Here are a few of my thoughts that bubbled up after listening to this video: I agree that Mark has a tremendious amount of people following him. With all that 'power' lets call it, he could create a movement showing postive change for societies. I feel that Mark and other let's players influnce their viewers to the extent that, some might think, "Hey, thats a good idea. This one man that I love to watch everyday is trying to promote good deeds in his bubble of friends. I wonder what I could do to help him or others where I live?" People need good role models that are genuine and truly want to help others with no thought of reward or profit. Even if the idea fails at first, there are so many of us here, that someone, somewhere could have the means to start something like this. Personally, I say go for it Mark. You already shine as a postive example for people of any age. Even though it is only an idea, that is all it takes for something to change. I could see a fan meet up advertised for a day or two. Some could help at soup kitchens, animal shelters, clean up parks, assist at a nursing home..etc. Even people who know nothing about Markiplier might be interested in just helping and thus the bubble grows larger. And the feeling of helping is a grand one indeed. It might even bring people out of depression or sadness because they see the gratitude in the eyes of those they help. My only other thought flew stright to some of the residents that live in a group home I work at. They all have degrees of intellectual disabilities, but they love to help and they love having people come visit them. Two practially spring to mind. They both lvoe video games, but don't have a lot of friends outside of their small circle of peers that enjoy games. Whenever I talk about what game he is playing or how my husband has the same game and loves it, he just lights up. We have people visit all the time. There is another avenue of people I know could use the love. Some residents don't even have family. Now I see I have written a novel, but this video has sparked something inside me. I draw, write and paint and I have always looked for a way to bring my ideas of love, compassion, evniromental conservation etc into my creative expressions. I feel the need to do something and maybe that is one thing Mark had to mind. Spark the change, light the fire in peoples hearts! Video games and this channel are media Mark uses, just like I do, for the same reason. Thank you Mark for having the caring heart to use your influence for good. If this comes to light I will be there willingly to help. And...I feel the need to give the whole internet a hug. *HUGS*

Hi Mark. My two oldest children follow your videos. I'm sorry to say I don't know much about your work, but my oldest recently brought your "Changing The World" video to my attention. I applaud you for teying to use your influence in such a positive way. After our discussion, she actually posted some of the ideas here in the comments. I noticed as I was reading through some of them how there were many saying that they were just kids and did not have the power to make a difference or to change things. Sadly, they do not realize that the generations to come have GREAT power to change the ever declining way of thinking, behaviors, hatred, and overall way that we treat one another as human beings. So here is my thought...you mentioned possibly touring the country or visiting different cities to try to put your idea into actions. Why not try to work with the schools in some of these cities? Speak to the ones whose minds are still open with hope. We all know that the schools have many clubs and organizations for the kids. Speak to the school as a whole about your hope for change. Encourage them to use their clubs and organizations for philanthropies throughout their communities. This would be a way for the younger followers to be involved but still include adults as well. One example would be asking for donated clothes, necessities, or even toys for residents of homeless shelters or women's shelters. I also feel that some of the elderly in the communities need more help than people are aware of due to their fixed incomes. Often times they are left to decide whether to buy food, medicines, or pay for utilites much less even think about yard maintenance, home repairs, or anything of that nature that could possibly be helped with donations of supplies and time. There are endless ways that your 9 million followers could make a difference. Put them to the challenge. One random act of kindness by each follower could make someone else's day a little better and may even encourage that person to do the same. Even the smallest gestures can make the biggest impacts. Anyway, it's just some thoughts that have been on my mind since my daughter brought this to my attention. I wish you the best of luck and hope to hear more about your work on this in the future.

sundayrayne You have so many good thoughts here. Mark has the honor of being able to reach out to the next generation. I truly believe that community participation is a key component to reaching out to others. I also feel that there are many people out there who need help that go unnoticed because they don't have the right connections to the community or the resources to find them. In addition to all the great ideas you posted here, I think having a means of matching volunteers to those who need assistance would be really helpful.
One of the best ways to connect volunteers with those who need help is word of mouth. Ask around among church members, family, or friends. There is usually always someone who knows somebody else that may need help. You could also check to see if there are any organizations set up within your community that assist your target group. Approach those organizations with what service your volunteer group Is offering and ask them to contact you if you can be of assistance to anyone they work with.
I love Markiplier because he seems so genuine. It doesn't feel like he says/does things just to do it, it feels like he actually means what he's saying. He's such a good role model and I'm so glad my nephew also looks up to a guy like this. We need more people like Markiplier.

I love TH-cam, and how it in and of its self is a community where peel can draw inspiration from others, I am subscribed to both of you and seeing how all of you guys are connected is amazing.
I can but can't believe this is coming from the person who spills drinks and shouts when angry, who jokes about dicks all the time, etc. But, this is the..."positive" (maybe?) Markiplier. The Markiplier who gets emotional really truly knowing the size of his community. The Markiplier who does good things for us; The world. The Markiplier who helps haters or fangirls/boys. The Markiplier who knows and accepts that we are all siblings among one another, and knows the meaning of us being together. I can only feel that this is the true Markiplier; The Markiplier who wants to help people (through rage to charity), whether giving money to great causes to helping and giving. +Markiplier I had a serious talk with my mom about what almost 9 million people could do to change the world for the better after I watched this video. I told her about you and what you wanted to do. She had a good idea that you could pick certain people for areas around the world, then those people could gather everyone else in their area who wanted to contribute. A couple hundred people maybe? Or fewer. Then that small group would go to communities inside their area or county or state or whatever, and clean up, do food drives, give clothes to people, help the elderly people get money for living (Which is a huge issue right now.), and other things that could help people. Danielle Sawyer I just had the same talk with my mom. Litetally around the same time. I think this would be an amazing idea an I'd volunteer to organize this for Austria. I'd love to do this since this is basically everything I believe in. Anyways, I hope that Marks sees this and thinks this is a great idea because this would definetely make it into the media of different countries and would probably inspire other people to do such things. If it's about charity/doing good things, the bigger, the better, because this needs to reach more people. That one day of your life can easily help others for weeks.
also what we could all do is share this video. I offered markiplier before that we could start an online forum. something we ppl could better discuss than in the comments. sure it would get a lot of flamers but if we get enough mods, we could handle that. I know my way around forum technique and some free sides that offer it, but without him agreeing or some support vom subs that wouldnt last more than a day.

We can include loads of people in this even people who don't watch markiplier can take part and if the markiplier fans are watching they can help across the globe and try to sort out the current problems in the world as well as get a message across to other people that we can all make a difference if we work together and I don't see why anyone should dislike this because it tells people how much we need to change the world and how much we can all help to change it and form it into a better lifestyle for those who are worse off than we are and it. Shows how much we need to get rid of some of the things that should not be around anymore (poverty e.c.t)

Hey Mark, I was wondering about what you said, and it really sparked an idea in my head. Since I'm just a regular bloke from Australia, and like many others, I'm not from America, you could use your connections that you have with other youtubers for example Jacksepticeye and Pewdiepie, and get them to start a similar thing in their respective countries. That way when there is enough support, you can legit start a movement across the globe, as there are so many people out there that watch your videos as well as jacks and pewds, that you can inspire so many more people around the world. I myself am planning on bringing together a bunch of people together with other fellow Australian youtubers and start a similar thing here in Melbourne. I doubt you'll be reading my comment, but I really want you to know that I completely support you and I will continue to support you, as well as so many other people on this planet. But the numbers are still enormous, and multinational. Anyone that reaches out to the masses could join Mark's plight and further his influence for good. I swear Mark is the type of person we need more of. This is the type of thing that can change not only a community of people but society itself, honestly, and I think that it's a great idea. I think that in his life Mark has given everything and then some, and he's still trying to do more good and I appreciate that even if this type of thing doesn't even go anywhere near me or my city or other countries or if it even works at all. Any change for the good is what counts and this video by itself is a lot of inspiration and sharing your philosophy on life is doing some good for this community as a start.

