Love the Hoka Cielo X1 🎉.. Excellent result always. Mach X2 is also amazing but matrix not as good as Cielo X1.. However Skyward X is always faster than planned 🎉
I admire those of you who volunteer to be a pacer. Always have wondered about being a pacer. What if something happens where you can't keep the pace? Qutie the commitment. And always love seeing Khan - what a great dog.
@@JoeFleegel Khan is the best of us! Re: pacing if something happens, most races will have multiple pacers for each group so there’s redundancy if something happens. With the quicker paces, often people will sub in/out at the halfway point. Some will run the whole way. I started with another pacer named Paul, and he ran the first half (including the half marathoners all the way to the finish line. Young Thomas joined us at mile 12, so there was some crossover, and he took over Paul’s spot for the second half. I’ve been in those situations where my pacing partner could not continue for whatever reason, but at least one of us could stay with the group and be a roving landmark.
@@thecaptainchas2820 Very interesting to know that information about the pacers. Didn't know Thomas was also a pacer. Just thought he was running that pace and held the flag for you for a bit so you could take a quick gel or something. On the Cielo X1, has always sounded like a fun shoe. As an older heel striking runner whose marathon time is around 4:30, could that shoe possibly work for me?
@ absolutely. It’s one of the marathon shoes that actually feels just as fun and responsive at easy paces as it does at faster paces. That’s why I said I’ll be using it for a lot of long training runs.
Great job Captain👏👏👏… It wasn't too annoying to hold the flag in your hand? … for the edge Paris … I ran my last 20k in them but I don’t know why but I’m not sure that I’d like to run a marathon in them 🤨… after the 20k I had pain in my ankles during couple of days after🤔… still training for Paris and try to get that sub2h55… c u 🤗🇫🇷
@@McLeod573 Thanks! The flag wasn’t too much of a burden, but that’s why I wore the camera on my head. 🤣 Yeah, the Edge Paris for me personally would be a little too aggressive for a full marathon, but definitely good for a half. I know some people who run in the Sky Paris are a little more willing to try it for a Full, but they still feel beat up after it.
@@i.p2088 that’s how I feel about the Edge Paris. The Endorphin Elite to me is good right up to the marathon distance, as long as it’s a targeted fast marathon.
I ran the CieloX 1 for my leg of the relay. Avg. 7:12s.

Do you have the same sizes in all three shoes? Skyward X/Mach x2/hoka cielo x1?

Endorphin Elite is excellent for half but to aggressive for a slow runner for anything longer ❤.
