Verosika's situation is probably even more heartbreaking when you take into account that she's a succubus. Her entire existence is lust and seduction. To think that she actually fell in love and let herself be vulnerable, possibly for the first time ever, only to wake up the next morning with Blitz missing, her car stolen, and credit card maxed out... I can't even imagine

You also have to keep in mind that Verosika isn't just mad that Blitzo dumped her but also because he stole her car drove it to Wrath, crashed it, and then maxed out her credit card on horse riding lessons.

I think one of the reasons Stolas described what he wants as a "rom-com" sort of romance, is that he likes to read romance novels and watch romantic TV novellas. At the beginning of this episode, Stolas was reading a romance book when Blitz showed up at his house. All that Stolas knows about romantic love is from fiction, so it makes sense that Stolas doesn't realize yet that real love is not a fairy tale nor can it be found in big romantic gestures.
As much as I loved the conversation between Stolas and Blitz, and it was sorely needed, it still shows that these two have problems communicating. Stolas is very drunk and may likely not even remember what Blitz said to him. Though Blitz is speaking openly and honestly with Stolas, yet, Blitz is using his "ghost disguise" to hide his face and avoiding eye contact with him. But when Blitz is with Verosika, he does so while pulling his disguise down, showing that he feels more comfortable talking to her than he does with Stolas.
I loved the evolutions of Stolas, Verosika and Blitzø in this episode ! And Stolas's song is amazing !
I don't know if you noticed but at 5:32 the demon named Martha was the psychopathic blonde woman who was the target of Team Blitzø in episode 1 of season 1 of Helluva Boss.
Also at 5:42 the demon with white/gray hair that appears in Martha's house is Miss Mayberry, she was the teacher who in episode 1 of season 1 had paid the Blitzø team so that they kill Martha because she had had relations with her husband and because she had become famous after surviving his murder attempt.
It appears that Martha and Miss Mayberry are now together and living in the same house in Hell despite their past conflicts.

Remember that Stolas basically had a crush on Blitz ever since they were kids, and he was his only friend. His only relationship was an arranged marriage with a psychopath who had sex purely to have an heir. His only entertainment nad companions have been books, the one he has by the pool at the start of the episode is very clearly a romance novel. Of course he has a skewed idea of what a relationship is. He's never been loved that way, and he mistook Blitz's sexual interest (used as a ploy to get the grimoire) as romantic. He and Blitz are on opposite ends of the relationship spectrum, where Blitz enters purely sexual relationships and cuts them loose to avoid getting hurt, while Stolas wants so bad to know what love is he ended up looking in the wrong places for it.
My favourite thing about this episode is the idea that Blitz himself deserves to be at the Hate Blitz party more than anyone else
I found that very interesting that Stolas really didn't know that, but that's also Moxxie's fault to a certain extent, because he knew what Strikers Holy Weapons could do, if he had made that clear to Blitz, he would have told Stolas for sure, that was miscommunication. Never assume anything...
But Stolas isn't innocent either, he didn't communicate clearly what he wanted from Blitz and Blitz didn't tell him why he felt so guilty about what happened at the circus... there is still a lot to unpack there...
You really do make a great point in their conversation at Verosika's party, they both needed to hear something that the other person was not equipped to say.
Blitzø needed Stolas to reassure him and tell him the reasons why he loved him specifically, but instead he got Stolas' deepest wish to be pursued by someone romantically. Stolas needs to get out of the fantasy that he has of Blitzø and really empathize to understand him, because I still don't think he really does yet.
Stolas needed Blitzø to say that their relationship at least meant something to him, but instead it was held back by Blitzø's self loathing, preventing him from admitting it. Blitzø needs to learn to let himself be happy and let himself get close to Stolas in order to be that person Stolas wants.
I do think at this point they're still in love with each other (man look at Blitzø when Stolas describes someone to hold, to look, to want) but both need to get over their individual issues in order to be that right person for the other.
It’s tough to empathize. Sympathy is way easier but it’s not the same thing 😢
If you were particularly pleased by the waterfall effects at the start of the episode, there's an ex-disney animator or something, that decided to go and make his OWN thing. It's called Brackenwood. Everything has this beautiful quality to it, especially the water. The man is a genius.
When I saw that little water feature, his work was ALL I could think about. Y'know, before the plot kicked in.

