That thing looks like a steam engine from days gone by. Beautiful welds and overall workmanship. Best wishes for many, many cooks in the years to come.
Just got off the phone with Thomas at bison smokers. He's aware of the website issues and is addressing them as I type. Very pleasant gentlemen and will work with you on shipping challenges that you might have. I am eager and look forward to getting me one of these bad boys in southern California! Congrats on the success of your bbq and this new toy, I can't wait to see the brisket you produce on it.
Joe checking like three times a day to see you light a fire in Your new smoker I think it's going to be the best versatile smoker on the market a person could run a heat management plate and run the heat from the bottom Or just like yours set up across the whole smoker either way that going to be awesome there's nothing like it For a backyard smoker
Well I guess some Michigan raised meats. I gotta say to all the fans of grass fed meats… well me thinks y’all just might be missing out. Imho the grains make the difference. Local small farmers here raise the absolute tastiest pork, beef, and mutton I know of. And yep I’ve traveled to the fine states of Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and still haven’t gotten as juicy a steak as here at home. That being said we have a lot of bad bbq, bad Mexican food, bad Italian food, but make up for it with outstanding pasties 🤣. You rock sir. Whatever to decide I’m 100% certain you will make it succulent. Cheers on such a robust and beautiful tool. Thank you for your amazing channel.
Joe, if you line the bottom of the fire box with 1” thick fire bricks, it will prevent the bottom from rusting out. Maybe 4 across , then the length of the box. I’m jealous of your new smoker.
Looks great can't wait for your cook video I think there may be a big advantage the way they fine tune that Offset smoker If i modified a Brazos I would try and make it look like that
That is awesome - congrats. I am interested if having the temp gauge at the smoke stack side instead of the middle is an issue. I would love to see you do a biscuit test to see how the temps are equalized across the cook space. So glad to see you in Texas Monthly as a top newbie :) here in our great state of BBQ. Still would love to see your sausage sold at HEB - make that happen please? lol
You are catching up to Ry for total number of cookers. That is a solid offset with a cool look, the rustic touch is perfect. The first cook? Chocolate Lab.
That thing is nice! But another way to season your pit and keeping that patina look is with Linseed oil. There is a little technique to it, that will water proof it also.
Nice looking pit. I would have oiled the pit and burned it in, I like how that turns black as you use it. I am interested to see how that clear coat lasts though. Whatever you cook, give me a call and I will come over and taste it. Enjoy.
I told my wife I met my match. Joe has more grills than me. I'm still ahead in 'still in the box' garage category. If it's 70% off end of the season sale, it's mine.
Nice......I was thinking " BEAST" as well through the music into, Full splits. I was wondering when the full split fire boxes where going to catch on. Pits are already heavy whats another 25 lbs to make it use the splits. Can't wait to see your first cook, might as well be your Brisket and Pork Butt, after your hot spot test.🍖🥩
That's a great backyard smoker. Great call on the clear coat finish. I thought they were planning to ship these smokers with throat dampeners in the firebox.
Damn joe your back yard looks amazing nicely landscaped and manicured to perfection oh and the new pit looks awesome as well lol no pun intended lol cheers bro can’t wait to see you fire it up 🍻🍻🍻
Can you do a video on why you chose bison over a lot of the other popular choices (lone star grillz, workhorse pits, or even Yoder - which your an ambassador for?)?
Mainly because I use the Bison 1000 gallon for my bbq business and I'm extremely please with the quality. Yoder will always be my go to but this style pit was something I've always wanted. 👍
Hey Joe just checking back everyone's really busy and you probably don't get to do the things you'd like to do all the time is it working out okay for you
Nice videos. I just found and subbed and liked your videos I have seen so far. I have 2 questions about one of your 2 year old videos about reviewing a 1.5 hp Meat meat grinder. 1. How do you like the meat grinder now after 2 years? 2. What kind were the 2 knives you used to trim and cut that brisket and would you recommend them? They looked far superior to my Walmart knives.
I tried going to their website, but it doesn’t offer much. It seems to be under construction. I was hoping to see prices. I wrote a letter to them explaining what information I was looking for.
Nice video. If you have a moment to answer, I have a couple of questions. (1) You probably have more upper body strength than me. But-is the lid heavy? I'll guess that you're married. Can a family member that's somewhat weaker than you easily lift it? (2) The racks looked shiny. Are they stainless steel?
You know....I can't afford the smoker....it's way out of my budget. but at anytime you don't want yours....i'll drive over and take it@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ
I wonder if they would donate one to me. I live in Indiana and if they would ship. It because I have no money and I love barbecue and I love grill and I love smoking
That thing looks like a steam engine from days gone by. Beautiful welds and overall workmanship. Best wishes for many, many cooks in the years to come.
When it’s lit, it will start moving.
Congrats on the new pit. Would love to see a burn and fire management video on this beast.
The satin clear coat looks like a great choice. That should preserve the rustic look nicely👍😊
My vote would be for BRISKET! Texas style. Great looking smoker! 👍👍
That will definitely be a cook. Maybe even the first cook. 🤘

