I am very surprised that you didn't recognize any of the members. The Traveling Wilburys are probably the best super group that ever happened (by accident).
To be fair, several of them were already in the twilight of their careers at the point the video was made. Roy Orbison literally died 2 months after the album was released, and before the music video for "End of the Line" could be recorded, causing him to be replaced with a picture in the video.
Can't believe there are American people who don't recognise Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. Not to mention George Harrison, only one of the Beatles (Have you heard of them?) and Geoff Lynn from ELO. Every member of that band was an absolute legend.
The Traveling Wilburys is a rock supergroup from 1988, made up of Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, & Jeff Lynne. They had a lot of great songs such as "End Of The Line", "Heading For The Light", "Inside Out", "Tweeter & The Monkey Man", "Dirty World", "Last Night", "She's My Baby", "Rattled", "Nobody's Child", "Congratulations" etc. Sadly only 2 guys are now left from this group (Bob Dylan & Jeff Lynne).
Plus the drummer is no slouch either: Jim Keltner, who is a well-known session drummer who's played on almost literally everybody's records at one time or another.
Sadly Roy died before they finished doing the music videos for the original WIlburys album 😭 Poor guy was having a serious comeback explosion of new recording work, and then he just up and died in December of the year the album was released at only 52 years old.
@@mnomadvfx admittedly all i know is from george, tom petty, etc, but what I do know about roy from everything is that he would probably be SO proud about the wilburies. he was such a talent.
This was a gathering of legends... George Harrison of The Beatles (lead singer) and Roy Orbison (2nd lead vocals) with Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne of E.L.O. and Tom Petty doing harmony/backup vocals. Other Wilbury videos to watch are "End of the Line", "She's My Baby" and "Wilbury Twist".
Great song. The guy with the short black hair was the late Roy Orbison. The one with the hat was the late Tom Petty. The leadsinger was George "quiet beatle"Harrison! Bob dylan had the curly hair and the guy with the dark shades on is Jeff Lynne from ELO!
the hat is Tom Petty, the older sunglasses is Roy Orbison, youve also got Bob Dylan, jeff Lynde of ELO (bearded sunglasses), and George Harrison of the Beatles.
The Video for the Traveling Wilbury's song "End of the Line" wound up being a beautiful tribute to the bands fallen comrade Roy Orbison , who had sadly passed away between the time of this , the bands 1st video .
SO NOT 60s lol. Just 60s performers. ELO (Lynn), Petty, Rob Orbison, Dylan, Harrison from The Beatles... I knew Pop knew it. Great that you're back Kathy (Cathy).
I too was surprised you didn't recognise Roy Orbison! The idea for the band (who played between 1988 and 91 or 92) came in 1987 when George Harrison (Beetles) was working with Jeff Lenne (Electric Light Orchestra) on Harrison's album. I'm not entirely sure how they got the others involved or where the name "The Travelling Willburys" came from. Each if the 5 founding members adopted the surname "Willbury" for the time they played together. Orbison died in 1988 but his 2 sons Alex and Roy jnr joined the band. What a great collaboration of talent and a fantastic reaction!
Love ya mans honesty, someone his age did'nt know any of 'em. Wonder what he was listening to in his "middling years". All these lads were around then.
The first singer was George Harrison from the Beatles. The other four are superstars as well. Roy Orbison was from way back in the 50s, making a name for himself as one of the top vocalists, who did rock and ballads. Jeff Lynne was the main guy in 70s ELO. Tom Petty had the long blond hair and passed away not long ago. Bob Dylan with the curly hair- everyone knows Bob Dylan, all-time folk icon. Only Bob and Jeff are still around.
George Harrison (The Beatles), Roy Orbison (Roy Orbison), Bob Dylan (Bob Dylan), Tom Petty (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers) and Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra aka ELO). Probably the greatest SUPERGROUP ever formed. You may not know their faces and voices, but you MUST recognize their names. This was recorded in the 1980's. Roy Orbison, he of the falsetto voice, passed just as the album was being released. This is the only video he made with the others.
Love the Wilburys! George Harrison wrote this as a B side for one of his singles from his Cloud Nine album. One of the producers thought it was too good for a B side, so they wrote a whole album worth of songs and formed the group.
All muscicians at the top of their game. All of them han been in groups before. Your own Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty. Uk bands, George Harrison of the Beatles and Geof Lyn of ELO and the session drummer. All at the top of their careers just strumming and playing together, not trying outdo anyone and making music because they could. Brilliant
A few years back I was playing this album at home when my eldest son came over to the home and said this is good stuff, who is this? He read the album liner notes about the Wilbury family he ask if there brothers. Ha ! I gave him there alias names like Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, and Bob Dylan. He was really, no s#%t dad that cool. I went out and purchase the album for him. 😄
Little shocked you guys don't know these guys! All HUGE in Music, this is the most Iconic SuperGroup. George Harrison (The Beatles), Bob Dylan (Superstar singer/songwriter from the late 60s), Tom Petty (From Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, a HUGE band from the late 70s-90s), Roy Orbison (Icon from the origins of rock in the 50s/60s) and Jeff Lynne (the musical genius and leader of ELO - The Electric Ligh Orchestra...over 20 Top 40 hits in the 70s/80s)
3 music/rock Hall of Famers and 2 more that will be unfortunately there are only 2 of the 5 left alive they got together by accident as friends to have fun and wrote/.recorded several hit songs in the late 80's and early 90's
To paraphrase that line from "CASABLANCA" (1942) "I'm shocked, shocked to find that SUCH MUSICAL IGNORANCE is going on in here!" Sadly, it's not a shock but wholly to be expected of these nice (living under a rock - & roll -) people. Such cluelessness is quite discouraging and both similar and perfectly emblematic of the M.A.G.A. "lemmings".
How the heck do you not recognize Dylan Tom Petty Jeff Lynn and a Beatle? The man wrote here comes the son. George Harrison. Greatest Beatles song ever. Everybody knows that song.
C'mon kids...George Harrison... Tom Petty... Bob Dylan.... ROY ORBISON???.. and okay, maybe you wouldn't recognize Jeff Lynne (from ELO)... these guys were amazing! glad you like the music, though... :)
There must be a large rock above your house if you are reviewing music but have no idea who the Willbury's were ? The one and only Supergroup made up up the greatest musicians in the last 50 years.
2:13, 5:36 shows that you think you need to listen to more Roy Orbison. I'm 67 and teach 20-40 year olds, so I'm no longer amazed at what people don't know anymore. I don't think you could find 6 performers (the drummer is a legend too, but didn't consider himself worthy to be a true Wilbury)) who have sold more records. Truck is a 53-56 Ford. (Iconic is its own right).
So, this is a weird, bizarre video you have made, because this music is being made by some of the most famous musicians/singer/songwriters in the world and you guys are spending half the video playing up your ignorance.
My God, you've got the Mount Rushmore of rock staring you in the face!
This is perfect description of them! Definitely the Mount Rushmore of rock!
It is truly amazing that there is no recognition of some of the greatest (and most famous) musicians of the late 20th century.
I am very surprised that you didn't recognize any of the members. The Traveling Wilburys are probably the best super group that ever happened (by accident).
To be fair, several of them were already in the twilight of their careers at the point the video was made.