The reason he thought that Full Moon was going to be THE night is Stolas was calling off the transaction. He was trying to put an end to the toxicity in their relationship and move past it.
Best case scenario was that story book ending he wanted. Stolas was prepared for Blitzo to go should he not desire the relationship.
Stolas acts the way he does in the beginning because he already cut him loose and Blitzo is still trying to keep the status quo. Stolas, despite being the reason it was like that, is no longer comfortable with their relationship being that way.
the ending song really puts how everyone at that party is feeling "baby im not over it, but im over you"
they hate him, theyre over with Blitz, but they still have the trauma
The "Teen Girl Theory of Romance" is actually *Extremely Relevant* , especially for Stolas. Stolas has literally grown up in a castle, by his own baby self, raised by staff (which sounds good but is not the same as familial love; in this show it comes off as extremely repressive) seeing his father maybe one time in a decade when he gets to learn what his eternal homework will be! How could he know what (romantic) love even looks like? Has he ever even seen a kid other than Blitz?
I loved this episode 😊❤👊🏻 I’m glad blitzo was able to grow and mature in the show and have seriously good character development 😎

My interpretation of why Stolas hoped that the Full Moon date night would be the night everything clicked was simply desperation. He realized how much his relationship with Blitz meant to him back at Ozzie’s and has spent this season getting divorced, messing up with his daughter being kidnapped and tortured. He was so hopeful that he and Blitz would get a storybook ending after all that so when Blitz flaked it just kinda broke him, hence why he ended things so quickly when Blitz misread him.
At the same time Blitz does have reason to doubt Stolas. Stolas HAS talked down to Blitz in the past and while he seems to have realized how much his pet-talking hurt Blitz he seems to have not really talked that through with him. I do hope Blitz and Stolas work through it, but I also hope they BOTH reckon with how they’ve hurt the other and BOTH work together to get passed it.
The big problem is, Blitz is a little broken man, and Stolas is a man of pomp and substance, where performative interactions are just the name of the political game among him and his class. One HATES surprises, the OTHER thought it would make for a rousing crescendo.

stolas never seemed all that hopeful. he seemed like he knew setting blitz free was the right thing to do and was trying and failing to talk himself into hoping for the best.
Stolas is one of the most relatable characters for me and others in a relationship XD it’s sad and true lol
I love that we are seeing Blitz grow first, because he definitely needs to in order to help Stolas grow too. If they do end up being a thing, Blitz has to learn what he wants and how to communicate, and then he can actually sit down and make Stolas listen - something that Stolas def needs to learn how to do.
Either way, honestly, this show is great! And I think they could explore some great things with these characters both together and apart. Always love your thoughts on these!
Yeah it’s nice they are taking their time and showing how tough it is to change. It doesn’t happen as instantly as it does in a movie (granted they are on a time crunch for those 🤗)
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 absolutely! this is a huge reason why shows have, for me personally, much more rewarding relationships! (movies can start from 70 and get to 90-100 beautifully, but its a hard sell to go from 0-100 on anything less than a serial show)

Good to see Verosika is back..and you look freaking great Queen ! But.. therefore she hates Blitz so much, he lifes in her head pretty rent free for a while.. but it is really good she saw this and that was pretty nice of her to give him that cake. Blitz learned something today. We will say the outcome of this.

Very sorry to hear this. Hopefully you find an even better job in the not too distant future. I’ve dealt with depression and listlessness myself. I can’t say when things will get better, just that they will. What helped me was trying to focus on simple pleasures in life.

Millie and Moxxie, Fizz and Ozzy: both couples serve as reminders that Blitz∅'s excuse that because they live in hell, life has to be/ should be expected to be sh*tty by default, is just that, an excuse. And I'm happy nobody's giving him any slack for that excuse. There is real love, real happiness in Hell, and because of HIS OWN beliefs, he's able to justify hurting just about every form of relationship he's ever had, by underlining the fact that they live in Hell. I've had a tough existence myself, but if I went through it by giving everyone the bird, then justifying it by saying “well, I have cerebral palsy, I deserve to treat people like sh*t and y'all shouldn't expect me to treat anyone any better "... That juuuust might start to wear on people who have it worse than me, but are still able to find and appreciate the good things in life.

