I absolutely love how full size SUVs are going back to a boxy look, that's how they should be
This 4x4 is everything BUT a full size SUV. It's more like a mid size 4x4
I couldn't agree more! The return of the boxy look to full-size SUVs is fantastic. It's like a nostalgic throwback to the classic designs that were not only iconic but also practical. It allows for more interior space, making the SUV versatile and capable of carrying both passengers and cargo with ease.
@@ferlottesall land cruisers are smaller then Toyota sequoias so makes sense
Oh man I know! Even the Hyundai Santa Fe is looking amazing. This is what I crave, more of these boxy SUV designs!
@@praetorin Santa Fe is amazing with Rav4 or CRV, not even Pilot
Toyotas new generation of cars is amazing
Only probably is the lead engineers are fat Americans. I question the reliability of these new gens
Yeah as long as you don't plan on keeping it more than 9 years
Toyota remains the most trusted and durable brand. What the hell are you talking about?
@@brandonpayne8433you haven’t explained why not
Totally agree.
A manufacturer that makes a new vehicle smaller then the one it replaces...didn't think I'd live to see the day👏Thank you Toyota!
Land Cruisers got ridiculously huge (and expensive) before that fJ abomination.
I think this is supposed to be the new Prado/Lexus GX so it's a similar size
@@rafeesamithYou're correct. Most people in the US are unfamiliar with the LC Prado. Land Cruiser is a completely different beast.
@@rafeesamithbut the Prado/GX has a new generation as well. I’m curious to see the difference between this and the GX other than looking even more rugged than the new gen GX and more power. Ladder frame? Extra tech?
this is the Prado ?@@MrMikeDao
I love when they put the name Toyota in the front and in steering wheel ❤ make the car really look great
Incredible off roading capabilities + boxy design = perfection
Except that it has a crap powertrain
I'm a little hesitant. They're showing it off on tiny street/highway tires, and my 20 year old Sequoia has 3 inches of ground clearance on this thing
The angles and good for off-roading and 8.3 inches of ground clearance??? No
@@foxxmufasa yeah to it's credit it has good approach and departure angles, but it has less ground clearance then even a bronco sport

Glad to see the Land Cruiser got a good bit smaller, and I adore the boxy styling, circular headlights, and the gray tweed cloth interior on the base model!

It isn’t smaller. It’s the Prado and the wheel base was lengthened

@@marcwelby1836 This is a prado. Not a fully fledged land cruiser. The LX600 is a fully fledged land cruiser and an entirely different vehicle and cant be compared. Compared to other prados, this new "land cruiser" is a larger vehicle.
I LOVE it! So glad that it seems like carmakers like Hyundai and now Toyota understood that the 80s/90s inspired cars are what a lot of people love. I really hope that there will be a few cars that are a bit simpler again in the future. I think the 90s and earliest 00s were the best car era for daily drivers: simple, reliable, comfortable but not too over engineered or packed with unnecessary beeps and “features” nobody needs.
This is why I love Toyota’s!!!!
I think this is the new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, smaller and cheaper than the full size LC. The Prado wasn't available in the US as Toyota, but is the same Lexus GX series platform, the Prado/GX also shared a lot with the 4Runners. I'm really happy to finally see this model available in the US 😃
It’s indeed the Prado. On market where the J300 “normal” Land Cruiser available, it’ll be sold using the Prado badge alongside the J300 (and, on some market, the facelifted J70). Toyota also said that they intended to make this smaller J250 as the flagship Land Cruiser (instead of the full-sized J300).
Also, 4Runner is not just “share a lot” with the Prado/GX, but *it is* the Prado. 4Runner (except for the earlier, Hilux-based ones) is just the Prado for North America (LHD) market.
Toyota is changing things up. Before, prado was never available in USA but there was the lexus gx. It's the opposite here in aus, where we had the prado, but not the gx. Now both models will be available
This is not a prado. Let’s not get that confused, we can still get the prado in the GX.
@@dylantodd9574 gx came from prado. This is going to be the new prado here. Just not for you guys
@@Wtrxprs007able no it’s not.
This is exactly what the community wanted, I’m enamored that a manufacturer actually listened to their consumers for once, I mean look at that base model interior, it’s shaped modern but looks like it’s from the 90s, wow I’m buying one
and the mark ups by the greedy toyota dealers will be astrnomical ..., good luck!
@@ThatGermanFella There are a lot of Toyota dealers that are MSRP-only dealerships. Not saying you won't see a bunch marking them up, but if you're willing to wait long enough, you'll easily be able to find one for MSRP.
The base model looks freaking beautiful!
@@4Runner_4ever totally agree. And there's a huge aftermarket for additional goodies to build it out.
Ура наконец то гибрид!!! Аплодисменты!!!
Finally, a true 4x4 after ages
Going retro back to Toyota's roots. Yes thanks!! Bring on the 79 series in Australia! ❤ 👏
That new two tone blue looks so cool. It looks like the fj cruiser
Mirrors too
I was thinking that too. It's like a homage to the fj cruiser. I mean the fj was based on the 120/150 prado so this makes sense. I love what toyota is doing here with their new cars
...which looks like my two-tone blue 1970 FJ40...might have to get a new one to complement it.
They just don't want to call it an FJ because they would lose face for cancelling the FJ.
Lexus Gx550 for the win 🥇
Yep. Toyota not offering the twin turbo V6 V35A-FTS and 10 speed in the new Land Cruiser is a huge failure. Not everyone lives close to a Lexus dealership, the closest one to me is 5 hours away. I really wanted a more powerful engine option without the added weight of a hybrid system.
I’m a Jeep guy… I just trust their off-road capabilities more than anyone, at the moment. However, here you get the reliability of Toyota. It also looks similar to the Australian models I love. I’m heavily interested in trading in for this. My goodness, it’s awesome.
Jeep sucks.
I have a 1967 FJ45LV in the heritage blue with white roof. I am so excited to see Toyota going back to its roots. Just put my deposit in and now will have a beautiful pair of bookends.

