Hi there I live in Scotland I’ve been a woodworker for about 30 years I’m 52 now, your awesome love the way you work, love the way you show your mistakes and you don’t pretend to be the best, but anyway you are great and can’t wait to watch more of your stuff, just thought I make a comment, bye for now, Colin🏴
Hi there all the way from Jordan. I am not a woodworker and don’t think I have the patience to learn at my 48 years. I am, however, a pediatrician who is always on the lookout for relaxing videos to watch as I wind down from a full day in a clinic of screaming children. Although there may be a lot of different woodworking channels, your voice is smooth and relaxing. I wanted to thank you for your art, and to let you know that you’ve helped me forget my daily grind with your voice. Thanks!
I'm a 67 year old daughter of a lifelong woodworker. I have a bit of a hard time with bow ties, but these two really did look pretty nice! You have a great talent!
Hi from England. As someone who is incapable of hammering a nail in straight, I’m in awe of talented craftsmen. I like your commentary style and the results are outstanding.
I'm a painter and I have to work for myself because if I work for other people they get mad at me for spending hours sanding and filling. What I'm trying to say is, I bloody love your channel
Alabama, Cam I watch all of your videos all the way to the end, I have no idea how anyone could turn them off in the middle. I usually don't comment, but this table, and why you're doing it, was too important not to say thank you. Jimmy
Arkansas. I am very happy for (and jealous of) the person who won this table. What a gorgeous piece of work! "Heirloom quality" is an understatement. Just amazing.
Netherlands, Utrecht. You often talk about color stains on the wood if you wouldn't do a clear coat first. Do you have a project video that shows it happening?
As a boilermaker, which is a very slow trade. I appreciate the time you take with your work. Metal work is extremely slow and so I appreciate this sort of master craftsmanship. I have watched about 15 of your videos in the last few days because covid and I also enjoy your commentary.
Hey Cam, don’t need a response this time. But just to follow your rules, I’m in SW Michigan, and kinda new to woodworking. I’ve been shaping skateboards for many years now, and just recently started moding and customizing pieces around the house. To that end, I just wanna thank you for all the tiny bits of info you include on this channel and in your videos. I can almost always skim thru a video and, from memory, find where you taught us just how to do the thing no one else even mentions. Props!
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection th-cam.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
What a delight to watch your videos. Thank you for sharing all your tips. You strike a perfect balance to show the detailed steps, your craftsmanship, and not bore the audience with too long videos. Well done !
Hi Cam, I just recently subscribed. I'm quite impressed with your woodwork, videos and channel. I started my woodwork journey more than 30 years ago as an apprentice high end joiner (timber windows and doors). In my first 10 years I made several pieces of furniture in my spare time which I'm happy to say are mostly still alive at various family member houses. Then with family growing, leaving joinery (and fully equiped workshop) to carpentry, no more hobby woodworking. Now, over the past few years been studying university and with all the extra time and not using tools everyday my passion for woodworking is reviving, I also have an interest in filming and editing came about with countless hours holding the camera on my skateboarding kids. All the best to you. ps. I like the talking in videos. over the years I have watched many no talking metal/woodwork and craft videos and its a soothing affect yet I never watch anymore videos from the channel, yet I came back to yours and have watched many since.
Irving, Texas... Your low, well-modulated voice, adds to the quality of your product. I'm 86 and back in the day I did some wood working in Portland and Salem. Now, due to the side effects of chemotherapy, I'm restricted to a recliner, but have watched many of your videos. Thanks for helping me through the days and nights.
Very nice! I’ve picked up so many tips from you, over time, including sharp short chisels for inlays (bow ties) the use of glue vs epoxy for no dark lines. Thanks for everything you pass on and share
Yukon! Not even a woodworker but I am an artist, love beautifully figured wood, and really appreciate the aesthetic you bring to your projects. Would love to see more in spalted woods and curly maple.
New South Wales, Australia. I find your videos so therapeutic to watch and listen to. I turn 40 this year, but when I grow up I wanna be just like you.
Maybe the prettiest piece of wood I've ever seen. Had to watch till the end for the close in shots. The bowties came out flawless with that technique. Gorgeous.
Finland. I totally loved this video, the table you built is so beautiful! I’m hoping to build something similar in the future for our home, once I’ve gotten a bit more experience in woodworking.
Regarding what chisels to buy, I once took a course at Rosewood Studio outside of Ottawa, Canada and a discussion arose about what type of steel to choose when given the choice for a chisel or plane. We were told harder steels keep an edge much longer than softer steels, of course, but you can get a slightly sharper edge with softer steels and they're easier to sharpen. A comment from someone very experienced was passed onto us; the person said he'd always choose the softer steel because he didn't want to be tempted to use a less than very sharp chisel just because it took too long to sharpen it. I think it was good advice, in part because the more you sharpen blades, the easier and faster it gets so you're much more likely to keep your tools razor sharp.