Stolas idea of what a relationship is has been shaped by years of misery and supressing his own sexuality. Now that the second one has been sated for a time by Blitzo, his desire for the Romance is in overdrive... None of that is his fault but he was desperate to see something in the Imp that he will never be (Something I wished he said at 15:53 instead of "thats a romcom", it should have been "...never gonna be me")

Funny how this is the less "serious" show, like there is no overarching plot like the exterminations and saving people in Hell from damnation, and yet this is the one where singing is always from a realistic opportunity/ocassion - a circus competition, a party, a bar - whileas in Hazbin Hotel they just randomly burst into songs anywhere in all kinds of situations.
Ironic....Blizto is a contract killer meaning there suppose to be stone cold killers and he is a demon....and yet he has some little inkling for his actions....guess we don't know every murderers mind set

You may wanna actually rewatch the episode for context then, before trying to push a narrative. Stolas literally said that as he was tied with sanctified rope, meaning he was actually trapped and helpless and calling for help, but he worded it like that specifically because he didn't want to be rude or pushy to Blitzø even though he was at legitimate risk of dying because he, like a lot of people in love caring about the other person beyond their own needs, didn't want to risk fucking things up and putting Blitzø off.
In fact, if Striker hadn't been keen on being a sick fuck by torturing Stolas and just killed him before Stella called him off, Stolas would have been dead long before M&M got there to fight Striker off. Blitzø didn't know that, which I'm not even blaming him for (even as a pro killer, he's very new to the actual business and wouldn't be privy to that knowledge). But Stolas is 100% justified in being miffed about it, even moreso when Blitzø reveals that he knew about Striker trying to kill Stolas already...which actually makes his flippancy about Stolas "not being able to die" make less sense because he knew from that first attempt that Striker had a holy carbine rifle specifically for killing demon royalty, which Striker *told to Blitzø directly* . So Blitzø knew what Striker could do all along which makes the second attempt even worse.
@@Mrryn Actually it was Moxxie who he told that not Blitz, Striker never told Blitz how he was gonna kill Stolas, and Blitz never bought into his speech about killing Stolas and just played along so he never actually believed that Stolas was in danger and Moxxie also didnt tell him about the blessed Carmine weapon.

To the point being made at around 33 minutes in,
The thing with Verosika that I think is interesting, is thinking about how she likely came to that point. She's a succubus, and sure both Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel have showed that there's more than meet the eyes with both sinners and demons alike. Someone like Asmodeus, the sin of Lust, being all about that consent and being in love with Fizarolli for example. But as a creature from the ring of Lust, she was probably used to treating relationships a lot like Blitz actually. Nothing to be that invested into emotionally, likely more like business than anything else. Depending how closely the Hellaverse is following up on the usual religion aspect, maybe even just a means to have her next meal and not die.
Comes along her relationship with Blitz, she has the time of her life. They have fun together even if they're from different backgrounds. He is so freeing to her, likely giving her sex casually and for the first time likely for her, it end up feeling not like just business or her meal. She opens up and find herself vulnerable for the first time in her life, fall in love. A deep love. But the second it's something deeper, the second she tell him. She scares him off and he dumps her, because he hates himself too much to understand that language. If we go by her third episode introduction though.
On top of colorful language he likely used to dump her. He left her there, stole her car to do a bunch of race with it and wreck it. And maxed up all of her credits cards. Someone did something like that in real life, and their ex would likely sue the fuck out of them. He ruined her financially, and the best recourse she likely had as a succubus, to get out from the hole he just dug out for her, fresh out of getting dumped? Jump into as much transactional sex as she could handle.
It's honestly not really that surprising she ended up falling into addiction and alcoholism, and that she hates him that much. Actually, that she's at a point she's out of rehab and doing those hate parties is more about helping others at that point? Good for her!
Oh, and sure, a lot of that is conjectures! I'm not on the creative team working on the show or anything like that, but it's easy to imagine that a lot of that could be true from what's been stated in the show at the very least!