Great looking smoker. Congrats, can't wait to see the cooks on this - first one's gotta be a brisket
Joe, if you line the bottom of the fire box with 1” thick fire bricks, it will prevent the bottom from rusting out. Maybe 4 across , then the length of the box.
I’m jealous of your new smoker.
Wow Joe that's a awesome machine! Can't wait for the first cook! Cheers 🍻
Congrats on the awesome new pit Joe. Can't wait to see you work your magic in that thing!
Smoking Joe, the new smoker looks fantastic and very industrial. Im looking forward to another great video in the future. Have a great day.
Nice!!! I used that same high heat clear on my smoker. Worked good on the chamber but the firebox turned a bit milky after a few cooks.
Bison Burgers 🍔
Made for Batman.
Yes sir, this is a nice set up! I’m totally on board with your rustic look decision. Fire it up!

Brisket of course! Gotta get some time in learning the new Beast!
Wow...I just want to hang out in your backyard!!
That pit is bad ass joe, can't wait to steal it😂
That's a long drive!🤘😂🤘
Red dog in Australia is a famous kelpie. Keen to see a cook on this looks mean as
Interesting choice on that clear..I should probably do that with my budget smoker..covering it helps but It gets damp in Connecticut
Nice pit Joe. I like the raw look also....... 1 thing to cook, Brisket... I will tell you a cowboy poetry tale about Red Doggs sometime.
Thanks-this was really fun to watch. The end result looks fantastic.
That's a nice one. Thanks for sharing. Looks like a hot water tank which my brother built one from one.
Good ol fashion Texas Turkey Breast! 💯
Hey Joe, love your channel. Great lil smoker to add to your arsenal 👏
Looks great can't wait for your cook video I think there may be a big advantage the way they fine tune that

Nice pit! I'll be getting me a nice offset smoker one of these years.
Thank you! It's one heck of a pit. 👍
That thing is nice! But another way to season your pit and keeping that patina look is with Linseed oil. There is a little technique to it, that will water proof it also.
Bison of course.🙌but I normally do pork butts. Good luck with your new backyard smoker. Nice👍
Thank you.I was thinking a pork butt too. 👍
Nice looking pit. I would have oiled the pit and burned it in, I like how that turns black as you use it. I am interested to see how that clear coat lasts though. Whatever you cook, give me a call and I will come over and taste it. Enjoy.
Dude what a great nee piece of hardware! Love it!
I told my wife I met my match. Joe has more grills than me. I'm still ahead in 'still in the box' garage category. If it's 70% off end of the season sale, it's mine.
🤣 That's hilarious
I was skeptical at first with all that surface rust. However, you did a great job of cleaning it up and it looks great. Good luck with the new Pit!
Thank you!
Looks a great smoker Joe.

Wow awesome new bbq pit 8)

Nice looking pit, my only question is where is the inlet vent for the fire box?
The door is the inlet just like their 1000 gallon pits. All you have to do is Crack the door open. 👍
Very nice joe ❤
That is badass.
Thanks for watching 🤘
Awesome 💯
Blessings 🙌
Beef ribs, pork butt, whole chickens and sausage links. Break it in right and see how good your temp control is😊😅
Do you ever try the reverse flow smokers like Lang?
Hey Joe just checking back everyone's really busy and you probably don't get to do the things you'd like to do all the time is it working out okay for you
Once you apply the clear coat you no longer have to worry about any rust issues or seasoning the smoker?
I only seasoned the inside of the smoker. You are correct, since I clear coated the outside, I won't have to worry about the surface rusting. 👍
Very cool looking pit. I'd like to see you do ribs on it. Cheers, Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
You have to cook a brisket bro 😊 Texas way
Nice looking smoker, Soooo, when do we see your first smoke brisket on this bad boy?
Did you get yours with an insulated firebox? Do you think it makes a big difference?
I wld like to see you smoke some bison 🦬 ribs , burgers 🍔, & brisket ... From placing order & finishing it to your likings ; how long did it take??
Love the idea buddy. 👍
Nice 👍
Thank you bro. 👍
That’s a bad boy right there Joe! ✊🏾💯

I’m so jealous Joe!

Great looking pit Joe - traditional flow offset with no baffle ? Ted
I would like to see some dino ribs.
Let’s see some beef ribs on that thing.
Nice video. If you have a moment to answer, I have a couple of questions. (1) You probably have more upper body strength than me. But-is the lid heavy? I'll guess that you're married. It's artificial grass. 😁
You know....I can't afford the smoker....it's way out of my budget. but at anytime you don't want yours....i'll drive over and take it@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ

That is one sexy SON OF A B...ABY BISON SMOKER!!
No place to set ur pans I don't get ti
How is the firebox going to handle the clearcoat since it`s not high heat. My high heat paint even burnt off mine after a while.
