I hope you enjoy another easy and delicious recipe! How do you know this type of taco best? Make sure you read the description box for all details, also, dont get discouraged if you don’t know how to roll the tortillas, like my mom used to say, no se van rodando, 😅 use your hands to stretch them out to get them as even as possible if not it’s ok! When you fry them they kind of even themselves out 😉 i love you all😘😘
One of my favorite cooking channels on TH-cam. Everything is done step-by-step and all the ingredients are given at the beginning. You make it easy because I follow the step by step instructions. Thank you.
This is the perfect recipe to make puffy tacos!! I used 2 tbsp of butter instead of shortening. I found 400F made the tacos puff out nicely. I tried this for the first time today, and they came out just right. Next time I think I will time it: 1 minute for the first side, 45 seconds for the second side, and about 40 seconds for the other two sides (once folded). Thank you so much. This came out just like you show. The only problem I had is that I mixed 1 cup of flour with 1/2 cup milk, and it was too sticky. I think I'll add a little bit more flour next time.
Made these chalupas today and my family loved them. My teenage son who is a super picky eater said "Dinner was really good today" this recipe is going into my recipe book 😁 Thank you Claudia for sharing great dinner ideas!! 👍👍
To be a Navajo taco ur just missing the frijoles and pace😋...I've got the best of both worlds in my blood and let me tell u how proud I am of my roots! A frybread and tortilla = me proud half native Navajo (Dine) and half hispanic! Food on both sides is life! 🤎👌🏽 Culture isn't completely dead✊🏽 thank u so much for teaching our recipes! Makes me happy and sometimes hungry watching ur videos lol!!! ! Ayoo aniinishni = te quiero = I love u! ♡ Blessings to u!
Thanks for this tutorial! I made these tonite, my first chalupa effort ever and thanks to this it was a success!!! My 4 year old even ate it and she's never had much interest when I've made tacos or taco like food in the past!!!
I tried these today. My first one cracked right in half. I figured I toasted too much. The second one I didnt fry it as much so it would be "elasticy" sonI could fold them. It turned out and it tasted so good. 😋😋😋
I tried today it was good. My mistake was leaving the chalupa bread in the oven too long. I still ate it lol. I'm going to try again over the weekend. But thank God chefs like you exist too help me do things on my own
YOUR HUSBAND LUCKY AF TO HAVE YOU!!!!!YOUR BEAUTIFUL AND CAN COOK!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR RECIPES !!!!!!!YOU MAKE THEM SIMPLE WITH DIRECT MEASUREMENTS!!!THANKS !!!!
tried this. since the only thing I like at taco bell is chalupas. and let me tell you the chalupas was amazing. I can't wait to try this again with steak instead of the ground beef. my daughter loved it just by itself and my older son SE le antojo como postre and he put some syrup it was amazing!
My family is from Michoacán and I grew up eating bean and cheese chalupas on tostadas, so I kinda wanna try different kinds of chalupas, this video is helpful

I grew up eating something very similar to what you made. Up here in Saginaw Michigan they call them "Patitos" They make ground beef then put it in uncooked flour tortillas and deep fry them. Very very delicious! Thanks for sharing your recipe! Much appreciated!!
I’m San Carlos Apache from AZ. I was raised up on Mexican food since our reservation is so close to the boarder as well our traditional food. So I enjoy both worlds 😊. What u made we call it stuff fry bread , all the ingredients are the same. But you can also turn it into a Indian Taco as well...If I’m feeling fancy I like to add sour cream n chives n olives... great vid...
Mujer OMG...I made these this evening..this recipe will definitely be on the menu..thank you so much for sharing your recipes..bendiciones a ti y tu familia
Growing up in Texas, we made chalupas from corn tortillas fried crispy and loaded with all the same ingredients plus refried beans. Your puffy wheat tortillas look like Indian fry bread. Both are delicious!
Interesting. In South Texas, chalupas are corn tortillas deep fried but you leave them flat, spread with refried beans and top with beef and cheese. Then heat in oven to melt. Then add toppings. Anything folded is a taco lol.

My grandson said I would put Taco Bell out of business. I always order chalupas from Taco Bell, but after tonight, they would never be satisfying. Thank you so much for this amazing recipe. 👍👍
Your taco seasoning saved my butt tonight, as I forgot to buy some because I got side tracked at the store lol...although I forgot to add in the cumin now that your voice is in the background as I'm writing this lol...but thank you so much.