The thing I liked with what we leaned about Verosika is not only why she hated Blitz, but the reason she throws the party. Her catharsis isn't so much to revel in her own hatred, but rather offering something for all the others going through some form of a similar feeling towards blitz...Which is a concerning amount of people it turns out.
Definitely Not Definitive That was Martha and the teacher that tried to get Martha killed back in S1E1. That was a real blitz pushie from there merch that was on fire. That statement by blitz to Verosika was so important now because Blitz may have realized that he must change now if he is going to get Stolas back and have better relationships with others, he's aggressive attitude is not going to work anymore, the hope is that the advice from Verosika and others can cause change to him before it's too late.

This isn't so much about Stolas forgiving Blitz. Once Blitz gets his ACT together and he stops hating himself so much, this WHOLE THING is going to take a VERY big turn.
We just need him to keep realizing his self worth and I think alot of people including several from this party, are going to come together for him when times comes.

Stolas is a gay man who was forced to marry a woman - and Stella isn't exactly pleasant to be around either. It's the only relationship he's ever been in, prior to reconnecting with Blitzø as an adult. He craves a proper relationship with someone he actually cares about, but he's never had that, nor has he had his parents model a loving relationship (we never met his mom and his dad didn't even know his name). His only frame of reference for what a relationship is supposed to look like are romance novels and hell-a-novellas, so his idea of "true love" is highly romantizised. What it boils down to is a lack of real life experience, which is probably why you're getting "teen girl" vibes from him
3 things, but first to be clear i still think Blitzo was an asshole to many people. my comments below are not trying to negate or ingore the faults or mistakes Blitzo made. however everyone seems to be on team Stolas. so his point doesnt need to be explained by me.
1. The Striker incident isnt fair. He was taking his daughter to the vet for her mandatory shot so she doesnt get sick because he cares for Loona. And he knows he is the only one She trusts enough to bring her. To add to that point Stella ordered intial hit, that Blitzo DID stop, and openly talked about it on the phone right across from Stolas. If stolas had bothered to listen to her he wouldve known about the first hit., and a potentional follow up.
2. Stolas claims he never looks down on Blitzo, but he refers to Blitzo as " imp" many times, which in Blitzos experiecne is an insult, of rank and class. Not to mention, Blitzo was BOUGHT for loose change, and a condom. by Stolas's father. to be his friend. As far as Blitzo is concerned he is just Stolas's pet, a thing to amuse him. and Stolas hasnt done that much to break that sterotype. Stolas hasnt one time asked Blitzo how HE feels in the relationship. Stolas assumed he felt trapped or caged, but BLitzo felt fine as he said " it is a tranactional fucking" Stolas added his own opinions, forced them on Blitz, bumrushed him with an ultimatum. and then refused to try and understand how Blitzo felt.
3. Notice how Blitz slides between the banisters mimicking being a prisoner, but Verosika kicks the bannister so she can be free and have her legs normal. he feels trapped even though he was given "freedom" from stolas.
Stolas new relation is much healthier
He made out drunkenly at a party. Calling it a relationship is jumping the gun a little.

This episode really cause some emotional damage for Blitz but we can clearly see that he is making some progress of doing better in his lifetime out there. But we might have to wait a bit longer to see if he is going to change or progress moving downwards to make a mess of himself.
Here is stuff I noticed:
•It seems to confirm that Mrs. Mayberry and Martha are a couple. As both are characters from S1 Ep1 and looking very different but more polished from their previous designs.
•Blitz seems to have done some amazing apologetic things from previous episodes characters to his fallen of exs out there
•Robo Fizz in Loo Loo Land survived the fall of the Fair grounds as we can see him smiling in the dark shadows
•When Blitz gone to the human surface to give a speech at a Memorable Event, the people who died was Brandon Rangers and the Director from S2 Ep Seeing Stars
•The Bouncer from S1 Ep 7 came back for the apology tour
•In the human surface the old man is voiced by Brandon Rogers who played as “Grandpa” 😅
•There be people in Halloween costumes nods to Movie “It” and Imp
•In the party scene, there are demons dressed up as Freddy Kruger and a Sailor
•Also at the party, there is a couple of succubuses that cosplay as Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn
•The party is a reference to “Scott Pilgrim v The World” movie
•There be a Real life version of Blitz Plushy being lit on fire 😅
So there might be more reference in this episode but those are the big ones I can notice so far. I might miss some but I like to share the ones I know so far. 😅
So next episode is going to be interesting with it coming out in October and named “GhostFuers” but during the meantime. So during the meantime some more Helluva Shorts are coming for the moment of the full episodes coming months later. Keep an eye out for them during monthly updates or releases.