what' you're needing to do is set up a list of 20-30 cities (preferably large), and get in contact with the local homeless shelter, food banks, and city council. Tell them what you want to do, and have them okay it. Have a timeline of what you'd be doing that day to better the community and PROMOTE THE HELL OUT OF IT. Get as MANY volunteers as possible, and get to work in feeding the homeless (From so and so time to whatever), then picking up trash in the streets, and then ets. Make a plan of what you'd be doing that day, and maybe have teams switch in and out of different chores. Maybe set up a website for people to sign up to support it, and assign leaders of these teams (I'd say maybe 30-50 different teams, of like 10 each) and they'd have their own list of chores to get done. This would help the community and also help with volunteer hours. I'd really love to help get a shape of this.
Mark, I don't know if you'll see this comment, but I have to write it. I once thought it was my responsibility to make the world a better place. I thought it was my responsibility to take care of everyone. I tried to conjure up any idea I could think of to reshape society into what it should be. Then I found you. You've already done it. Your reshaping society and everyone in this community is going to help you do it. I couldn't possibly be more proud or amazed at what you have accomplished and what you will accomplish. I think I speak for the entire markiplier fan base when I say we love you and hell yeah we're gonna change the world.
The fact that you make these videos designed to guide your community not just on TH-cam, but to embrace and change the world, is astounding and respectful in its own regard. You're an inspiration, Mark, to millions of people. I can see this movement you're attempting to make going far, and with you as its spearhead, it will come to pass. Ideas for this movement could include: An Interstate Highway clean-up (from one major city to another), A get-together of subscribers to advertise awareness for one of your major charities (Marathon, Trash-pick up), or you could make an impact by selling T-Shirts saying, "I donated for X" to help fund organizations attempting to assist African refugees, or assist the Indian populace. Something as simple as a custom T-Shirt with proceeds to a minor organization (in need of recognition) could help change the world like you want. I see a lot of commercials on TV about changing the world, a lot of never really do anything truly effective for the world.....Markiplier i think this could be it. If every celebrity did this, we'd change the world massively in the matter of months. It's the thing of pulling it off though.... Safely and secure. You'll figure it out i know you will :)
People always say that Markiplier isn't the same person he used to be and that he's "lost his essence." Why? Why would anybody think that? He's still just as caring and loving as he was when he started his channel, if not more. Yeah his following has grown and he's a busier man, but dammit the fact that he still wants to dedicate as much time as he can into helping people while also doing everything else that he does is outstanding. He has so much heart. I will personally take a flight from Arizona to Cincinnati to be a part of something as awesome as randomly helping people. Like come on. That's so cool.
Would informing city officials of cities you wish to volunteer help is a planning process? Or volunteer groups already in the city? Telling them a group is coming to volunteer for the weekend?

My friend brought this up recently saying she worried about how bad this world may be for her future child/children because this whole world is going to crap. People don't stop the bullying, no one tries to and she's worried that that's the type of world her children will be in, be apart of. She wants a good place where she knows her kids will be safe, will be happy. But she always says that will never happen, that her kids will have to deal with all the bullying, all the hate and terror and anger and war that is always around will impact them and every future generation that is to come. And she's not wrong. I wish that everything Mark says could actually happen and then we'd never have to face such horrific truths. I would love for this to become a reality, to help the people present and the people in the future that's to come. It do this world so much good and so much happiness and positivity and we'd actually be changing this world and making everyone's lives easier and happier

So much so that I completed my psychology degree and am now training to be a person centred counsellor. You’ve helped me through depression and all kinds of struggles. Mark what you need to do is pick a city, date, and time then tell everone to come to a campground or field and tell them to bring tents and food (to eat and donate) and just make a giant camp then we go and help everyone in the city and do it as long as we can then come back to the camp sleep and the next day help even more, and i garente you that i will be there if i can (i mean there is only so much a 12-year-old can do) but i would help and i hope that everyone who can will help make the world a better place. good day every body!

It would be truly amazing to have all of the people in this community come together and actually meet each other instead of everyone just typing to each other on the computer. Dear Mark, I think that your speech in this video was very inspiring and I hope that one day not only your dream but our dream to will happen and change this world to such an extent that everyone will be positive no one will have to live on the streets or suffer from poverty or be more mistreated than wild animals. Your speech really got to me today because it reminded me of my father for until he was 17 he was homeless with his little sister, little brother, mother, and father and during his time being homeless he would work very hard for he was his family's main support because nor his mother or father good get a well enough job for them to be able to live in a house. One of the easiest ways to do what your talking about, Mark, is to set up a foundation, if every one of your fans kicked in $5 and you took that money to set up a foundation, then you have the charity organization that you're looking for. There's no need to find an outside company to help you do this project. you could set up your own. and that would be the story of you. That would be your legacy.
And look, I know that not everyone could shell out 5 bucks or that everyone would, but those of us that have more could give more, and those that don't could give less, but if you decide to do this, set up a kickstarter, and I will make sure everyone I know contributes.
Hey Mark, I just wanted to say I am so proud of you and how you turned up as a person, and to say thanks for the happiness you've giving us all. Although I've had my share of personal dealings, I've been wanting to give something, or do something for the world that changes it for the better, to show that we as humans actually CAN bring positive change. So here's my idea that I am set on doing, or helping with one day: *Every day on TV, you see these commercials that say 'donate a dollar to feed a child in Africa,' and yet everyday, more are starving. I believe if all the biggest TH-camrs got together, (not just a few, AS MANY AS POSSIBLE,) and for one whole year, they had multiple charity livestreams, not just with each other, but really just small livestreams with friends, covering different subjects and games to bring in viewers and spread this change. After the year is up, with all this money, we could commision busses, and vehicles to visit all these villages and move these people close to the coast. -Not on the coast, but near by 10-40 miles or so, where it's lush and green, and there we'll build green houses, and farms, and teach them how to make every day count toward another by helping in their community.* -I know that's a lot to ask for, but seeing as if we all got together, and collected all this money, and actually invested in this all ourselves, as a community, we could accomplish this! No joke, with the amount of big TH-camrs out there, we COULD make a huge difference, and we could do more than livestreams; we could visit towns and cities, and spread the news further! Imagine if each TH-cam made about..say.. between 10,000-20,000 dollars in that year. If we had at least 20 TH-camrs make that much over the course of a year, we could end up with almost half a million dollars. Yes these numbers are big, but feeding people is only temporary, WE NEED TO TAKE ACTION! Make a difference! I don't expect really that many to be on-board with my idea, but if we could drop all this negativity, and look at what we can do with our sheer numbers, we could take just about anything, it's up to us. Your videos bring joy to all my days, even when I'm on the brink of tears. You make me smile when I'm down, your smiling face brings me back on my feet and I know I can never repay you for what you gave me; you gave me true happiness when I least expected anyone to care. All your subscribers love you deeply, but most don't show it because they're ashamed of themselves. I should know, because I was once ashamed of myself too. I honestly love the idea of helping communities. You could set up a website where the people who are interested in participating can put down their information and how far they're willing to travel. Sponsors would be good to have like The Salvation Army who would be willing to help you set up meeting areas. It could be almost like a festival in cities. An open area could be set up with tents and in every city there could be a list of businesses and areas in need of help. The people who come to the tent can pick a place from the list and write down the names of people who are in their group going to that location, that way you can keep track of what places still need volunteers or what tasks have been neglected like trash pick up or can drives. That would also be a reason why sponsors would be good to have, some businesses maybe be willing to lower their prices or give a discount if it's for a good cause. I hope your dream becomes a reality. The world needs more people like you!