Wow I love it! Picked up what we loved in the FJ Cruiser and improved everything! I'd love a 3 door option!!! Bronco and Wrangler have a new player to compete with
Man is kinda sad that y'all didn't get the 3.5 V6 LC300 😭😢
If only they kept a natural aspirated version for old fashioned reliability, can't wait to see these showing up at the lot though. And kudos for throwing the Tacomas manual system in too👌
Will 2024 LC have any options of convertible or sunroof option?
Does the way the new lander cruiser looks is giving FJ cruiser vibes or is just me, cause I’m loving it!
Imagine building a small compact suv like this. It would definitely sell like hotcakes, especially here in Philippines.
No 4Runner?
It's not a small compact SUV, it's even bigger than the outgoing Toyota Prado
How is it small and compact? That new Landcruiser is bigger than the Fortuner, 6 inches longer and 5 inches wider. Plus the price would most likely be above 5 million pesos.
@@marcamigable18045 million? Nah, this ain't a Lexus, pal. If the hybrid arrives in the Philippines, the price would be cut in half. Remember, there's a law that cuts any Hybrid and/or EV's prices in half or a quarter, and you're going to be exempted from number coding in Metro Manila.
@@xraider927 It ain't a Lexus but it is very similar to the Lexus GX. May I also ask what law are you referring to? As far as I know the discounts only refer to the tax placed upon hybrids and EVs (50% and 100% respectively) as well as multiple other exemptions and incentives.
With that said, the current LC Prado and LC 300 cost at around 4.5-5.7 million pesos. The MSRP of the upcoming 2024 LC/LC Prado is at around 50-55 thousand US dollars which is at 2.7-3 million pesos. Based on the law, taxes placed on luxury vehicles with at least 2.1 million msrp is at 512k pesos plus 60% of the excess amount. Taking all into consideration, 2.7-3 million (msrp of the 2024 LC) + 512k pesos x 0.5= 256k pesos (since it's a hybrid and is exempt to 50% tax) + (2.7 million - 2.1 million x 60%) ÷ 2 or (3 million - 2.1 million x 60%) ÷ 2 would result to the final price to be roughly at 3 316 000/3.316 million pesos to 3 526 000/3.526 million pesos if released here on ph. So it would be around 1-1.2 million cheaper than the current LC Prado and 2-2.4 million cheaper than the current LC300.
To sum it up:
2024 LC/LC Prado: 3.3 -3.5 million pesos
Current LC Prado: 4.5 million pesos
Current LC 300: 5.7 million pesos
To conclude it seems that it won't really sell like hotcakes as what the original commenter stated but I do believe that it will definitely sell more and be more popular compared to the current LC Prado and LC 300.
Ps. If I stated anything wrong please do correct me.
This 4Runner re-design is awesome! ;)
Looking forward to this vehicle. I just wish you had the back row seats as an add on option.
Dude people are stunned. This looks SICK!
Great job, Toyota!
Great Job Toyota USA, It looks great!!
LOOKS great. Won’t even be near the same reliability as before
@@bobsacamano6402 why do you say/think that? turbo?
@@whitebuffalo4904 well, it does not have a solid front axle, which is important for the guys who do a lot of off-roading. As long as they don't discontinue the 70 series then i think everyone will be happy in the end.
@@jinglemyberries866No, ive wheeled with both and prefer ifs. Toyota went backwards in capability across their whole truck fleet. Less ground clearance across all new "off-road" vehicles. They had an opportunity to compet with bronco and Wrangler and now toyota competes with subaru. Even defenders are more capable. Idk what toyota team is thinking. Guess they just want sales from the soccer moms and mall crawlers.
@@bobsacamano6402 yeah, the sad truth 🥲

Dig it. Toyota seems to have the hybrid tech pretty well sorted out so this could be a great option.

