  • TW: mentions of addiction & suicidal thoughts.
Sasha and Sam are close friends and collaborators. Sam is a multidisciplinary, and socially engaged artist who met Sasha, who was recovering from addiction and her time experiencing homelessness, when she came to one of her art workshops. Sam’s father suffered from addiction issues and Sasha is in recovery. Both women have an interest in creativity, addiction and how healing the trauma that the addiction is trying to mask, is the key to helping people recover.
To mark the launch of Homelessness: Reframed, they sat down to discuss their experiences and how Sam was inspired to make the artwork displayed at the exhibition.

Wow! These are incredibly inspiring, as both a homeless person and as a community.

This absolutely needs talked about much more, normalizing the experience people have during homelessness. It's outrageous how many think they're better than, yet 95% of the world is a paycheck or 2 away from being homeless or destitute. Thanks for doing the interview!!