I hate when a video like this gets about 500k views whereas a FNAF video can get tens of millions of views. Granted, I know this is a new video, but people see Mark's face on the thumbnail, or a serious title, and they click away. It makes me sad how few people will watch the videos where Mark wants do REALLY change something. I fully support you Mark, keep doing this amazing stuff for the world.
I would LOVE to come to an event like this, but unfortunately I live over 8 hours from Cincinnati. The idea of doing a tour sounds GREAT though, way more people can join in on it, and we can change cities across America and help more people.

I actually think this is a very, very good idea and I think it would bring our community even closer together to do this, but I think maybe we could start out with changing the world in a smaller way, and people all over the world could part take? For example, we could leave 'happy notes' all over our cities, taped to lampposts and walls e.g. 'have a nice day!' 'stay strong' 'you're beautiful' ect and it could impact the people around us for the better. Maybe we could even leave your channel name or some kind of hashtag under it so the community could grow and expand. Just an idea though. (:

Oh my gosh YES! Mark, this is your best idea ever! Run with it! If my channel ever gets big, I'm going to do this, wether you decide to go through with this plan or not, I certainly will! Not that I'm going to wait until then to go out and help people... I know, I can do things by myself, as myself. I will. I do. I have before. But what I'm saying is, I would LOVE to be able to change things on the same scale that you do. I'm willing to pay the price of my own freedom (as you do) in order to do this. BUT, in the meantime, I would jump at the chance to help you out, whichever city you decide to clean up first! (Although Cincinnati would be best, because I live close enough to actually come help!) Also, my friend ***** already does a volunteer thing in Cincinnati with her church, and she told me that it would be great if you contacted her, if you wanted a place to start. Oh, one more thing; find some houses/buildings to fix up, and maybe get some artsy groups together to go paint over graffiti, maybe do some murals. I'd love to do something like that myself, I'm an artist. One thing is for sure; you would get all kinds of people coming out to help if you DID do this. Definitely more than a thousand. This is big enough that people will come from the other side of the world to be there, just to say they were a part of it. Don't underestimate your own power. Heck, if you put enough encouragement out there, people would probably get together and just do it themselves. Your 'army' is bigger than you think it is, you know... for all the people that have subscribed to your channel, there are probably a lot more that DON'T subscribe, either because they don't have a youtube account to subscribe WITH, or for a myriad of other reasons. I've rambled long enough. Dang, I'm almost as bad as you! -_o
I feel it's a noble cause. And just like starting any organization I feel it's just about execution. Come up with a name like "Changing Faces" or something and build momentum behind the brand. Set it up like a conference. We can coordinate with venues, charge for tickets, donate the proceeds. That will help on the financial front. Start a a youtube series with the title of the movement and each episode would be a different city. Build traction through volunteers and coordinate a monthly meeting time in each city. It'd be difficult at first but the positivity that would derive from it would be priceless. With the amount of you tubers out there we could create a social web that allows for people to jump in and contribute and since we'd hit all major cities and even small towns, there'd be almost no way that we wouldn't get participation. I say green light and just announce it and go for it. Viewers will unite!
Okay, so I'm probably just going to be a comment no one really notices, which is fine, but I may not be creative enough and have any ideas, but Mark, I'm telling 100% truth. Anything you set up, I will do as much as possible to help. Whether it be an event on the other side of the country or going outside with some friends and picking up trash, I'll do it. While you were talking Mark I got this Idea: What if I and a few friends reached out to my school district and say "Look, I feel that our area needs some cleaning and help so why not reach out to all the schools (( all the high schools, middle, and elementary schools )) that are in a close area and just go out and do some good. We could have teachers supervise and not cross mix schools because of how many people there could possibly be. Not only would it help our area look much better BUT it gives high schoolers a chance to get in their community service hours (( at my high school in order to get a special seal on our diploma we need to get a certain amount of service hours )) it gives middle schools a head start on their hours and a chance to learn more about compassion and for them to know what it's like to help others. For elementary students it would be like the middle schoolers." I think they would say yes and it would all be voluntary. I just wanted to share my idea.

Minami Love Your idea is really great, and you should do it, tho i don't know how your school is, but you may want to try starting off small, see if you can get it started at your school, and try to think of ways to make it fun, as well as helpful, as there are people like me who find it fun just helping others, but not everyone is like that, so maybe make it casually competitive, like "who ever does the best job get this". but thats just a suggestion. I would like to also help Mark make his idea real, as i have experience with volunteering, and Event's as i work as a Event Security Guard, and i also have friends that i can get advice from, i made a comment but sadly it got lost in the comments :( now i just want to be able to let mark know i can help

I'm watching this is 2017, and I'm wishing I could have watched this in 2015. I would love to do that volunteer thing, I live in Canada and I would definitely buy a ticket with the little money I have to do this. Because I do believe what I do in my lifetime will be remembered. And I want to impact peoples lives, because you can't change people unless you convince them, and make them think. Make them second guess their choices and pathways. I've always wanted to help make this world better, for people to become more empathetic, and to make people understand that this world needs change. I have many theories on how to make this world a better one, but it's hard to do so when my voice is so little and unaffected when posted on social media like this. I know without a doubt however, that you Mark have changed lives and will continue to do so in the future. You've changed mine, and I make decisions everyday to make me and other people better. You're a precious part of this world, and we definitely will not forget you.

I will admit, I cried a bit. Not because of him talking about his death and whatnot, but the realization that all he is and all he wants to do is to influence us for the better. I was just watching this, and somewhere near the middle a thought crossed my mind. _This man here, the man that's come so far both in life and in his career... all he wants to do and be, is good._ I saw him then in a new light. I saw an angel before me. One that entertains and inspires on a daily basis. I saw him not as a successful youtuber, but as a single man that understands he only has a limited time here on earth and uses that fact as motivation to do something and say something that will hopefully make something or someone better. This is actually a really good idea! Even though I might be in 7th grade, I still might talk to the school about having just a day where we can go around and help. And if that doesn't work then hopefully. I can get my town to go around and help clean the town we live in and love up or go to a city here and start helping out, doing food drives, giving clothes to people, donating money to people who might not have that much (like me thanks to moms disability), picking up the streets, mowing peoples laws! All for free. We wouldn't require money in return, heck, I would actually decline the money no matter what! I really hope this video, this message you are saying gets out to people who might not have subscribed yet, or might not like your channel, because this idea might not work the first few times, heck, it might not help the first few times. But I know that if we keep trying, we will be able to make it work, and maybe, just maybe, save a lot of lives.

This is such an amazing idea and changing the world is such a beautiful concept which is so possible if everyone just puts a little bit of themselves and their time into making a positive impact on the world. If you do read this Mark, I just want you to know that I believe that if you ask some other youtubers out there they would be so happy to help you out with this and if you can get other youtubers involved even more people will join in and therefore more people will be influenced positivity, even in other countries!

This song is Give Me Your Eyes by Brandon Heath. It is a song that is written from a Christian perspective, but I know not everyone agrees with it, so please just hear me out. Just like Mark said, imagine what it would be like if we went out of our comfort zone to positively affect those people who seem to be on the outskirts of our radar at best. Can you imagine the change that would happen in our daily lives and relationships when we take on a heart that is renewed by kindness, love, and compassion? We tend to be very wrapped up in our own personal struggles and agendas that we miss crucial things. I know that's true for me. What if we took that half second before firing back towards someone who has insulted us to instead look for something positive about them? I ask that you begin this change in your heart, because the mouth speaks what the heart feels.

