They also control where the huge hit goes and can manage that large chunk of profit in terms of where the card is then sold to in the marketplace/which auction house puts it up for bid. Basically, recycling the huge hits in the product, i.e., give Backyard Breaks said hit, it gets sold by them at maybe Goldin, they profit off of it (probably give a percent to Backyard), people talk about them again and get more views/clicks: wash, rinse, repeat.
The producing companies should have absolutely zero say in where boxes of their products go. It’s absolutely asinine that the government doesn’t go after these companies for essentially practicing fraud
There's no shame in the hobby anymore, and companies like Panini refuse to do anything for average customers. I sent 3 15 year old redemptions to upper deck and they sent back 3 autograph cards, at least upper deck stands behind their brand. It's hard to trust and or support Panini and Fanatics, since Panini are the Kings of screwing collectors out of cards, they feed breakers that follow the same business model. Great video.
15 years old... Upper Deck. This was the same Upper Deck that was essentially kicked out of the hobby around then for being the worst ever. Having product hits like 2008 Exquisite Tiger Woods RPAs that weren't even put into packs... every person buying 08 trying to pull that card and it wasn't even in it. There was an exhaustive list of similar things. UD was way worse than anything going on right now.
I think it's quite obvious at this point that BYB is getting loaded boxes from companies. What I'd like to know is if there are any legal ramifications to Panini and Fanatics/Topps for supplying specific "Holy Grail" cards to them for their breaks, as it seems as if that is the case, they would be negating odds of pulling certain cards unless those cards are excluded from the odds supplied to their customers. Now, I'm not a lawyer by any means, but this seems to potentially be rife for class action lawsuits if it's true, and I think it would be a great story to know if such a lawsuit would have merit. So far, I think that both companies have been shielded by the fact that the vast majority of people who buy their cards are unaware of this sort of thing going on and that they have just as good of a chance as anyone else, but it seems to be no different than the McDonald's Monopoly scam that happened years ago either, and could not only be open for civil lawsuits, but criminal as well since it's fraud in the simplest sense. I'd love to see your thoughts on this, along with finding out if these companies are opening themselves up to investigation and liability, from a legal perspective. Keep up the great work!
At least the McDonald’s situation was just about add on items to the actual food offering. In Topps case the odds/checklist are the main product you’re paying for and it’s a little more expensive than a happy meal. This seems much more egregious.
I’d definitely think there are civil and criminal cases that could pop up if anyone ever had evidence. In my opinion what panini does with redemption cards is criminal. They just make people wait until they decide to trade them in for some junk and then panini gets a high dollar one of one of a top star or rookie. It’s ridiculous.

I just want to say that I once bet $900 on a 19-20 encased, 3-way box war, and won it somehow. I got a Tremont Waters RPA, a KZ Okpala RPA, and a Cody Martin RPA. You guys have saved me from these types of purchases from hypeboy group breakers so I thank you for that sports card radio ❤
One thing all breakers should be doing since its technically gambling.. is to be transparent and post winners of all big hits over say a certain amount. If the cards is worth more then x amount or the main chase cards ppl are going after it should be posted who is winning the user name and maybe first name last name so we know there isn't any hanky panky.. then u start being able to see if certain ppl are winning the main hits more then others..even if they are whales you can still work out the %s

This is a non bias question. IF product is rigged. IF Topps is sending backyard breaks loaded boxes. Does it make more sense for Topps to send them the babe Ruth 1/1 or does it make more sense for Topps to not send them it on purpose so people keep chasing it and buy more triple threads? You can argue it would make more sense to withhold it so people buy up triple threads and chase it or you can argue Topps sent it on purpose so their relationship with backyard breaks which is good for Topps since they sell so much. Thoughts?
