Dude, you are a master painter,,, I see some of the colors you use in layering and I'm like"NOOO", but when you are finished it's really incredible and lifelike, absolute works of art, each one!!!
I love pike. My great aunt has a cabin on a lake in Minnesota and we go fishing there every few years when we get to visit her. The pike from that lake at least have almost no flavor of their own, just a very clean easy taste that takes on the flavor of whatever you put on it. We always just do a light flour breading with salt, pepper, and some chili powder, then shallow fry and dunk in homemade tartar sauce. Delicious.
That was spectacular. Also very on par with my 25 yrs of trout fishing. I definitely would have released that trout in the very intentional manner you did. Well done man.
Hey Marling, must say, I loved the guitar music at the beginning w/ the sped up baitmaking. It was so calming and peaceful alongside the carving of the wood. Thanks as always for the fantastic content! 💕
18:03 "Alright I wet my hand." This went from try not to hurt the trout for safe release to a "don't hook me" self defense situation real fast :) Awesome looking jerk baits dude! Wonderful video as always! Edit: And Yes, you NEED a net lol :D
Marling Baits, you and your channel, and other creators, has given me a new hobby to try and get out and enjoy. For someone like myself, who has developed a chronic illness, I have been having a difficult time finding activities that are engaging and give me joy. You have helped more than you'll ever know. Thank you, from a fan in Seattle.
It never ceases to amaze me how well you have your technique down to create such amazing action in your lures! I always look forward to what you create next!
Definitely need a net, Frabill conservation nets are my favorite, couple different sizes, some are collapsible. Carbon fiber long handle, super super light & they float most importantly! It's what I use I'm my kayak. I thought the handle is a little long at first but now I come to favor the longer handle. Helped me land my last 4 biggest largemouths this summer including my PB 9lb 3 oz - 8.6 - 8.05 - 7.4! Awesome baits as usual! & yep pike are super boney, fun to catch, not so much to eat.
Wow that was a huge brown!! Some more fishing in that spot for redemption on another huge trout is definitely in order!! Also don’t eat or kill a trout that size it could be years old and as it’s a male it’s got some great genetics for future fish!! Also small trout around a pound taste better and are usually more plentiful!! That trout was definitely in the 5 or 6lb bracket hard to tell though!!! Well done mate! 👌🎣🔥
Very nice video again, but just a tip, better use fin titan or steel leader for those baits, because in the end you get a nice pike on and it snacks off. You would lose your beautiful bait then and the pike would probably die.. But that's definitly no hate, I love your videos so much please don't understand this tip wrong.
Those baits turned out great, the pike definitely prefer it. You’ll love this, went fishing along a few streams the other day. About 3-4 hours in, minimal bites and catches, one of my friends chimes in with “heh, bet we’d be doing better if we were using Marlin Baits”. Four old men along the shore were just laughing our asses off. See the influence your having on us. We’ll keep watching and fishing. Thx!!!!
for an almost bone free pike meal, just fillet the fella. My favorite fish to catch, and great eating! I love seeing baits being made that you absolutely KNOW are gonna catch fish!
That brownie was a beast!! Big dude like that is a worthy inclusion to the gene pool though so as much as he would've tasted great, he'll definitely be out there making lots of other fish.
Smaller fish always have a better taste, especially trout, good to see ya getting on the trout bandwagon recently tho, been loving it, they fight like crazy aye 👌👌
Beautiful fishing man, definitely top fishing video from you I've seen. I've been watching since the "quiet" days. You got me into soft plastics...told the wife to blame you many times.
Greetings from a lure maker in germany ✌️. There is actually a way to easily cut 5 Filets out of the pike without those y-bones. Those Filets coated in breadcrumbs are very tasty. I really enjoy your Videos
Hey Marling, I'm from Upstate NY and catch many Pickerel and Pike, we like to fillet them and send the fillets in a meat grinder and turn them into fish balls or patties depending on how much fish you have, deep fried they are amazing
Man you are so good at what you do! It is so hard to do ever aspect of making baits. I know, I try and suck lol. Watching you paint those gills flawless amazes me
18:00 that’s a big beautiful Brown & I never keep them. I only keep Rainbows to eat, when they’re Stockers. I fish for trout mostly in KY & a few places in my home state of GA. but, that’s just me. I also don’t keep bass, unless someone is trying to remove dinks from their pond(s)…then, they’re delicious.