Virginia! I was keeping a close eye on all the tools you're using. I have a 30 x 30 shop in the works (new build) and hope to be doing this type of woodworking when I retire from the construction industry!
Texas USA, hey Cam, with the design of the leg attachments is the C-channel necessary when the table is assembled or are they a precaution for warp age if the table is left disassembled for periods of time? Thanks for the videos. I am close to starting my own table your information has been so valuable.
Hello from New York. Great video and awesome table. Watching your videos is teaching me so much. I have the same question, though. What are the purpose of the c channels?
Great video! One of my favorite tables you've made. I really like the live edge you left on the corner. I finally finished my first table thanks to all of you're great videos. I left the live edges but really don't like one of the sides. In general do you think it would look bad if three of the sides were straight cut and one side is live edge?
Cam, on this video at the 12:25 mark, you are showing and then filling the small pockets/holes in the epoxy pour. Visible in the shot are open grain “pockets” of the walnut. Does the would sufficiently fill during the finish stain and or final surface coating? If the wood holes fill then, why would the epoxy holes also not fill so that the whole surface is smooth? You are an awesome motivation to get back to some projects that I have wanted to do. Thank you for sharing your skills, experience with different products, and being honest about your cough-cough, errors/mistakes! MAPPA was an amazing build and I wished that it had gone for higher than it did! I look forward to each of your video postings… Have a Blessed Easter!
Montana: Absolutely love this table. I’d love to have one like it in my retirement home. I do have a question, however. Which edge do you prefer: live edge or straight? Or is your feeling about the edge dependent on the slab itself? I’m not a woodworker and possess none of your obvious skills, but it would seem that some slabs lend themselves to a live edge finish and others to a straight edge. I found myself gravitating to the straight edge finished pieces because I like the clean look, but a few of the live edge pieces in your numerous videos have tremendous appeal as well. I guess I am interested in what you tend to favor between the two, if you do favor one over the other. PS: I thoroughly enjoy all your videos…and commentary for us lay people. Great stuff!
Cam, I was wondering how big of crack you have to have before you put in a bow-tie vs just epoxy. As always great work! Brazil PS post one video and around the world in 60 minutes!
Beaverton, OR (do I go the top of the list for being a neighbor lol): My question is this. What are the best places you recommend to get legs? Are they all fabricated by someone you know personally, or do you get them from somewhere?
Okay, I've watched a few dozen of these videos and they're very impressive. However, I absolutely hate, hate, hate looking at those bow ties! Can't you put them on the bottom? It breaks up the beautiful grain lines and makes the table look like it's been repaired. Perhaps it's my OCD, but if I were going to get a beautiful table like that, I would not want to look at those ugly bow ties. JMO
NSW Australia. I like watching your videos and your voice is like a soothing background murmur though I can still understand what you are saying. I like it better than some music people put in their videos.
North Carolina- I am addicted to your videos. I enjoy seeing something beautiful emerge from the slab of wood and your narrative completes the package!
Hey! Just chiming in after you mentioned actually caring about comments. Live in MA and epoxy flexes a bit here. Do lots w West System stuff and have good results. Just wanted to say "Nice Work!" Keep up the good content and proud that you can produce on and from TH-cam. My buddies and I always joke about doing it. Have tons of GoPros and lots of WW Skills. Maybe we shall try...
I'm from Saudi Arabia, Eastern region, I keep watching your art work and every time to blow my mind for how much professional your work and how uniq each piece...
Hi I'm from New Zealand and I just love the work you do I've never seen tables and desk like you make keep the videos going l will keep watching God Bless
Austin Texas... I used to work in a furniture and cabinet shop here in town about 17 years ago (seems like just yesterday). I got out of the industry years ago to chase dollars and stability (not saying that's the thing to do, it's just the thing I did) and I got to tell you watching you build these pieces and listening to your calming voice explain away the devil in your details is inspiring me to get the saw blades and router bits spinning again. My wife and I are in the process of remodeling our 2 car garage space to better milk out both of our needs into one space and your videos have me reinvigorated with new excitement about going through the 17 years of scrap bin material to make some new pieces for the house. Thanks for putting up all your awesome content to help motivate me to get back into something I used to get so much enjoyment out of. Good Work.
Hi, I'm from the UK. I would just like to say what an absolute pleasure of us to watch you work and the running commentary is a bonus. Keep up the beautifully high standard of work. Well done.
S.M. CA...... Simple (by the standards of some of you builds), but one of the best looking end results I've seen yet. Wish I'd know about this channel sooner. I would have love a chance to own it.
Deux Sevres France. Just found your videoes. I know not your intention, and I know nothing of woodworking, have never even lifted a chisel but watching you work, and seeing such beautiful creations at the end, is so restful. Thanks.
Latvia, Baltic States. Man, thank You for everything You do, I'm a carpenter for about 10 years and just started to build my own shop. This knowledge you're passing is amazing and inspired me to start my own channel. I'm small , but growing constantly. Had my first experience with epoxy , because of your videos, so thank You for that. It's amazing what can be achieved with this material.