I go by the alias Werekay, I'm someone who also struggles with both depression and anxiety, but you've inspired me to lend a helping hand and contribute to the changing of this world in what little ways I can. You've given so such over the course of your time here on TH-cam, and I believe it's about time we all, as a community, pitch in and give back. We can help push towards the goal of changing the world around us for the better, at at the same time, help out each-other in this community. This is why I don't like pewdiepie. He doesn't do this kind of stuff. And yet people still watch him. Atleast mark cares about the world and tries to help people. And not just sit down playing video games for subscribers. Felix has done a couple of charities and stuff like that, but that's nothing compared to what mark does. I totally agree with you friend.
I honestly think it's not that they don't have a heart or don't have a soul or things like that. I think most people just like seeing more of Mark's reactions. That said, I don't like that there are dislikes on a video when it's a good one that is supposed to be one done on a personal basis of his viewers, from fans to newcomers to those like me who subscribed to his old channel from way back. So all in all I'm saying this: this video is beautiful, the dislikers aren't horrible people, and most of those probably just wanted a different video. Dear mark, I have seen that many don't agree with you. Many are saying you are naive. Many say you are being unrealistic. But the thing is, it is unrealistic because they won't try to make it real. So I have an idea to make this volunteering stuff a reality: As a start, at every con Mark (and other TH-camrs) goes to, there could be a series of community meet-ups to do volunteer work. There would be a lot of community members in the area for the con, and the cons usually take place in bigger cities that could use some cleaning up. There could be meet-ups after every day of the con or one big service day after the con ends or something.

Lets go to our schools and begin convincing the Principal/v-Principal(s), staff, and ASB if they have it to begin this project. My concern is the initial start up as it will take preparation and convincing to do so, but if we can make this work, we can spread it around the world and make it a better place!
I'm disappointed that many of the comments are praising Mark ("Run for president!") instead of providing legitimate ideas. COME ON, GUYS. Is being noticed by senpai all you really think about? On the topic at hand- a tour could be possible. I think if you got fellow LP'ers to join up, form "teams" and each team went a different city, that would help many areas and bring out more people. However, I think it should be more involved than just donating cans- have everyone make food and hold a public "pot luck" for the homeless and hungry. Visit veterans hospitals and have all of these talented artists in the community bring cards- they love getting "thank you for protecting our country" cards! At the very least, you could try having a "service day" where everyone does service in their own communities, and tweets out their deeds under a hashtag (for awareness and accountability purposes). It's a good idea, but I hope you'll actually follow through. This is the kind of message I've been wanting to hear from you, Mark.

I posted this before I listened to the whole video. I haven't changed my mind, rather I'd like to extend some advice. I know you were saying you need tips on how to organize the meet up. I'm sure talking to different volunteer organizations in the area would be a first step. They may be willing to support the meeting. Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, soup kitchens, animal shelters, you name it everyone is looking for volunteers! I've helped coordinate a few smaller (MUCH smaller) events and there is a lot that goes along with making them happen, but if you find the right people it'll go off without a hitch! If you end up doing one in the GA, SC, NC area I'd love to help coordinate! And if you do end up having a volunteer meet up in Cincinnati my husband and I would be there in a heartbeat!
Videos like this are what pushed me to subscribe and follow you. You make a lot of funny videos and you give me a laugh pretty much every day, but you're such a humble and good person that I felt I needed to be a part of this community. Changing the world is a lofty goal, but I'd be right there with you. And I'm sure many other people would love to do this as well! Your idea of a con meetup being more of a volunteer gathering is great and I'd love to see that come to fruition, especially if a company helps back the idea! And also going on tours to different cities for the same thing would be fantastic.

I feel like every other day, a TH-camr or streamer that I follow comes up with an idea for something like this, or simply runs a charity stream or something similar, and every single time I feel bad that I haven't any money to help. But it's a bit calming to know I'm one in 9 million, in this case.
Crawfishness I also know how you feel. But in this case it would be more about time than money. We wouldn't be donating money to something we would be actually going out and helping the community where ever you happen to be.
Markiplier i truly believe in my heart and soul that one day we will see are world were everyone understands one another, were kids won't have to grow up in a world ruined by fear and hatred. a place were people won't ever have to go hungry or worry about things like war and murder. every day not matter where i am i try my best to make complete strangers smile by either saying something funny or just generally being a nice person, like opening doors for people or helping them in some small way. i love this video because it speaks to my heart in that you are generally and genuinely kind hearted. the only way that we get to achieve that kind of goal is together, hand in hand. what drew me to your channel was how your videos always seem to make my day, whenever im bummed out or feeling low i watch one of your videos and boom instantly happy. and its soo cool that you spread that love and caring attitude with every video you make. thank you mark. thank you for being a good person in such a cruel world. i hope that the legacy you pass down to all of us lives on forever and helps shape this world for the better, and i think that it is an excellent idea! maybe what you could do is get a hold of whoever in a town or city that can give you a permit or help you set up a place for everyone to gather then from there get a list of all the soup kitchens, clothing banks and homeless shelters in that town or city and have everyone split into groups and head to each one and give something that they no longer need or buy things for people who need them. food nd cloths for the homeless toys for kids of the same. i with you man!! lets start changing the world
One of the reasons I started watching Mark is because he and I have the same outlook on life. I'm already an activist, a volunteer and run a non - profit gaming network that I will be using to raise awareness and money for charity. One thing I will say is that awareness is crucial as the are a lot of awful things in the world that some will never have even heard of. For example; I have a disability known as 'Erb's Palsy'. I cannot use my left arm and it seems to get worse with age - but because it is rare, there is no help or research put into it. My future is therefore uncertain. This could bring me down but instead it motivates me to help others and do whatever I can to make a difference. By sharing knowledge about everything we want to see changed is sharing an opportunity to change it. I hope this makes sense :)

When you think your a ruler... Compare yourself to the Earth, then compare the Earth to the sun.... then compare that to our solar system.... then compare that to our galaxy... then... compare our galaxy to the universe and compare that to the multiverse... Then compare yourself too everything that I mentioned. Every one is a small speck in the universe, but they can do a HUGE difference. But these words are small, they take time to travel across the world and internet... It probably will never get anywhere.

This is a good idea, Mark. This is a really good idea. I can honestly say that I love how you put everything you wanted to say in the video. Society is slowly changing each and everyday wether it's for the better or for the worse. However, it definitely needs to change for the better or continue to change for the better. Things have happened and personally, I think that those things helped the world change for the better. Although, some other people may disagree. The community that revolves around your channel is capable of doing so many amazing things. We all well know that. This world we have is a crazy place. Not because it is but because what humans do to it. We all have dreams and ideas and the ones with the will to see it through will do what ever they can to see it become reality. Mark, your idea is great and lots of ideas are great for human kind. This world we live in is were we started it and what humans did to it and what we do to each other is awful if you look on that side of things. There is hope and your one of the people who have hope. We all can do better but its a very very hard thing to do almost impossible almost it the word. there is a chance. I have a dream not for this world but for humans. I want to be able to leave this world and find a new home travel in deep space and start again on a new planet. This is only my idea and there are far more then mine. Those who want to change the world and change life will try for good reasons or for bad. You are one person who has a great idea and anyone who can see it through and can make a difference in anyway possible will change. Even if its just a little they can change.
Very motivating speech Mark! I love your goals and the passion you have for wanting to make a difference. My idea would be that you could make one day out of every week a "Change the World" day and challenge your fans to go out and make a difference, and do something good and then take a picture of it and send it to you/a hashtag on Twitter, and every Change the World day you pick one picture and you put it in a public scrapbook for people to see. At he end of the year you could make a video of every picture in the book for youtube :)
This idea kinda reminds me of Gishwhes (Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen)! It's like this big goofy week long scavenger hunt were you do silly and good deeds, take pictures or video and send them in for points to win the competition. All of the proceeds from the hunt go to the nonprofit organization RandomActs which helps fund new ways to help people. I think it would be awesome to kinda play off of that idea. :)
Take that idea of a special day of changing the world and if you are in the US of A we can take it to the White House and spread it to the rest of the world to change it.