Might I suggest that you invest in 2 action cams. Put one in each end of the test tank under the water. Could do some videos on just testing baits that people send. Underwater shots could give you more information. But, as always, you keep knocking it out of the park!
If you really wanna eat pike and be DELIGHTED when you eat said fishy smelling fish, smoke it into pike jerky. I had it once on a fishing trip, made by a local fisherman where I was on the trip and it was scruuuuuuuumptious. The only way I actually liked eating pike. The guy gave us a bunch and that's what I ate everyday as my boat snack. 10/10 would recommend.
Catching trout with over sized jerkbaits in small streams might actually be the best thing I've ever seen 😍
Nipples on not a woman; arguably quite a bit cooler.
@@OleHickory69ayyoo 😮
Dude, you are a master painter,,, I see some of the colors you use in layering and I'm like"NOOO", but when you are finished it's really incredible and lifelike, absolute works of art, each one!!!
Your hooks are awesome like watching your TH-cam videos
Can't even lie, I'm jealous of that new spot you found. A bunch of pike and massive browns is basically my dream.
I love pike. My great aunt has a cabin on a lake in Minnesota and we go fishing there every few years when we get to visit her. The pike from that lake at least have almost no flavor of their own, just a very clean easy taste that takes on the flavor of whatever you put on it. Not to mention the way they fight! They’re actually the fastest moving freshwater species of fish known to man.
@@zap2747 i thought i hooked a whale the first time i caught a 10lb pike on spinning gear xD
а мне вообще нравится вкус щуки даже с привкусом травы
That was spectacular. Also very on par with my 25 yrs of trout fishing. I definitely would have released that trout in the very intentional manner you did. Well done man.
Hey Marling, must say, I loved the guitar music at the beginning w/ the sped up baitmaking. It was so calming and peaceful alongside the carving of the wood. Thanks as always for the fantastic content! 💕
I forgot how relaxing your videos were. You always put on the best music.
The bonus package opening killed me lmao😂. Great stuff as always man, really enjoyed the pike fishing.
18:03 "Alright I wet my hand." This went from try not to hurt the trout for safe release to a "don't hook me" self defense situation real fast :) Awesome looking jerk baits dude! Wonderful video as always! Edit: And Yes, you NEED a net lol :D
i love it when you do trout fishing because where I live in Australia there is only trout to catch.
By far the best Marling fishing I’ve ever seen. Brown trout of my dreams, as I watch from New Jersey!
Marling Baits, you and your channel, and other creators, has given me a new hobby to try and get out and enjoy. For someone like myself, who has developed a chronic illness, I have been having a difficult time finding activities that are engaging and give me joy. You have helped more than you'll ever know. The baits you make are so realistic I don’t know you you do it but keep it up man!
Love your videos man. Good to come back and see you’re still at it, gonna binge the past couple years lol
It never ceases to amaze me how well you have your technique down to create such amazing action in your lures! I always look forward to what you create next!
Hand carved is so legit and those blues in the background 👍
As you were catching that trout I was like, “he needs a net” so it was funny when you said, “I gotta get a net!” Glad you released the brown.
Definitely best vid of the year man! All of them are awesome.. but that was pretty freakin sweet. Epic editing work as always.
I think a soft plastic blob fish bait would be fun to make!
Missin your content, yay! Sunday baits day!
My man makes so many real looking lures, he forgets he can catch fish!
Master designer, master painter, master-baiter! 👍 👍
Love you fishing new baits
I love watching an artist at work.
Even your batches look amazing! Another great video!
I love the thought and consideration you put into your baits.
Definitely a man with plenty of skill.
Love your work
Nice! Love watching the process. The music while you were carving was oddly mesmerizing...
Thank you so much for making trout videos ❤I asked on your last video and you did not disappoint!!!
First off, that was a giant trout and I absolutely love those baits!!
Ahhhhh my favorite Master baiter 🤣😂
But for real he's so calming to watch
Thank you 👌
You’ve got them big cajones. Fire pit on top of a wooden deck, straight madness. I love it.

Always a great video when Chip is lurking about.
That gill crank is amazing. Fun vid, thanks bro

You got a real artistic eye.
Realistic beauty for a lure.

You would lose your beautiful bait then and the pike would probably die.. But that's definitly no hate, I love your videos so much please don't understand this tip wrong.
That transition from a live pike to a beheaded and cleaned pike was jarring. Nice video.
