Hey Comics, theres something i wanted to point out: The distance to Monata to the Pacific Ocean is about 450 Miles, I divided the 4 Seconds by 2 and i also divided 450/2, heres what i got: I got a slightly higher speed of about 724,204.8 M/S about 1,620,000 MPH or about 2,607,137.28 KM/H. Hopefully this is accurate and provides help!

So yes movie sonic is at the very least running at the speed of light throughout the movie. Now wether he can go faster or not who knows movie Sonic has done a lot of thing's to imply that he's nowhere close to his running limate and game Sonic could get faster at any moment. I calculated at the middle fight scene that sonic had 750 nanoseconds to react to the closest missile to his face. Also durning the bar fight, the camera was able to work at normal shutter speed. The speed of the phone camera came out to be 0.00031 seconds (or about 312.5 microseconds). So to run around the entire bar room he had to be moving at 475,073 mph (Mach 640.46). He had no reason at all to be moving at that speed to take out everyone lol.
Sonic did have a reason to go that fast. No permanent injuries to anyone. He took out everyone in a humiliating way. The worst injury was probably the thug that got a neck protector by charging though the window. If he moved at mach 1 he could take out everyone too, but then they'll be 6 feet under. Reverse Flash is good at that by snapping everyone's neck in the blink of an eye.

What was sonic doing was creating a bunch of speed mirages and to do a speed mirage you need to move around 134 mph so multiply that with how many speed mirages he create (atleast thats what i think so correct me if i'm wrong).
You just made me realize what a missed opportunity for a city escape remix playing during the city sequence, but the epic sounding soundtrack was more fitting since Sonic traveled to different parts of the world.

What was sonic doing was creating a bunch of speed mirages and to do a speed mirage you need to move around 134 mph so multiply that with how many speed mirages he create (atleast thats what i think so correct me if i'm wrong).

You just made me realize what a missed opportunity for a city escape remix playing during the city sequence, but the epic sounding soundtrack was more fitting since Sonic traveled to different parts of the world.

If you think about it the the water and fish on him after running back would’ve already dried up and there wouldn’t be anything on him due to his insane speed. So he made it back so quick it’s like time couldn’t keep up.

yeah, in fact if you look at the original sonic movie trailer, you'll see that the speed gun originally read 760 mph (just below the speed of sound), but they changed that for the final cut of the movie bc they realized that speed guns can't read speeds greater than 300 mph

During the bar fight, there was a scene where he went fast enough to make after-images _while already in Sonic time._ So he was going as fast as we can see normally, while in-universe already going as fast as he is normally.
