Great video, wish I saw it yesterday, I went to a wrecker and grabbed a 2nd hand one for $50. I pulled our original one apart and got it working again…… oh well I’ll keep it for a spare
Got some advice for anyone following this. I followed this tutorial a year or two ago and my window has only recently given up again. When you do this, make sure to put some sealant around that white rubber gasket before you re-install the motor. Water does get down into here and today when I re-opened my motor I was greeted with a healthy pour of rusty water! Got it fixed again and all sealed up! Funny thing: as it transpired it wasn't the wet motor that killed the window this time: it was the window switch! But it's just as well I found the problem with the motor as it probably would have given up eventually when the corrosion really set in. Great video! I never pulled a motor apart to service it before this. Hint: If your climate control fan gives up, it's likely a similar problem! They're a sealed unit, but you can give it a good squirt of compressed air up through a little plastic port on the unit and that can be enough to clear the carbon out. WARNING: it's a dirty job so do it outside! Carbon dust gets EVERYWHERE!
Had a similar issue with mine today and I removed the motor and sprayed some electronics lube and protection on it and ran a few tests plus a bit of grease on the protruding shaft worm drive. Hopefully it will do the trick as the window was fully down before so rain and public parking was a concern. The interior master switch as so cheap (around 25$ delivered) made in china from ebay . Even seen the genuine ford motor and pully drive for around 120$ . There maybe a chinese motor on its own and fits right on available but haven't had a look so far. Getting those 3 screws back in are a bit of a pain particularly the top inside one and you have to apply pressure to them as you tighten them up. Thanks for taking the time to show your repair.😊
Thank you Sam! Great video mate. This worked a treat and saved us a lot of money! Both front windows haven't worked for a while and now go up and down like new. Only took me an hour on the second window once I knew what I was doing after the trial run on the first.
I thought my switch was stuffed, i pulled it apart and cleaned it but no go, so i hot wired the window and still no go, so i did the Fonzi hit and it worked. I will give a go what you did here. Thanks for video.
UPDATE: 03 Aug 2019 Hi all. Just a heads up to let you know mine is still working. No Fonzi love taps required since I cleaned the commutator by spinning it in a drill and gently applying emery paper. I bought a new motor a year ago but have not needed it yet.
Update 22/03/2018: in hindsight it would have been better to clean the commutator from brush marks with some fine emery cloth coz it's playing up a little every now and again. A little Fonzi persuasion moves it along for another few weeks.
Would this work on the passenger side. The 2009 territory we have the window wound down now won't go up. Is there a list of things to check before doing this?
I don't see why not. Make sure to diagnose it is in fact the same problem. Check motor is getting power from both driver's and passenger's door switches. Then check resistance of motor on car before unscrewing it off .... that is if you can get your multi meter in there.

Good to hear. Mine finally croaked. Fonzi love tap nearly put a hole through the door. So new video coming soon on how to do a motor swap.
