Sure wish I could understand wtf you're saying brother! I need to do this,..... I think. Not 100% sure though. My dome light was coming on or staying on unless I turn switch on light off all the way which I've done. Well it also when the keys in the ignition and the door is closed sometimes it will start to ding like the door is opened. I used to be able to pull on the door a little to stop it 4 a while. But this would also cause me to not be able to lock my doors because it thinks the drivers door isn't shut completely. So is this what I replace to fix the issue?lol

What type of plastic did you weld onto the striker?
anything plastic