That music that was playing while cutting and sanding gave me some hard-core OLD school marling baits vibes
I’ve been waiting and refreshing my feed since I saw the Instagram post thank you!!!
finally a pike since I've been watching your channel, congratulations, kisses from France
At this point, I think you are a artist more than anything else ❤
Absolutely loved the guitar for the montage, im ask for this more often
Vincent Neil Emerson is one of my FAVORITE artists right now!!!
Those baits turned out great, the pike definitely prefer it.
You’ll love this, went fishing along a few streams the other day. Fillet and skin the pike, then season with Johnny's seasoning salt and dredge in flour, fry in real butter. Great eating. Have a great day.
I love your videos and the fishing in Iowa
I really liked this video thank you for making such great videos
Great work as always
those baits look really nice great job love and patience for that you do it's the answer
Does anyone else say "be free" after every release now, and also just randomly say "one day" throughout the day?
I always say be free now lol
It's o-fish-all
Yes
man I knew this day would come love this video
for an almost bone free pike meal, just fillet the fella. My favorite fish to catch, and great eating! I love seeing baits being made that you absolutely KNOW are gonna catch fish!
Its always a good day when marling baits posts 😊 love your vid bro you’ve inspired me to start making baits
Beautiful brown! And bait of course.
Dude that brown was beautiful, also I think we need a mermaid lure like that
It's like Bob Ross with fishing lures man, keep it up great work.
That brownie was a beast!! Big dude like that is a worthy inclusion to the gene pool though so as much as he would've tasted great, he'll definitely be out there making lots of other fish.
That was a gorgeous, beautiful brown!
Great video and baits love the pike fishing and we are back in the season all so thanks for all u do may the lord bless u🙏😊
You never fail to impress me man. I wish so badly I could get one of your baits. You rule. Thanks for the always great content.
They absolutely love the Big Rapala countdowns
Man your vids fill me with so much inspiration
That crank/jerkbait with the bloodline looks awesome. Absolutely perfect
Did not leave us hanging on showing the net.. I respect it. 32:32
Dude! These are impressive multi species bait. I would personally really love to see more of them in action.
Love watching your videos. Always great content. Keep up the awesome work.
In muscatine County There's a spot called deep lakes park and it has big musky 35 in and more
I really enjoyed this batch of baits.
When your lures work in the wild that well that's the most impressive of all
I learned the “I need a net” lesson the hard way myself this summer. Great vid
Loved the guitar in this video. Had me in a trance.
Such an amazing artist you are!
You make very nice baits, I'm trying to do something myself. Your painting is just madness. Respect to you
Greetings from a lure maker in germany ✌️.
There is actually a way to easily cut 5 Filets out of the pike without those y-bones.
Those Filets coated in breadcrumbs are very tasty.
I really enjoy your Videos
I was wondering if we would get a video today or tomorrow. Sure didn't think we would get one tonight. I'm happy. Thanks
This was a gem of a vid. Thanks

Nice looking baits Nate , great job
Saw the muskie and had to come watch the video right away! Congrats on the musky!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAHAHA calls for an extended get ready for winter just throw baits sent in. Maybe a QandA with the Mrs and kiddos :D
Another sweet build! Keep up the good work!
Lets go Marling!
i'm glad that you are a normal human and have yet to buy a net. That is me everytime i go out fishing.
Man you are so good at what you do! It is so hard to do ever aspect of making baits. I know, I try and suck lol. Watching you paint those gills flawless amazes me
I love trout, definitely would have kept it, but pike is amazing to eat as well
18:00 that’s a big beautiful Brown & I never keep them. I only keep Rainbows to eat, when they’re Stockers. I fish for trout mostly in KY & a few places in my home state of GA. but, that’s just me. Honestly I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your work to keep us entertained. Protect this man
At all cost 💪🏾
Great day😮👍♥️. Some great lures also.🌟⭐️🌟
Your gasp when you saw the big brown trout was so relatable 😂. Also congrats that was an awesome fish
Every day between videos I miss you
Fun to see your multi bait approach
This is so cool man.
Beast of a trout!! Congrats man!
Might I suggest that you invest in 2 action cams. Put one in each end of the test tank under the water. Could do some videos on just testing baits that people send. Underwater shots could give you more information.
But, as always, you keep knocking it out of the park!
Man it’d be so cool to see what you’d come up with if you were in the northeast, fishing for big bluefish, striper, and fluke
Your work is fantastic continue man
12 seconds in, finally some trout vids!
I like it. It's a nice bait I would love to use one here in the USA! Keep up the great work!
