away all professionality and sounds stupid.
Yup, I mentioned that in the comment section of his R1 video.
Long-time viewers know...
@@JBlakePhoto I guess you need to decide who your target audience is. It's hard to take a grown man serious when he pronounces the word as mega pickles. I did find your video informational, but that stuck out like a sore thumb. But you be you!
Lighten up, Francis
No more yanky my wanky, the donger needs food.
All these are rumors 😅😅😅😅😅😅
Seems foolish and just a want to get clicks to put out videos on things you know nothing about and have not been released. Maybe be upstanding and just wait!
Well I don't know anything about window tint, but I know a bit about Canon cameras.
The “confirmed specs” btw:
- Better AF (wow, no way)
- Better internal cooling (than the original R5 toaster oven? Was this in any doubt?)
- Physical video/photo switch (you mean like on every other non-entry level canon full-frame camera since the R3?)
Crazy right?!
Also, loved your canopy camping video. Butter.
After today: no r5ii. TH-camrs are not good with thier rumors.