Looks great, can’t wait to start watching some reviews 👌🏼
Toyota is no doubt number 1 vehicle manufacturer in the world. Amazing
I really impressed by this new land cruiser cannot wait to get one soon 👌
haha even with these current interest rates? Obviously the economy never took a hit if people are lining up to buy a 60k plus SUV. You better be rich or your a person with very low IQ because paying a car note for a vehicle that does the samething as one that 10 years old can do and your going to paying a long long time and its going to drive you nuts
interesting. would be curious to see what tires and lifts this can handle
Great technology. I’ll wait for the next design
The blend of modern features with nods to the classic look, like the round headlights reminiscent of the FJ Cruiser, makes it a compelling choice for me :)
Thanks for sharing, we're glad you like the Land Cruiser too! ❤️
Why a 4 cylinder?? Getting rid of all the good power plants for these four bangers that won’t have any better gas mileage once they are modded!
Bigger engines are being legislated out in many countries across the globe in favour of hybrids and this looks to be the same. Many manufacturers of luxury vehicles have small engine hybrids in the pipeline.
@@Pesmog yeah I realize that but they could at least do the hybrid v6 like they did in the tundra. Since car manufacturers have started switching to 4 cylinders the problem rate for these 4 cylinder vehicles has gone up to 10 problems per 100 vehicles. The shift to 4-cylinder engines from 6-cylinder engines is epitomized by BMW. For years the company made in-line 6-cylinder engines for most of its vehicles. Now, it has shifted to 2.0 liter turbocharged engines for all of its volume vehicles. Its problem rate is 130 PP100. Lexus by comparison does not use 4-cylinder engines in any of its most popular vehicles. It does offer some as hybrids, but overall Lexus has stuck with the 3.5 liter V6 for almost all of its volume movers. Lexus' problem rate is about half that of BMW at just 68 PP100.
Dealers can’t wait to mark these up! 😂
Best looking SUV on the market
This honestly comes off as damn near perfect for someone like me. I currently have a pretty decently built 08 FJ, but due to some health and overall time issues, I rarely make it to the trails/travel at this point. With it being my daily when I do get out, I’m fillin up far too often. Never been one huge on creature comforts but if they’re available, I won’t say no. Just a tad bit more interior space than I need for just me myself and the pup, but that means extra sleeping space. This pretty much does everything I need it to do while not needing too much after market work to spruce up. May have to start the process of selling my FJ while the market still loves ‘em.
Looks like the new design incorporated aspects of the FJ Cruiser. Love it.
This Land Cruiser actually reminds me of the fj40 Land Cruisers. Gotta love retro futurism!
Does it come with rounded headlights and rectangular ones as well, like in this videos

