This figure beats all of the other brands by far articulation and cape option wise. The Mafex price point is a bit painful, but it looks like the winner by far.
I agree!!! I was in the middle of searching where to buy this figure and when he said the price point was going to be over $100 I closed my tabs!!
This figure looks great!! And probably a lot more sturdy and durable than those dc collectibles. Those looked great but couldn’t do much in articulation and very fragile so this is great for more poses. Fantastic review!!!
The only thing that kills it for me are the ball joints you can see in his wrists and ankles

Thanks for comparing him next to the DCC Superman. I was hoping this MAFEX Bats would fit in better scale with him, but oh well. It's actually a relief because I don't actually have that Supes and would probably feel the need to get it if they did match
Anyways I'm excited to get one of these. It's the TNBA Batman I always wanted when DC Collectibles' attempt fell a bit short (in terms of articulation and QC)- and I'm sure a classic BTAS version isn't far behind, and I'm really hoping for a Terry Mcginnis
That grapple is wrong, thats from the old design not the new adventures.

I wish they do Justice League Animated line. Because it's quite visible that they can bring the cartoonish face very accurately.
I felt anxious when you started posing him, I was just waiting for something to break(I still remember the horror of Mafex Aquaman review).
When it comes to mold, other versions of Mafex Batman are sturdier, but nostalgic hits hard, and I can proudly say I love this figure so much! I can’t remember pulling the trigger to buy a Mafex release this quick.
I think he looks great it’s just why are his accessories from the animated series instead of the new adventures?! How do you get something so wrong?!
Yeah, it's the wrong Grapnel launcher and Batarang. Both gadgets are actually from the original BTAS, that were redesigned for the TNBA revamp.
I'm on the fence, I really love this design of Batman but I'm not sure if I want to pay over a $100 for this figure or not!
The ball joint showing so much on the hands kills it for me

The ankles looked like the most worrisome part to me, glad to hear they’re sturdy! Love how this guy looks, feels like an HD remake of the old Hasbro toys.

Nice figure, wish it was the original BTAS look rather than the later TNBA redesign though. Hoping they do a Batman Beyond though!

I am torn on this guy. I preordered him for the Bruce Wayne head alone. Then when I saw reviewer photos I decided to cancel my preorder. I am just running out of space to put everything and honestly I think the DC Direct version is better. I think the Mafex plastic looks too shiny. The articulation looks great but I think it is breaking the sculpt too much for my taste. I will probably be kicking myself a year from now that I cancelled my preorder though.
Just picked up this figure and yeah it can’t stand on its own to save its life. Good figure though.
I'd get this in a heart beat if he didn't have standing balance issues
The grapnel and Batarang aren’t correct for this figure. Those were what he used season 1-3. The figure is the redesigned season 4. C’mon Mafex. Do better.
I really like it when they make Batman massive. Gives me Frank Miller vibes.
Yiks! All the joints look loose.....and i dislike joints that makes the figure looks floppy and like its gonna break at any moment.
Looks great. Although I'll skip, and pick up the inevitable BTAS version.

I'm wondering if the mafex black Batman hush hands fit this Batman as I would like different hand poses.

While TNBA variant was always my least favorite style; this toy looks great. Bruce's hair makes the design looks like he did in Justice League.
Do you think the feet should be one solid piece or have posability since the feet are so tiny like in the cartoon?
How old were you when the first batman animated series came out?
Skin tone on face looks very pale compared to the DC Collectibles versions. I still prefer the DC Collectibles Animated JL Batman in terms of looks & price but this guy is pretty much superior otherwise. Thanks for the detail review.

Those are the worst designed wrists Ive seen on a Mafex figure. Worse than Mcfarlane placement, and that's saying something. Why are the balljoints so exposed. Looks like they will snap off in a fall. BTAS is my favorite DC property atleast until the New Adventures started and the animation style changed. This design is doing the figure no favors.
I think I'll stick with my DC collectibles line, thanks. The arm joints on this Mafex look like trash. And for $100?!? BWAHAHAHA