*Jeff Lynne.
Yeah, these young up and comers have a bright future. Hope they make it someday!
Hahaha Well said

Super group is an understatement more like mega group

😂 Jesus f****** Christ if you don't understand who this band is why are you doing this podcast?

All legends from classic rock. 💯🔥
and you didn't even check who they were after listening to it? GOOD GRIEF!
lol. Some of the greatest musicians ever.
Some people think that is five superstars. It isn't , it's six - the guy on drums is Jim Keltner.
aka Buster Sidebury 😁
Great song. The guy with the short black hair was the late Roy Orbison. The one with the hat was the late Tom Petty. The leadsinger was George "quiet beatle"Harrison! Bob dylan had the curly hair and the guy with the dark shades on is Jeff Lynne from ELO!
The 'Super Group' to end all 'Super Groups'. Wow. 🙋♂🙋♂🙋♂🙋♂🙋♂
The greatest super group ever.So sad that only Bob Dylan an Jeff Lynne are the only remaining members.Rest easy Roy,George and Tom.
the hat is Tom Petty, the older sunglasses is Roy Orbison, youve also got Bob Dylan, jeff Lynde of ELO (bearded sunglasses), and George Harrison of the Beatles.
Awesome lineup of Talent ! R I P Roy, George and Tom
Nice video / song.
Shocked you didn't recognise the biggest artists in music history.
The guy with the short black hair was the legendary Roy Orbison. Amazing that you have never heard of possibly the best singer ever.
I love the mix of reactors guys! Reluctant as it may be lol. Great band, great performers. But you know all of them! I swear it!!!
The Video for the Traveling Wilbury's song "End of the Line" wound up being a beautiful tribute to the bands fallen comrade Roy Orbison , who had sadly passed away between the time of this , the bands 1st video .
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers performed this at their 30th anniversary concert in 2006.
I like their song End of the Line. It is very upbeat.
In order of appearance, (Beatle) George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan joined by Jeff Lynn (ELO). 1988 (or 89)
LOVE the Wilburys. Feel sad that you didn't recognize any of them.
I'm amazed that you did'nt recognise any of these legends of music,...even my dog knew Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan.
My fav song of Travelìng willburys
"End of the Line" is another great Traveling Wilbury's song
SO NOT 60s lol. Just 60s performers. ELO (Lynn), Petty, Rob Orbison, Dylan, Harrison from The Beatles... I knew Pop knew it. Great that you're back Kathy (Cathy).