I feel no sympathy for Stolas. They're in this situation because of him. Stolas was the one that went all weinstein with the quid pro quo for the book. Stolas catches feelings and suddenly now blitz is the bad guy? He was just sticking to their original deal.
Well, if you were a mature person you should have sympathy for both of them because remember that the first episode of the second season blitzø excited him Having sex with him which is wrong because he was doing it to get the book.
Another thing, Stolas in the first episodes was not very good, so to speak, so he changed over time and he was the only one who decided to change and I don't justify Stolas but neither do I justify blitzø
Because even if Blitzø has trauma, it doesn't give him the right to hurt people who try to get close to him. The thing that gives him the crystal could have been another boy and he simply took the book away from him.
And Stolas is not good at communicating with him and had to be clearer with his feelings just like blitzø
Funny that Stolas says he has never looked down on Blitzo before.. but he actually has a handful of times, with the only real last noticeable time happening in Ozzie's (Which is also the same episode that "birthed" Stolas' romantic feelings towards Blitzo being a new part of his character, when prior to that it has always just been sexual.)
24:46 Um...it's actually the opposite. *Stolas* was the one giving Blitzø a break from the "sex thing" for months, hence Loona's comment about Stolas becoming "bored" with Blitzø and Blitzø going on that shopping spree in Lust to spice things up.
Blitzø even said it outright, in his Stolas: "Oh Blitzy, it's okay. We don't have to if you don't want to." It hadn't actually been anything transactional for months and that was the point: Stolas didn't like it being transactional, started it like that as a means to help Blitzø continue his business (even though it breaks demon law) and to stay close to Blitzø, but he wanted more from it always and that night was the night he could finally either break off the "transactional" from the relationship or allow Blitzø to be free if he wasn't interested. Because that was the day the Asmodean crystal that Stolas had gotten specifically for Blitzø, as a favor from Ozzie (which we saw Stolas go and ask him for, in the episode where Fizz and Blitzø were kidnapped), was available and registered.
I understand you guys like Blitzø but I feel now it's gotten to the point where the bias is subconsciously rewriting narrative points in your mind. lol The only fair point you made was about Stolas's steeling himself to express himself and not necessarily do the same for Blitzø, but even then you ignore that Stolas was being very honest and upfront, gave him the choice if he was interested, and in the beginning expressed not just how insanely nervouse he was but that he was bent on ending it, whether he said yes or no...and Blitzø responded by making it all a joke. Stolas gave Blitzø the floor, to say anything, even to just say he doesn't know, and Blitzø just mocked him. And it's not even that Stolas just turned away and threw Blitzø out - they had a whole back and forth where, even when Blitzø realized Stolas was serious, he still never got serious and upfront either, just mad and deflecting.
You act like Stolas had the night planned and expected it all to go a certain way and got butthurt when it didn't when really...that was Blitzø. Blitzø expected his new tricks and toys and charm would have the night go a specific way and anything that was said was just play into that narrative. Stolas, if anything, was steeling himself against rejection but willing to do it anyway because the transactional relationship wasn't right - he was hopeful, he was hurt, but he handled it about as well as he could and never being disrespectful or petty even when he could have.
you missed a few points about that night:
first of all, stolas wasn't on his antidepressants, so not the best start for a topic like that.
Second, he planned it for a while, so as you said he was prepared either wy, but blitz wasn't, he had no time to get the situation, he actuvated his selfmechanism of selfdestruction when faced with a situation so sudden (he even say "can i get a minute to think about this?") while stolas already made up his mind without letting him say anything about it, that's why blitz felt betrayed too, you see him cry when raging out and, as soon as he noticed stolas crying and thus understaning it was real, he immediately stopped raging and tried to talk to him.
Also, it's funny when stolas says "when did i ever looked down on you?" when he was the one only wanting to do it in the beginning and calling him "his little imp" and things ike that, then changed his mind without telling blitz, and somehow it's blitz's fault for not believing him?
They both are at fault but for different reasons