South coast of the UK, love watching your videos…………always watch them to the end as you could miss something you could learn from. Just wish I had the space and tooling you have, I love working with wood as it’s feels so natural and alive in your hands.
Having grown up in the heart of myrtle wood country, it was exciting to see you build with a big slab of myrtle wood. Usually, small items are made from this beautiful wood. I have a myrtle wood bowl that was my Mom's from myrtle wood grown in Coos County since that's where we lived and she worked for the USFS, 30 years and the bowl was a reward for... I'm not sure at this point now. It is such a beautiful wood and so unique. Thank you for making it even more beautiful.
Holy Guacamole, that is a really gorgeous table. Thanks for the video. I do watch them all the way through, but don't have a shop to build with, just enjoy watching real craftsmen work. I just built my project table, outside under my solar shade structure, I'm sticking to gardening projects here in Thailand. My buddy is growing some teak up north though, will turn him onto your site. Thanks again, really inspiring videos.
Montreal, Canada. After a brutal day on the forklift, watching your videos and listening to your commentary is soothing and relaxing. Love the pieces you create - too bad I couldn't afford it for myself. Keep up the great job.
I know this is not your latest video, I pretty much watch those right away, but I wanted to finally take some time and leave you a comment somewhere. X) I love your videos, I appreciate how much narration you include and I absolutely love that you don't have music in the background. I have a auditory processing disorder and it is so nice and relaxing that I can just watch and listen to what you are saying. :) Thank you for doing that, thank you for not being like some other channels which have way too loud music (for me) playing and I can't hear the voice anymore because of the disorder. I absolutely love your work aside of all that, too. You're amazing. Thank you for being a creator.
No need to answer this 'Texas' girl -but I gotta say your videos are quickly becoming my favorites. Whether I ever build a table or not, I love watching you do it, Cam! Fair Winds and Following Seas!!
I'm kinda new to watching videos. I love woodworking. I don't do anything like you do with the tables. They are so awesome ! I'm slowly down a lot and don't make sawdust like I did but when I'm missing working, I can watch one of your videos and have a little satisfaction and it doesn't take me weeks to complete. Please keep making videos!!
Las Vegas NV I don't do wood work, but I am just fascinated by your work. Thank You so much, I am Tom from Las Vegas and I do watch all your Videos from start to finish Thanks again.
Taking a break from writing about woven nanotube composites in the aerospace industry, and I stumbled across your channel after watching a japanese weaving master. Your work is beautiful. I just binged watched five of your creations. Thank you for sharing.
Aye up fella 👍 Your work is outstanding , I’m so hooked on your channel 👌💯% brilliant. Your attention to detail is perfect 👍. You talk through all the procedures and give tips 👌so so good . I’m over in Staffordshire England 👍👍 .
Cam, I am an avid fan of your woodworking videos and want your u to know that of only are they interesting but after each one, I learn something. I especially like the final products and the fact that you express all the pitfalls and accept and reply to all your fans. I’m a 78 year old grandmother who lives in Berkeley Ca, never done or plan to drive word working but don’t want to miss any of your projects. Keep them coming! And thank you for posting.
Man I love watching your vid brother. While working on some end table slabs or any wood working instead of podcasts I tend to throw this on daily as white noise . Amazing work !!!
Texas I so enjoy watching your videos! If you decide to do a class in the future I would make the trip from Texas. Getting ready to retire and watch your videos everyday for knowledge. Looking forward to my first table!
Now I'm a guy who will never make a large epoxy filled table, but let me tell you.......you do super good work making flat beautiful tables and desks, and I really love seeing your videos. I try to catch all of them just to watch a skilled maker do his thing.
British Columbia...how much money did you raise? Great table and piece of wood.
$30,000, and thanks!

I'm not sure at this point now. It is such a beautiful wood and so unique. Thank you for making it even more beautiful.
Lubbock Texas, U.S.A. Boy do I wish I had a place to put that table, absolutely beautiful. You do fantastically great work.
Thanks James!
Montreal, Canada. After a brutal day on the forklift, watching your videos and listening to your commentary is soothing and relaxing. Love the pieces you create - too bad I couldn't afford it for myself. Keep up the great job.
Adelaide South Australia. Absolutely mesmerising and relaxing! Such a beautiful table.
Phoenix. Your tables are always so beautiful. Great job.
I know this is not your latest video, I pretty much watch those right away, but I wanted to finally take some time and leave you a comment somewhere. X)
I love your videos, I appreciate how much narration you include and I absolutely love that you don't have music in the background.

From Ireland, Thanks lovely table only wish it was mine.
Florida. Of all the bow ties I've seen you do, the two that span the larger area of epoxy are the most attractive. Very nice work.
I’m a new woodworker, and all of your tips/suggestions are appreciated; especially the bow tie inlays. Your work is amazing! Thank you!
i like coming back to old videos and seeing how your skills have evolved over time
Texas, Beautiful table. Enjoy watching these videos and how you work with such precision.