The term supergroup is often bandied about - THIS IS A TRUE SUPERGROUP !!! ( BTW - Can't believe you didn't recognise ANY of them 🤷♂ )
Tweeter and the Monkey Man were hard up for cash. My favorite Wilburn song and one heck of a story
Love ya mans honesty, someone his age did'nt know any of 'em. Wonder what he was listening to in his "middling years". All these lads were around then.
check out the end of the line by them, think it's the one where they put a guitar on the chair as a tribute to Roy Orbison who had just died.
They didn't put out many songs, but, oh man, just greatness.
That's because Roy Orbison died before the 2nd album came out and they had his guitar in a rocking chair in a later video
The first singer was George Harrison from the Beatles. The other four are superstars as well. Roy Orbison was from way back in the 50s, making a name for himself as one of the top vocalists, who did rock and ballads. Jeff Lynne was the main guy in 70s ELO. Your guest should be old enough to remember these guys
Biggest super group ever
kathy another great song from the traveling wilburys is called "the end of the line"
George Harrison (The Beatles), Roy Orbison (Roy Orbison), Bob Dylan (Bob Dylan), Tom Petty (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers) and Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra aka ELO). you have george harrison from the beatles jeff lynn from elo bob dylan tom pety and the short black haired guy is roy orbison
Very surprised you didn't recognize Roy Orbison or Bob Dylan. Orbison, Harrison and Petty have now passed.
Might have been around 1988, before December 6, because that’s when Roy Orbison passed away
The super group of super musicians, Tom Petty is so easily recognizable.
The only group I know called Handle With Care are a good English pub covers band used to play with another good English pub band called White Onion
Tom Petty ,George Harrison, Jeff Lynne ,Roy Orbison, And Bob Dylan!
A few years back I was playing this album at home when my eldest son came over to the home and said this is good stuff, who is this?

Working title was "Candle With Hare" in the first place...
Handle with care when listening to Hocus Pocus by Focus....
why dont you google for information on them all 5 are rock ledgens
Actually, the one member of the group looked like Roy Orbison..
If it looks like Roy Orbison, sings like Roy Orbison, plays like Roy Orbison - then it IS Roy Orbison!!
Unbelievable that you didn't know any of the band 😮
The picture of a very young Roy Orbison doesn't look as though he was afflicted with albinism. I always heard that he was.
How can you not recognise Tom Petty, Roy Orbison or Bob Dylan let alone George Harrison from the Beatles or Jeff Lynne from ELO?
How big are you, when your backup singers are the legendary Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and Bob Dillon, and Roy Orbison...they say that was George's group
3 music/rock Hall of Famers and 2 more that will be unfortunately there are only 2 of the 5 left alive they got together by accident as friends to have fun and wrote/.recorded several hit songs in the late 80's and early 90's
Pretty sure all 5 of them are in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
✌️
Roy’s voice so buttery smooth
It's one of the saddest too, in my view, 6948. He always sounds "haunted" to me. ( Yes, i know his history, btw. )
The best All-Star group EVER assembled: George Harrison (Beatles), Tom Petty, Roy Orbison. Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne (ELO).
You should listen to 'End of the Line'.

Just Google Travelling Wilburys...do some research.

Wow, just wow. Five legends and you have no clue who they are. I'm embarrassed for you.
i guess you are both too young to recocnize these guys i am 70 and they are the superstars of my twenties.
You shouldn’t be doing these reviews if you don’t recognize some of the biggest stars in rock history.
