    In a world where most people cut corners and take the easy way, it is great to see a man do a job the right way. Much respect and salute to you good sir. Thank you for all the great videos you make.

    Awesome! Really liked the end where you talk about the high idle condition that would’ve scared me if I hadn’t known about it

    Hey there,
    Just wanted to give you a HUGE thank you, I had a water leak coming from the throttle body on my car and after searching so many videos i was about to give up but thought I'd give your video go. Not only did you help me remove my throttle body but it turned out my throttle body was damaged.
    So after getting it repaired and cleaning it up it works perfectly now, and there's no more leaks, I also enjoyed your explanation as to why you prefer to remove the throttle body when cleaning it as that question did pop up in my mind while watching your video.
    So all and all ... THANK YOU ❤

    Absolutely see the benefits of removing it before cleaning. I cleaned mine last time without removing it. Definitely going to remove the throttle body next time when I go to clean it again. Thank you for the great video!

      Did you remove the throttle body like in the video? If so did you happen to have the 2 coolant hoses on your throttle body?
      Thanks

    Great video, thanks for posting. Where is the dipstick tube when you do this? Mine is blocking me so I can’t get the throttle body out or access to unclip the 2 coolant lines.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you have the dipstick because your car is automatic transmision, the car on the video must be standard.

    Love your site. Own 4 Toyota's & do most of the maintenance & repair on all my vehicle's. Just took the throttle body on my 2010 Scion XB with 2.4 L engine all the way off and cleaned it just like you show. When I'm putting it back on the small hose at the bottom of the throttle body below the electrical plug has no clamp. Do all the hose have clamps and it fell off when I pulled the throttle body off. Should of payed more attention. Thanks.

      Same here - my Echo has a transmission dipstick in the way of the third screw.pretty hard to get a wrench in there without having to remove the ATF dipstick. Looks like the model that Peter was working on didnt have that, or he moved/removed it before starting the video.

    Thank you. There is not too much out there for the Echo, but as an owner I appreciate help oriented towards the echo. I recall that another Toyota shares an almost exact replica, or similar engine, but I don't remember which. Corolla? Yaris? If anyone knows, then share. I tried finding another ~1.5 L engine but could not find much.

    think I'll just leave mine in place and use old toothbrush or similar to clean while holding open throttle plate so I dont risk something breaking during removal due to age / heat. Even a rag wrapped on a stick could do nicely in there also or anything similar. Bit of inginuity to avoid possible bigger problems.

    I just did this today. took me the better half of 2 hours. I had to remove the air box assembly and battery to reach coolant lines. My impatience made me forget to crimp the coolant lines. Coolant everywhere. Place tubes facing upwards and crimp to avoid that. Now i have to add more coolant and bleed air out of system. But i took off both sensors and cleaned everything with crc throttle cleaner.

    Amazing video. I have a question, Do you need to add coolant and bleed the system? (I thought you lost some coolant there and air is introduced to the system)

    • @ToyotaMaintenance
      @ToyotaMaintenance  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      no need, lost few drops, no problem

    • @ulaserdogan623

      I just did the job. It went quite smooth. I did notice a problem though. I had to remove the airbox and found that the bottom of it was ripped.
      I duck-taped the crack nicely, and placed the box back. Would it cause any problem in the future? The box image is at the link below.

    there is not gasket on Toyota throttle body??

    • @tatabutterbubu1928

      wondered same thing, couldn't quite make it out. Wouldn't want to risk creating vacuum leak or other problems.

    • @tteuvky

      TaTa Butter Bubu don’t worry go ahead, there is gasket it is like plastic rubber which doesn’t glue with anything.
      I have open throttle body and there is no issue .

      Rough, uneven idle. IAC valve code

  • @nenelindopalmundo
    @nenelindopalmundo ปีที่แล้ว

    Echo idle rpm is 700 +-50 If it not running stable after the warm up it also can be a problem in the throttle... the iac is in there.... you should tell the people about that and that is also a problem....

  • @jregamey