This Video has really touched me. There is allot of things in this that just Connects the Strings and ties the knots. There is allot of people out there suffering from Things that have happened in there lives. Friends Coming and going, Loved ones fading, There is allot of corruption and chaos happening that Hurt allot of people. As i have noticed there is allot more people suffering from Depression and Other mental Illness's. That Stops some people from continuing. I myself have Anxiety, Depression and (symptoms of Schizo) It's Horrible living with it. Always Being blocked by that Wall that is there, The voices, The things i see. This, This message that you have sent out mark Right now has Mostly just put me into Tears I myself Is trying to Become Similar to you. Change for the better. I only want to Start to do youtube to become a person that can Help. Help people. My 2 brothers have problems of there own. My Older brother suffers from Crohns disease and my little Brother is disabled with several palsy. I've always looked at myself and Though "what could i do to help them and do what i do best." Screw you. You just want attention. JK, may you make the right choices in life, and don't give up hope! I know what TN is is like, I've thought of suicide, and much of it aswell. I just tell my self that it's not worth it. You must live your life to the fullest. Everyone has the ability to change the world, for good or for worse. make the right choice. For good. We must keep this world alive, but only us, the people, can do it. Just remember to never give up hope. A lot of people have things worse than you, so all we can do for them is pray, gift them things, and help them in any way possible.

As for the idea, I think it's absolutely brilliant. I live in one of the tiniest towns in Ohio, but I would try to help in any way I could. I probably couldn't drive very far, but goddamn it I'd try. If we could do this we could spread so much happiness. It would be amazing.

@Markiplier He achieved just that almost a year and a half later in 2016-2017, he took the time to go on tour and be an excellent content creator the entire way from 2012 to 2020. Never failing at any juncture, but instead learning from mistakes and coming back from hard times. I love this idea!! In the UK there is a lot of homeless people, and sometimes I just want to give them some food or sit down to talk with them but because of my anxiety, its hard to talk to a stranger ;-;

Yeah..but I do donate clothes/toys per year. With my help from my family, I really hope this will help people to smile again and enjoy with their life.

The internet is obsessed with "Challenges" Do the #MarkiplierChallenge Where Markiplier Fans in every town Makes a Vlog talking about what they did to improve the community every weekend say Friday or what have you, and have it as a montage of members of the community doing their part. They can do whatever they want with the videos but every friday; after so long there will be so much footage of how everyone is helping, that it can be appreciated and everyone involved being credited can take pride in the fact that this is sweeping the nation and bettering our world. Here are a few of my thoughts that bubbled up after listening to this video:
I agree that Mark has a tremendious amount of people following him. With all that 'power' lets call it, he could create a movement showing postive change for societies. I feel that Mark and other let's players influnce their viewers to the extent that, some might think, "Hey, thats a good idea. This one man that I love to watch everyday is trying to promote good deeds in his bubble of friends. I wonder what I could do to help him or others where I live?" People need good role models that are genuine and truly want to help others with no thought of reward or profit. Even if the idea fails at first, there are so many of us here, that someone, somewhere could have the means to start something like this. Personally, I say go for it Mark. You already shine as a postive example for people of any age. Even though it is only an idea, that is all it takes for something to change.
I could see a fan meet up advertised for a day or two. Some could help at soup kitchens, animal shelters, clean up parks, assist at a nursing home..etc. Even people who know nothing about Markiplier might be interested in just helping and thus the bubble grows larger. And the feeling of helping is a grand one indeed. It might even bring people out of depression or sadness because they see the gratitude in the eyes of those they help.
My only other thought flew stright to some of the residents that live in a group home I work at. They all have degrees of intellectual disabilities, but they love to help and they love having people come visit them. Two practially spring to mind. They both lvoe video games, but don't have a lot of friends outside of their small circle of peers that enjoy games. Whenever I talk about what game he is playing or how my husband has the same game and loves it, he just lights up. We have people visit all the time. There is another avenue of people I know could use the love. Some residents don't even have family.
Now I see I have written a novel, but this video has sparked something inside me. I draw, write and paint and I have always looked for a way to bring my ideas of love, compassion, evniromental conservation etc into my creative expressions. I feel the need to do something and maybe that is one thing Mark had to mind. Spark the change, light the fire in peoples hearts! Video games and this channel are media Mark uses, just like I do, for the same reason. Thank you Mark for having the caring heart to use your influence for good. If this comes to light I will be there willingly to help.
And...I feel the need to give the whole internet a hug. *HUGS*

Hi Mark. My two oldest children follow your videos. I'm sorry to say I don't know much about your work, but my oldest recently brought your "Changing The World" video to my attention. I applaud you for teying to use your influence in such a positive way. After our discussion, she actually posted some of the ideas here in the comments. I noticed as I was reading through some of them how there were many saying that they were just kids and did not have the power to make a difference or to change things. Sadly, they do not realize that the generations to come have GREAT power to change the ever declining way of thinking, behaviors, hatred, and overall way that we treat one another as human beings. So here is my thought...you mentioned possibly touring the country or visiting different cities to try to put your idea into actions. Why not try to work with the schools in some of these cities? Speak to the ones whose minds are still open with hope. We all know that the schools have many clubs and organizations for the kids. Speak to the school as a whole about your hope for change. Encourage them to use their clubs and organizations for philanthropies throughout their communities. This would be a way for the younger followers to be involved but still include adults as well. One example would be asking for donated clothes, necessities, or even toys for residents of homeless shelters or women's shelters. I also feel that some of the elderly in the communities need more help than people are aware of due to their fixed incomes. Often times they are left to decide whether to buy food, medicines, or pay for utilites much less even think about yard maintenance, home repairs, or anything of that nature that could possibly be helped with donations of supplies and time.
There are endless ways that your 9 million followers could make a difference. Put them to the challenge. One random act of kindness by each follower could make someone else's day a little better and may even encourage that person to do the same. Even the smallest gestures can make the biggest impacts.
Anyway, it's just some thoughts that have been on my mind since my daughter brought this to my attention. I wish you the best of luck and hope to hear more about your work on this in the future.

sundayrayne You have so many good thoughts here. Mark has the honor of being able to reach out to the next generation. I truly believe that community participation is a key component to reaching out to others. I also feel that there are many people out there who need help that go unnoticed because they don't have the right connections to the community or the resources to find them. In addition to all the great ideas you posted here, I think having a means of matching volunteers to those who need assistance would be really helpful.
One of the best ways to connect volunteers with those who need help is word of mouth. Ask around among church members, family, or friends. There is usually always someone who knows somebody else that may need help. You could also check to see if there are any organizations set up within your community that assist your target group. Approach those organizations with what service your volunteer group Is offering and ask them to contact you if you can be of assistance to anyone they work with.
I love Markiplier because he seems so genuine. It doesn't feel like he says/does things just to do it, it feels like he actually means what he's saying. He's such a good role model and I'm so glad my nephew also looks up to a guy like this. We need more people like Markiplier.

