I own most of those shoes minus the Sacony and ON. For some reason, I don’t do well with bouncy shoes. Especially the Puma. When looking at what I want to run in, I always grab the Edge Paris. And at 183 grams for my size 9.5 US, they can’t be beat.

@@MidLifeRunner 👊
I have the Neo Vista but I find myself consistently passing it over for the Superblast (v1). I feel like the Superblast runs smaller than it is and the firmness makes me feel connected to the ground. It took me awhile to warm up to that shoe though. You seem close to my size and the Glycerin Max looks like such a beast for lighter runners. I've heard it's very comfortable though. Thanks for the comparison.

How does the adios 9 compare in energy return to the topo cyclone?
@@noscop444 I would say the Topo Cyclone has a lot more noticeable energy return. They are both super light, but the Adios 9 almost makes the Cyclone 2 feel built up. That said, the Adios 9 feels lighter, more streamlined, and nimble.
@thecaptainchas2820 Interesting. This makes me believe that adidas would just add a bit more stack then the foam would be alot more noticeable. Altough I think it's already good as is since it's not that stable
You run so techniquement ❤❤❤
On design/aesthetics/colorways and attention to detail give off a premium vibe, while functionality as running shoes lag the competition. DV8 3, Speed 4, Mach X2, Boston 12, Zoom Fly 6 all better speed trainers and 20% cheaper. That said, On is crushing it from a profitability standpoint - premium Swiss design, low Vietnam production cost, and imagine, OG CloudMonster still commands MSRP after three years on the market. Astonishing really. PS - great review, appreciate honest, straightforward and detailed approach.

Hi there, I own the Hoka Rocket X2 and I believe you have ran in this shoe before as well. How does the Elite 4 PB compare to the Rocket X2 in terms of: 1. General fit (forefoot and heel area) 2. Midsole- Underfoot feel during runs Thanks!
@@everydaylifefilms hey! Yeah, I almost included the RX2 in the shoe-off for this one. The Rocket X 2 has a bit more of a secure lockdown right out of the box. I did not need to use the extra lace eyelet with the RX2 and felt no movement or abrasion anywhere. But the RX2 has a narrower-or more tapered-forefoot. The Brooks is slightly more accommodating on the forefoot and the upper material so extremely airy and porous. Having run in it with cold weather a few times, my feet have a hard time staying warm in the HE4PB unless I’m really cranking. That might be an advantage in warm weather races, but the Hoka stops the wind a little better. As far as midsole, I think the Brooks HE4PB has a little more of a lively ride, but the Hoka RX2 is among the more smooth rides. Both are lively and both are smooth, but that’s how they are compared to one another. Maybe I would put the RX2 somewhere on the responsiveness spectrum between the HE4PB and the CloudBoom Strike as I was mentioning in the Shoe Talk. It’s worth noting that the Rocket X 2 is about 10% (20g or 0.7oz) heavier than the HE4PB in my size, but I doubt that’s something I would even think about unless I had one of each shoe on each foot.
Thanks mate appreciate the prompt and detailed reply!!! Really tempting to try out the Elite PBs!
The adios pro 4 is still king for how many trophies it wins
Any thoughts on which of these would be best for Hyrox? Last race I used the Hyperion 2. So I’m thinking of trying the pbs
@@Chiknuggs I wouldn’t even know where to begin to recommend a shoe for Hyrox!
How would you compare it with the Saucony endorphin Pro3 ?
@@mike89box I think it’s snappier and maybe a tad bouncier than the EP3. I would choose the HE4PB over the EP3 for most-maybe all-use cases.
@ I really appreciate your honesty. Thanks for uploading content like this it’s amazing ! 🙏
@ thanks for watching!
Heck of a training block. Sorry things didn’t turn out the way you had planned but glad you still made the best of it. Enjoyed following along and excited to see what you do next!
@@raymondstadiem8157 thanks Ray! More to come soon! There’s a little race up in Massachusetts I’ll be doing…
hey @thecaptainchas if you were given a chance to run a marathon tomorrow, what shoes would you use among these 3? adios pro 3, adios pro 4 or deviate nitro elite 3
@@valsoriano4675 when you say endorphin elite 3, are you referring to the endorphin Pro 3? The Elite 2 hasn’t been released yet (save for a very select few). Assuming you mean the E-Pro, I would probably go with the Adios Pro 4. Although the E-Pro3 would be a close second.
@@thecaptainchas2820 my apology. Should be 'puma deviate nitro elite 3'
@@valsoriano4675hmm…okay. So it would be a rough choice between the Adios Pro 4 or the Deviate Nitro Elite 3. Maybe I’d go with the Puma if there were a lot of turns on the course or if the tarmac was wet. If the course had fewer turns and a flatter profile, I’d say the Adios Pro 4.
Another good comparison 💯
Thanks! This one was fun!
Debating on the 4PB or the Deviate Elite 3 as my race shoe this year. How do they compare as far as width?
@@OtenCaliFoShizle1926 I think the HE4PB has a little more forefoot width, but I don’t have issues in either one. Both would be good options as far as race day performance.
PEBA v A-TPU v TPEE. Which one will come out on top in the long term? Great comparison video. Brooks have come to the PEBA party. Which foam do you think most big brands go with?
@@gilbertblythe1011 that’s the big question and only time will tell. Most brands are sticking with PEBA, and it’s been reliable since Nike introduced ZoomX in the Vaporfly 4%. TPEE has durability on its side, and the latest iteration of Lightstrike Pro proves it can be as bouncy as PEBA. Early reviews of the IncrediRun midsole in the upcoming Saucony shoes show some dynamic promise for TPEE as well. But I like Puma’s approach with the A-TPU. It may come down to who owns what patents rather than which foam is best. I bet they all have very tunable properties.
@@thecaptainchas2820 A Beta vs VHS war in the superfoam space. VHS won the video tape war battle back in the day yet was apparently not the best format of its day. This is going to be interesting. Thanks for the feedback! 👍 I agree with you regarding Puma. The DNE3 is an amazing shoe.
Thanks for the video. I look forward to more on this.
@@Leporkchop34 much appreciated! I hope to have more content soon.

