    This was so interesting, the way Marth went into action to help one of the baby’s stuck upside down on the branch! She just stepped in and caught him or her upside down and put her paw right underneath to catch um! Amazing. See how well you all have raised these mums😉be proud,well done thanks again💕

    I'd have to say, watching them suck on their little fingers, like Pascal was, is the cutest thing ever! Thank you for showing Floki. I could sit here and watch him interacting with the babies all day. He just melts my heart so much!! And I'm so happy that Toni and Pascal are doing much better. I think it's good they came in around the same time and have each other for comfort and support 💙💙💙

    So glad I stumbled upon your channel. You don't dress them up and make them walk upright. I can't believe what humans do to the poor little souls and the other channels from south
    Asia seem cruel the way they just film until the babies die. Then they give them a lovely burial.

    Amazing video! Love seeing Jethro ready for his next round of big brother/surrogate dad season....he truly is awesome 🤩 and one of a kind!! Seeing him waiting and checking out the babies and kinda sitting there like he was introducing himself was sweet! These animals are amazing to watch ...even the moms every season I love how the troop can’t wait to welcome the babies to the troop and I love how the Bandits are even excited to see the new babies they even come over to see them. The whole town and families and the way the monkeys run their troops amazes me...I am I awe every time I watch a video! Question: do all foster moms parent the same way? Do moms tolerate different levels of clinging ?

    • @maxwellmattison6224
      @maxwellmattison6224 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      ...yeah right, some look to be somewhat more tolerant. Like when the baby was clinging and one bit his arm and pushed him away, but the other Mom came to the rescue! Great questions!!! What's the answer...people? M->

    • @VervetMonkey

      As with humans each mom is diffrent and cares for them in her own special way

    • @carolynmcpherson2667
      @carolynmcpherson2667 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have watched and watched this videos, and--as Dave says below--every mother is different. Some sit and pretend they're not watching the babies. Others stroll by and--each time they stroll--they're a little bit closer. One mom's technique is to grab the baby; I've seen this work a few times, but only with the most bumptious babies. And one alpha, Acorn, SAT on a baby! Mostly, though, somehow the mother falls in love with a certain baby, and a certain baby falls with a mother. It's just like humans adopting children, and a beautiful thing to behold.

    Pascal seems to have many signs that he may have been born premature. Of course, you have no way to know as you don't have history of him before he was picked up but there are usually certain facial signs, the setting of the eye, the immature development of his nasal arch, and head shape that lead you to believe a baby may not have been carried by a mother to its full gestation. Of course that he made it to you only shows how good the mom did while she had him to bring him through a preemie birth and the extremely delicate 72 hours that means whether a preemie will survive or not but that could also explain some of the issues you had in dealing with his health as certain things would still not work as well as a baby born at the same time but full term. Preemie primates often will have on going GI issues even once they past what would have been their full term gestation date as the GI tract does not mature as fast once a baby is born that it it was still in utero and then born with a GI tract mature to the age of a full term infant. A preemie is also going to suffer any trauma a great deal worse, especially losing a mother as it suffered its first trauma with a premature birth and its only salvation was its mother and it knowingly is more dependant on its mother than a full term infant would be. A primate born even a week early will not hit any milestones in a week that a full term infant world as it has to develop to that gestational age outside its mother with just hanging on and nursing. For every week an prinate is borne before its due date it will be double that behind any infant that was borne at the same time full term.
    Regarding Floki and his need for more physical rehab and a good ability to climb before he can go out in a troop, is this liable to make him a bit to old to actually be fostered when released to a troop? What are the plans to be if he is unable to master climbing in time to go out into a troop while its still 'foster baby season' for the troop? I assume the troops have become accustomed to times of the year that fosters babies show up and are introduced and integrated and may not be as receptive to taking on an older juvenile at a time they usually don't get new additions?
    I know you have wild troops that hang about and usually are not sterilized, and even a fence cannot stop all attempts at breeding. Have you had many natural births this year in the sanctuary troops? And when you have a few natural born babies does this tend to affect whether a troop will be as welcoming to orphans if they have had a natural born baby or two?

    • @VervetMonkey
      @VervetMonkey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Floki came in already to old for a foster mom so he would havea adult intergration, normally if a troop has its own babies we wont use it for the foster mom program that year