I love TH-cam, and how it in and of its self is a community where peel can draw inspiration from others, I am subscribed to both of you and seeing how all of you guys are connected is amazing.
I can but can't believe this is coming from the person who spills drinks and shouts when angry, who jokes about dicks all the time, etc. But, this is the..."positive" (maybe?) Markiplier. The Markiplier who gets emotional really truly knowing the size of his community. The Markiplier who does good things for us; The world. The Markiplier who helps haters or fangirls/boys. +Markiplier I had a serious talk with my mom about what almost 9 million people could do to change the world for the better after I watched this video. I told her about you and what you wanted to do. She had a good idea that you could pick certain people for areas around the world, then those people could gather everyone else in their area who wanted to contribute. A couple hundred people maybe? Or fewer. Then that small group would go to communities inside their area or county or state or whatever, and clean up, do food drives, give clothes to people, help the elderly people get money for living (Which is a huge issue right now.), and other things that could help people. That was just an idea, but I think we could all definitely do something like that. Thanks for your time. Hope we can all change the world and make it a better place because it does need some work.

Danielle Sawyer I just had the same talk with my mom. Litetally around the same time. I think this would be an amazing idea an I'd volunteer to organize this for Austria. I'd love to do this since this is basically everything I believe in. Anyways, I hope that Marks sees this and thinks this is a great idea because this would definetely make it into the media of different countries and would probably inspire other people to do such things. If it's about charity/doing good things, the bigger, the better, because this needs to reach more people. That one day of your life can easily help others for weeks.

Hey Mark, I was wondering about what you said, and it really sparked an idea in my head. Since I'm just a regular bloke from Australia, and like many others, I'm not from America, you could use your connections that you have with other youtubers for example Jacksepticeye and Pewdiepie, and get them to start a similar thing in their respective countries. That way when there is enough support, you can legit start a movement across the globe, as there are so many people out there that watch your videos as well as jacks and pewds, that you can inspire so many more people around the world. I myself am planning on bringing together a bunch of people together with other fellow Australian youtubers and start a similar thing here in Melbourne. I doubt you'll be reading my comment, but I really want you to know that I completely support you and I will continue to support you, as well as so many other people on this planet. what' you're needing to do is set up a list of 20-30 cities (preferably large), and get in contact with the local homeless shelter, food banks, and city council. Tell them what you want to do, and have them okay it. Have a timeline of what you'd be doing that day to better the community and PROMOTE THE HELL OUT OF IT. Get as MANY volunteers as possible, and get to work in feeding the homeless (From so and so time to whatever), then picking up trash in the streets, and then ets. Make a plan of what you'd be doing that day, and maybe have teams switch in and out of different chores. Maybe set up a website for people to sign up to support it, and assign leaders of these teams (I'd say maybe 30-50 different teams, of like 10 each) and they'd have their own list of chores to get done. This would help the community and also help with volunteer hours. I'd really love to help get a shape of this.

I thought it was my responsibility to take care of everyone. I tried to conjure up any idea I could think of to reshape society into what it should be. Then I found you. You've already done it. The fact that you make these videos designed to guide your community not just on TH-cam, but to embrace and change the world, is astounding and respectful in its own regard. You're an inspiration, Mark, to millions of people. I can see this movement you're attempting to make going far, and with you as its spearhead, it will come to pass. Ideas for this movement could include: An Interstate Highway clean-up (from one major city to another), A get-together of subscribers to advertise awareness for one of your major charities (Marathon, Trash-pick up), or you could make an impact by selling T-Shirts saying, "I donated for X" to help fund organizations attempting to assist African refugees, or assist the Indian populace. Something as simple as a custom T-Shirt with proceeds to a minor organization (in need of recognition) could help change the world like you want.

People always say that Markiplier isn't the same person he used to be and that he's "lost his essence." Why? Why would anybody think that? He's still just as caring and loving as he was when he started his channel, if not more. Yeah his following has grown and he's a busier man, but dammit the fact that he still wants to dedicate as much time as he can into helping people while also doing everything else that he does is outstanding. He has so much heart. I will personally take a flight from Arizona to Cincinnati to be a part of something as awesome as randomly helping people. Like come on. That's so cool.

My friend brought this up recently saying she worried about how bad this world may be for her future child/children because this whole world is going to crap. People don't stop the bullying, no one tries to and she's worried that that's the type of world her children will be in, be apart of. She wants a good place where she knows her kids will be safe, will be happy. But she always says that will never happen, that her kids will have to deal with all the bullying, all the hate and terror and anger and war that is always around will impact them and every future generation that is to come. And she's not wrong. I wish that everything Mark says could actually happen and then we'd never have to face such horrific truths. I would love for this to become a reality, to help the people present and the people in the future that's to come. It do this world so much good and so much happiness and positivity and we'd actually be changing this world and making everyone's lives easier and happier

Dear Mark, I think that your speech in this video was very inspiring and I hope that one day not only your dream but our dream to will happen and change this world to such an extent that everyone will be positive no one will have to live on the streets or suffer from poverty or be more mistreated than wild animals. Your speech really got to me today because it reminded me of my father for until he was 17 he was homeless with his little sister, little brother, mother, and father and during his time being homeless he would work very hard for he was his family's main support because nor his mother or father good get a well enough job for them to be able to live in a house. I hope that when you pass you'll be remembered as a kind, sweet, funny, and knowledgeable person and when you do your charity live streams that you'll eventually be able to go around the world, share your message, and end this world's suffering.

One of the easiest ways to do what your talking about, Mark, is to set up a foundation, if every one of your fans kicked in $5 and you took that money to set up a foundation, then you have the charity organization that you're looking for. There's no need to find an outside company to help you do this project. you could set up your own. and that would be the story of you. That would be your legacy.
And look, I know that not everyone could shell out 5 bucks or that everyone would, but those of us that have more could give more, and those that don't could give less, but if you decide to do this, set up a kickstarter, and I will make sure everyone I know contributes.

Although I've had my share of personal dealings, I've been wanting to give something, or do something for the world that changes it for the better, to show that we as humans actually CAN bring positive change.
So here's my idea that I am set on doing, or helping with one day: *Every day on TV, you see these commercials that say 'donate a dollar to feed a child in Africa,' and yet everyday, more are starving. I believe if all the biggest TH-camrs got together, (not just a few, AS MANY AS POSSIBLE,) and for one whole year, they had multiple charity livestreams, not just with each other, but really just small livestreams with friends, covering different subjects and games to bring in viewers and spread this change. After the year is up, with all this money, we could commision busses, and vehicles to visit all these villages and move these people close to the coast. -Not on the coast, but near by 10-40 miles or so, where it's lush and green, and there we'll build green houses, and farms, and teach them how to make every day count toward another by helping in their community.*
-I know that's a lot to ask for, but seeing as if we all got together, and collected all this money, and actually invested in this all ourselves, as a community, we could accomplish this! No joke, with the amount of big TH-camrs out there, we COULD make a huge difference, and we could do more than livestreams; we could visit towns and cities, and spread the news further! Imagine if each TH-cam made about..say.. between 10,000-20,000 dollars in that year. If we had at least 20 TH-camrs make that much over the course of a year, we could end up with almost half a million dollars. Yes these numbers are big, but feeding people is only temporary, WE NEED TO TAKE ACTION! Make a difference!
I don't expect really that many to be on-board with my idea, but if we could drop all this negativity, and look at what we can do with our sheer numbers, we could take just about anything, it's up to us. Markiplier

I honestly love the idea of helping communities. You could set up a website where the people who are interested in participating can put down their information and how far they're willing to travel. Sponsors would be good to have like The Salvation Army who would be willing to help you set up meeting areas. It could be almost like a festival in cities. An open area could be set up with tents and in every city there could be a list of businesses and areas in need of help. The people who come to the tent can pick a place from the list and write down the names of people who are in their group going to that location, that way you can keep track of what places still need volunteers or what tasks have been neglected like trash pick up or can drives. That would also be a reason why sponsors would be good to have, some businesses maybe be willing to lower their prices or give a discount if it's for a good cause. I hope your dream becomes a reality. The world needs more people like you!