@@ricHCarboCarbea thanks for watching!

@@justjared82 it was smart for them to pull the trigger on this release before making people wait for the HE5. In fact, I think it will hype up the HE5 more.
Great review, I am surprised you didn't have the Vaporfly V3.. 😮. Looks like a compatible shoe?
@@i.p2088 I do have the Vaporfly 3. As I explained, I left it out of the shoe-off because the Vaporfly 3 is actually a less exciting shoe than the others. It may be a little lighter than the Brooks (not by much), but the Brooks is better in every way.
Really want to get the shoe but I don't see it in Europe 😂
@@i.p2088 it hasn’t technically been released in the US yet either. They just had some pairs available for early sale at the expo in Houston.

Thoughts on 5k to 10k racer between the Adios 9 and Takumi Sen 10?
@@ryanwiesman9921 are you looking for something with a plate (or rods) or without?
@ not certain. Do you feel the rods actually help in the short/mid distance races?
@ I feel like rods or plates help in any distance when paired with a super foam. That’s why even the top end track spikes for MD and LD events have those carbon features. Not everyone wants to train in those shoes all the time though, which makes sense. If you want a 5k/10k racer that I think will outperform both the Adios 9 and the Takumi San 10, I bet the StreakFly 2 will do that when it releases in March. It will be plated and stripped down and quite different from the StreakFly 1. To that end, the original StreakFly and the adios 9 will serve better as training tools. However, for those distances, as far as shoes that are available right now, I race in the ASICS Metaspeed Edge Paris. Even though it’s designed for races up to the marathon, it’s a super fast shoe for me for 5k-15k. I’ll talk about that more in a review/shoe-off I have coming out on Sunday for a different shoe. Stay tuned!
Good shoe off. Hard for me to justify getting the Adios 9 when I already have too many lower stacked shoes like the Brooks Hyperion Tempo, Adidas Adios 4, Asics Tartheredge and Saucony Sinister amongst others sitting on the shoe shelf hardly getting any wear. Best of luck with your 5K training.
@@premiumpop8477 yeah, you pretty much have the racing flat sector cornered already!
I still run in Nike Flyknit racers circa 2012..how would these compare ? Thanks for the review..AWESOME JOB!!!!!!!!!!
@@veliborvasovicofajax5358 man, that’s a blast from the past. I never ran in the Flyknit Racer so I can’t answer that. I was in the Adios and the Brooks Green Silence for longer races, and then stripped down flats like the Wave Ekiden for shorter stuff. The Adios 9 feels a lot more dynamic, but still has a ton of ground feel.