Well, I haven't been this excited for a vehicle in a long time. I have been looking at a 2 door Land Cruiser to leave at our (soon to be) place in Italy. I was just talking to my wife about how it sucks that there is no Longer a Land Cruiser here. I have literally been online for several hours today looking at Wranglers and Broncos. This evokes the feeling of a souped-up 80 Series. Well done, Toyota for going back to off-roading roots!
Hi, is this landcuriser redesign of Prado which is present in UAE etc?
This is exactly what the community wanted and I'm glad the manufacturer really listened to the consumer for once
Sure sure
First of all I'm a huge Toyota fan and own 7 of them, 2 are Land Cruisers, a 1969 FJ55 wagon and a 1967 FJ40. This new Land Cruiser will obviously appeal to the new generation of buyers that don't know or care about the real heritage of what Land Cruiser is: Simplicity, ruggedness, off-road capability without electronic doodads, a manual transmission and a removable top. Us old school types that would be ecstatic over these things are left out here in North America. Toyota will sell some of these, but will still miss out on sales to Bronco and Jeep. Toyota has a waiting list on the 79 series Land Cruiser in Australia. A waiting list. It's a basic off-roader with manual trans, manual roll up windows, cloth and vinyl, etc. Those 2 Land Cruisers I mentioned at the beginning of this reply? Toyota had both of them in the lineup at the same time. Yes, a removable top short-wheelbase truck and a 4-door station wagon. Why can't we have both here in the U.S? Jeep does it.
Dude don't you have a Mark 4 Supra ??
@@wyomarine6341 No, "kids today" are fine with simple cars and want more of them. Source: I'm in my early 20s and drive a '66 Thunderbird, and know of several other young people who want cheap basic cars without computery nonsense. We don't want touch screens in cars, the automakers do. The automakers want screens in cars because they're cheaper than buttons and allow for some standardization across the range at the expense of safety (good luck using that screen without looking while driving) and intuitiveness. Furthermore, automakers pack new SUVs with this junk to justify raising the price and increasing profit margins because "look at all this new stuff it comes with!" even though the tech is basically the same. And that trick works on the general public that's dazzled by shiny tech and doesn't know a carburetor from a clutch plate. Meanwhile CAFE regulations have basically legislated actually small, cheap, efficient, simple cars - or basic off-roaders - out of existence, so "kids today" can't afford any new cars, we're stuck with old stuff if we have cars at all. Me, I fixed up my car myself when I was a teenager and couldn't replace it with a better car now for what it cost me to rebuild it.
If Automakers could/would build actually decent affordable cars again, "kids today" would flock to dealerships and buy them by the boatload. But of course, they're not allowed to even if they wanted to, and by now they're addicted to those fat profit margins yo - gotta fund EV development somehow, right? Never mind that real sustainability is building things that last, that people actually want to take care of, and then taking care of them so they do in fact last... Where's the profit in that? Go ahead and eat our future for profit, we know you don't really care anyway. Toyota will sell millions of these I'm sure, it doesn't matter what we think of it.
I dont see the capability in their whole new fleet of vehicle's. For starters ground clearance dropped across all truck models. They going forward in tech but backwards in capability. Broncos and wranglers even stock base models eat toyotas joke of a fleet of "off-roaders" . Im disappointed, waited to see what they would offer from a capability stand point and yet again disappointed. Reliablity alone isnt going to keep loyal customers. I myself looking in to a Bronco raptor at this point.
@@camooo101 See after watching Jason Cammisa video of Bronco Raptor , my mentality towards that car was changed totally ..
I genuinely think that Land Cruiser is not that great for offroading than Bronco Raptor ..
@nirbhayatiwari5425 correct the new Land Cruiser doesn't compete in that segment. It's more in line with Subaru's at this point. It's a joke.
Should've been a seven seater with the flip-to-the-sides third row. I love that option.

Such a great price!
@@mathieudavis9981 you mean less affordable? I don't see toyota discounting these things.
@@WranglermanLevi seriously . 55 k is a great price and in the world of bronco plus wranglers 55k is just a entry level to mid spec .
Really, manual seats covered in burlap sack cloth and a 4 cyl for a mere starting price of 56k? I think not...smh
legendary great machine. It will be successful
How about a front grill color option for LC with the round headlights: White grill-bezel around the Toyota decal, and white around the headlights, with matching white roof.
OMFG I love it! It went back to it's off road roots that made it the amazing beast it became, maybe in 25 years I could afford this one. I love the styling cues of the FJ62 which is most favorite of all Land Cruisers. GREAT JOB TYOTA!
The only thing I'm worried about is if there may be an overlaping of toyota SUVs since the new Land Cruiser is a significantly smaller than its prior models and assuming the announcement of the redesigned 4runner coming next year. otherwise, I absolutely love the design of this new New Land Cruiser, Though it has gotten a little smaller, it will be more affordable for toyota Land Cruiser enthusiast.
Rumors coming in about 4 runner being scratched off for a few years.
@@Axix23proof?
This is the baby landcruiser or the Prado.
@@Axix23 I highly doubt that the 4runner will be canceled, as it one of most popular vehicles in Toyota's line up . In addition The 4runner recently had the most units sold in it's entire production life. It's too popular of a vehicle for Toyota to get rid of, but with this new Land Cruiser, Toyota will have to destinguish it's off-roading suv line-up even more. which might be a little more difficult.

The 2024 Land Cruiser returns with three distinct trims-a base model called the 1958, a mid-tier trim called Land Cruiser, and a top-of-the-line First Edition.
Each trim gets unique looks, with different headlight designs, different wheel and tire options, and off-road accessories like a front skid plate.
While the base model's cabin has an 8.0-inch touchscreen, pricier Land Cruisers upgrade to a 12.3-inch unit. 0:42 🙌🏻😉
The design specially interiors appears similar to the Land rover & Range rover SUVs, not the regular conservative approach by Toyota and it looks good.