I hate when a video like this gets about 500k views whereas a FNAF video can get tens of millions of views. Granted, I know this is a new video, but people see Mark's face on the thumbnail, or a serious title, and they click away. It makes me sad how few people will watch the videos where Mark wants do REALLY change something. I fully support you Mark, keep doing this amazing stuff for the world.
I would LOVE to come to an event like this, but unfortunately I live over 8 hours from Cincinnati. The idea of doing a tour sounds GREAT though, way more people can join in on it, and we can change cities across America and help more people.

I actually think this is a very, very good idea and I think it would bring our community even closer together to do this, but I think maybe we could start out with changing the world in a smaller way, and people all over the world could part take? For example, we could leave 'happy notes' all over our cities, taped to lampposts and walls e.g. 'have a nice day!' 'stay strong' 'you're beautiful' ect and it could impact the people around us for the better. Maybe we could even leave your channel name or some kind of hashtag under it so the community could grow and expand. Just an idea though. (:

Oh my gosh YES! Mark, this is your best idea ever! Run with it! If my channel ever gets big, I'm going to do this, wether you decide to go through with this plan or not, I certainly will! Not that I'm going to wait until then to go out and help people... I know, I can do things by myself, as myself. I will. I do. I have before. But what I'm saying is, I would LOVE to be able to change things on the same scale that you do. I'm willing to pay the price of my own freedom (as you do) in order to do this. BUT, in the meantime, I would jump at the chance to help you out, whichever city you decide to clean up first! (Although Cincinnati would be best, because I live close enough to actually come help!) Also, my friend ***** already does a volunteer thing in Cincinnati with her church, and she told me that it would be great if you contacted her, if you wanted a place to start. Oh, one more thing; find some houses/buildings to fix up, and maybe get some artsy groups together to go paint over graffiti, maybe do some murals. I'd love to do something like that myself, I'm an artist. One thing is for sure; you would get all kinds of people coming out to help if you DID do this. Definitely more than a thousand. This is big enough that people will come from the other side of the world to be there, just to say they were a part of it. Don't underestimate your own power. Heck, if you put enough encouragement out there, people would probably get together and just do it themselves. Your 'army' is bigger than you think it is, you know... for all the people that have subscribed to your channel, there are probably a lot more that DON'T subscribe, either because they don't have a youtube account to subscribe WITH, or for a myriad of other reasons.

I feel it's a noble cause. And just like starting any organization I feel it's just about execution. Come up with a name like "Changing Faces" or something and build momentum behind the brand. Set it up like a conference. We can coordinate with venues, charge for tickets, donate the proceeds. That will help on the financial front. Start a a youtube series with the title of the movement and each episode would be a different city. Build traction through volunteers and coordinate a monthly meeting time in each city. It'd be difficult at first but the positivity that would derive from it would be priceless. With the amount of you tubers out there we could create a social web that allows for people to jump in and contribute and since we'd hit all major cities and even small towns, there'd be almost no way that we wouldn't get participation. I say green light and just announce it and go for it. Viewers will unite!
Okay, so I'm probably just going to be a comment no one really notices, which is fine, but I may not be creative enough and have any ideas, but Mark, I'm telling 100% truth. Anything you set up, I will do as much as possible to help. Whether it be an event on the other side of the country or going outside with some friends and picking up trash, I'll do it. What if I and a few friends reached out to my school district and say "Look, I feel that our area needs some cleaning and help so why not reach out to all the schools (( all the high schools, middle, and elementary schools )) that are in a close area and just go out and do some good. We could have teachers supervise and not cross mix schools because of how many people there could possibly be. Not only would it help our area look much better BUT it gives high schoolers a chance to get in their community service hours (( at my high school in order to get a special seal on our diploma we need to get a certain amount of service hours )) it gives middle schools a head start on their hours and a chance to learn more about compassion and for them to know what it's like to help others. For elementary students it would be like the middle schoolers." I think they would say yes and it would all be voluntary. I just wanted to share my idea.
I couldn't finish typing but mark you truly are and inspiration and maybe if you teamed up with local organizations to get supervisors and stuff it will work out.
Minami Love Your idea is really great, and you should do it, tho i don't know how your school is, but you may want to try starting off small, see if you can get it started at your school, and try to think of ways to make it fun, as well as helpful, as there are people like me who find it fun just helping others, but not everyone is like that, so maybe make it casually competitive, like "who ever does the best job get this". but thats just a suggestion.

I'm watching this is 2017, and I'm wishing I could have watched this in 2015. I would love to do that volunteer thing, I live in Canada and I would definitely buy a ticket with the little money I have to do this. Because I do believe what I do in my lifetime will be remembered. And I want to impact peoples lives, because you can't change people unless you convince them, and make them think. Make them second guess their choices and pathways. I've always wanted to help make this world better, for people to become more empathetic, and to make people understand that this world needs change. I have many theories on how to make this world a better one, but it's hard to do so when my voice is so little and unaffected when posted on social media like this. I know without a doubt however, that you Mark have changed lives and will continue to do so in the future. You've changed mine, and I make decisions everyday to make me and other people better. You're a precious part of this world, and we definitely will not forget you.

I will admit, I cried a bit. Not because of him talking about his death and whatnot, but the realization that all he is and all he wants to do is to influence us for the better. I was just watching this, and somewhere near the middle a thought crossed my mind. _This man here, the man that's come so far both in life and in his career... all he wants to do and be, is good._ I saw him then in a new light. I saw an angel before me. One that entertains and inspires on a daily basis. I saw him not as a successful youtuber, but as a single man that understands he only has a limited time here on earth and uses that fact as motivation to do something and say something that will hopefully make something or someone better.
This is why I try harder to see the good in every person and every situation. He's the reason I am a better person today.

This is actually a really good idea! Even though I might be in 7th grade, I still might talk to the school about having just a day where we can go around and help. And if that doesn't work then hopefully. I can get my town to go around and help clean the town we live in and love up or go to a city here and start helping out, doing food drives, giving clothes to people, donating money to people who might not have that much (like me thanks to moms disability), picking up the streets, mowing peoples laws! All for free. We wouldn't require money in return, heck, I would actually decline the money no matter what! I really hope this video, this message you are saying gets out to people who might not have subscribed yet, or might not like your channel, because this idea might not work the first few times, heck, it might not help the first few times. But I know that if we keep trying, we will be able to make it work, and maybe, just maybe, save a lot of lives.

This is such an amazing idea and changing the world is such a beautiful concept which is so possible if everyone just puts a little bit of themselves and their time into making a positive impact on the world. Just like Mark said, imagine what it would be like if we went out of our comfort zone to positively affect those people who seem to be on the outskirts of our radar at best. Can you imagine the change that would happen in our daily lives and relationships when we take on a heart that is renewed by kindness, love, and compassion? We tend to be very wrapped up in our own personal struggles and agendas that we miss crucial things. I know that's true for me. What if we took that half second before firing back towards someone who has insulted us to instead look for something positive about them? I ask that you begin this change in your heart, because the mouth speaks what the heart feels.

I go by the alias Werekay, I'm someone who also struggles with both depression and anxiety, but you've inspired me to lend a helping hand and contribute to the changing of this world in what little ways I can.
You've given so such over the course of your time here on TH-cam, and I believe it's about time we all, as a community, pitch in and give back.
We can help push towards the goal of changing the world around us for the better, at at the same time, help out each-other in this community.
Nobody has to be alone, and this is why I've started Armyplier, a group dedicated to the sole purpose of supporting each-other and helping the world in any way, shape, or form.

I honestly think it's not that they don't have a heart or don't have a soul or things like that. I think most people just like seeing more of Mark's reactions. So I have an idea to make this volunteering stuff a reality:
As a start, at every con Mark (and other TH-camrs) goes to, there could be a series of community meet-ups to do volunteer work. There would be a lot of community members in the area for the con, and the cons usually take place in bigger cities that could use some cleaning up. There could be meet-ups after every day of the con or one big service day after the con ends or something.
Ann Clough awesome idea! I also had another idea that concerned the immediate community we live in. Lets go to our schools and begin convincing the Principal/v-Principal(s), staff, and ASB if they have it to begin this project.
My concern is the initial start up as it will take preparation and convincing to do so, but if we can make this work, we can spread it around the world and make it a better place!

On the topic at hand- a tour could be possible. I think if you got fellow LP'ers to join up, form "teams" and each team went a different city, that would help many areas and bring out more people. However, I think it should be more involved than just donating cans- have everyone make food and hold a public "pot luck" for the homeless and hungry. At the very least, you could try having a "service day" where everyone does service in their own communities, and tweets out their deeds under a hashtag (for awareness and accountability purposes).

I posted this before I listened to the whole video. I haven't changed my mind, rather I'd like to extend some advice. I know you were saying you need tips on how to organize the meet up. I'm sure talking to different volunteer organizations in the area would be a first step. They may be willing to support the meeting. Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, soup kitchens, animal shelters, you name it everyone is looking for volunteers! I've helped coordinate a few smaller (MUCH smaller) events and there is a lot that goes along with making them happen, but if you find the right people it'll go off without a hitch! If you end up doing one in the GA, SC, NC area I'd love to help coordinate! And if you do end up having a volunteer meet up in Cincinnati my husband and I would be there in a heartbeat!
Videos like this are what pushed me to subscribe and follow you. You make a lot of funny videos and you give me a laugh pretty much every day, but you're such a humble and good person that I felt I needed to be a part of this community. Changing the world is a lofty goal, but I'd be right there with you. And I'm sure many other people would love to do this as well!
Your idea of a con meetup being more of a volunteer gathering is great and I'd love to see that come to fruition, especially if a company helps back the idea! And also going on tours to different cities for the same thing would be fantastic.

I feel like every other day, a TH-camr or streamer that I follow comes up with an idea for something like this, or simply runs a charity stream or something similar, and every single time I feel bad that I haven't any money to help.
But it's a bit calming to know I'm one in 9 million, in this case.

Markiplier i truly believe in my heart and soul that one day we will see are world were everyone understands one another, were kids won't have to grow up in a world ruined by fear and hatred. a place were people won't ever have to go hungry or worry about things like war and murder. every day not matter where i am i try my best to make complete strangers smile by either saying something funny or just generally being a nice person, like opening doors for people or helping them in some small way. i love this video because it speaks to my heart in that you are generally and genuinely kind hearted. the only way that we get to achieve that kind of goal is together, hand in hand. what drew me to your channel was how your videos always seem to make my day, whenever im bummed out or feeling low i watch one of your videos and boom instantly happy. and its soo cool that you spread that love and caring attitude with every video you make. thank you mark. thank you for being a good person in such a cruel world. i hope that the legacy you pass down to all of us lives on forever and helps shape this world for the better, and i think that it is an excellent idea! maybe what you could do is get a hold of whoever in a town or city that can give you a permit or help you set up a place for everyone to gather then from there get a list of all the soup kitchens, clothing banks and homeless shelters in that town or city and have everyone split into groups and head to each one and give something that they no longer need or buy things for people who need them. food nd cloths for the homeless toys for kids of the same. i with you man!! lets start changing the world
One of the reasons I started watching Mark is because he and I have the same outlook on life. I'm already an activist, a volunteer and run a non - profit gaming network that I will be using to raise awareness and money for charity. One thing I will say is that awareness is crucial as the are a lot of awful things in the world that some will never have even heard of. For example; I have a disability known as 'Erb's Palsy'. I cannot use my left arm and it seems to get worse with age - but because it is rare, there is no help or research put into it. My future is therefore uncertain. This could bring me down but instead it motivates me to help others and do whatever I can to make a difference. By sharing knowledge about everything we want to see changed is sharing an opportunity to change it. I hope this makes sense :)

This is a good idea, Mark. This is a really good idea. I can honestly say that I love how you put everything you wanted to say in the video. Society is slowly changing each and everyday wether it's for the better or for the worse. However, it definitely needs to change for the better or continue to change for the better. Things have happened and personally, I think that those things helped the world change for the better. Although, some other people may disagree. The community that revolves around your channel is capable of doing so many amazing things. We all well know that. I think having a tour type of deal where everyone helps to clean up a city or whatever is an awesome idea. And I truly believe that that could start a movement. Thanks for making this vlog, Mark!

This world we have is a crazy place. Not because it is but because what humans do to it. We all have dreams and ideas and the ones with the will to see it through will do what ever they can to see it become reality. Mark, your idea is great and lots of ideas are great for human kind. This world we live in is were we started it and what humans did to it and what we do to each other is awful if you look on that side of things. There is hope and your one of the people who have hope. We all can do better but its a very very hard thing to do almost impossible almost it the word. there is a chance. I have a dream not for this world but for humans. I want to be able to leave this world and find a new home travel in deep space and start again on a new planet. This is only my idea and there are far more then mine. Those who want to change the world and change life will try for good reasons or for bad. You are one person who has a great idea and anyone who can see it through and can make a difference in anyway possible will change. Even if its just a little they can change.

My idea would be that you could make one day out of every week a "Change the World" day and challenge your fans to go out and make a difference, and do something good and then take a picture of it and send it to you/a hashtag on Twitter, and every Change the World day you pick one picture and you put it in a public scrapbook for people to see. At he end of the year you could make a video of every picture in the book for youtube :)

This idea kinda reminds me of Gishwhes (Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen)! It's like this big goofy week long scavenger hunt were you do silly and good deeds, take pictures or video and send them in for points to win the competition. All of the proceeds from the hunt go to the nonprofit organization RandomActs which helps fund new ways to help people. I think it would be awesome to kinda play off of that idea. :)
Take that idea of a special day of changing the world and if you are in the US of A we can take it to the White House and spread it to the rest of the world to change it.

This Video has really touched me. There is allot of things in this that just Connects the Strings and ties the knots. There is allot of people out there suffering from Things that have happened in there lives. Friends Coming and going, Loved ones fading, There is allot of corruption and chaos happening that Hurt allot of people. As i have noticed there is allot more people suffering from Depression and Other mental Illness's. That Stops some people from continuing. I myself have Anxiety, Depression and (symptoms of Schizo) It's Horrible living with it. Always Being blocked by that Wall that is there, The voices, The things i see. This, This message that you have sent out mark Right now has Mostly just put me into Tears I myself Is trying to Become Similar to you. Change for the better. I only want to Start to do youtube to become a person that can Help. Help people. My 2 brothers have problems of there own. My Older brother suffers from Crohns disease and my little Brother is disabled with several palsy. I've always looked at myself and Though "what could i do to help them and do what i do best." As for the idea, I think it's absolutely brilliant. I live in one of the tiniest towns in Ohio, but I would try to help in any way I could. I probably couldn't drive very far, but goddamn it I'd try. If we could do this we could spread so much happiness. It would be amazing.

The internet is obsessed with "Challenges" Do the #MarkiplierChallenge Where Markiplier Fans in every town Makes a Vlog talking about what they did to improve the community every weekend say Friday or what have you, and have it as a montage of members of the community doing their part. They can do whatever they want with the videos but every friday; after so long there will be so much footage of how everyone is helping, that it can be appreciated and everyone involved being credited can take pride in the fact that this is sweeping the nation and bettering our world. Imagine if every Friday the Markiplier fans in every town commited to this personally imagine how much we could accomplish.
