We really appreciated your feedback and hope you'll check out future iterations of Kristala! We were stoked to see you had so much fun with the Earthquake spell. Def a personal favorite of ours as well 😆
We're working on AI improvements including perception, patrols, and ways to deal with the player climbing on roof-tops. We also have a ton of unique stuff in store like our feline skill tree where you can acquire abilities like enhanced night-vision as well as additional stealth and traversal skills. On top of that, we are adding a full cat customizer so you can decide to play as any cat your heart desires, collectible familiars that will assist you on your journey, giant canine steeds you'll be able to ride around on during exploration, and six diff clans to choose from that determine your magic abilities with the ability to make hybrid builds in NG+.
Was really awesome watching you play and we're honored to be amongst such good company in this video. Really digging Crowsworn's art style!

To combat the stealth issue, maybe implement a skill tree based on stealth giving you the option to unlock stealth attacks on different enemy types, and as standard having no backstab? Would make the game start off with a lot more movement and make you use the other skills in combat. Would also allow you playthroughs with no backstabs as a harder run etc! Looks good so far though!

I accidentally spoiled the main reveal of the story while looking up a hint to a secret I had already found. That really upset me but it was my own damn fault. once you get a high-level weapon destroying an entire town is a lot of fun. I enjoyed the 2 DLC, my only complaint is that throughout the entire game, you see these flowers and can't interact with them until you do one of the DLCs (I did that one last on accident). still not a good mechanic imo. If the intention is to not let you bruteforce chests while ignoring enemies then there are better options than to force you to do a qte everytime, especially when there aren't even any enemies around.
Enable enemies to stun you to out of the animation, lock chests behind a "enemy kill counter". Make the player unable to interact with chests if there are enemies around. Now it's just going to be annoying you have to perform that QTE everytime, especially on subsequent playthroughs or speedruns.

    • @Milktube
      @Milktube ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@brent8407 > Let enemies stun you out of the animation.
They can already attack you during the animation, if there are too many around then killing you effectively stops the animation.
      >Lock chests behind an enemy kill counter
Unbelievably lame. One of the worst ways to implement a system to prevent players from cheesing early treasures by not interacting with the game's systems.
      >Make the player unable to interact with chests if there are enemies around.
They can already attack you if they are around, if there are too many around then killing you effectively stops you from interacting with the chest.
I was going to say that a good solution would be to not have the timing check on chests when there are no enemies nearby, but that would leave players unprepared for the check when they DO encounter enemies. My modified solution would be a 'hack' method/combination that will instantly open the chest when the player inputs it as a knowledge unlock, but players aren't given this information until extremely late into the game. This way any replays or challenge runs can avoid the delay of the QTE, but new players won't be able to cheese the game unless they are looking up info online, in which case they are already committed to cheesing themselves.

I'm so glad you made the comment about Dysmantle "looking" like a fake game. As soon as you launched it and I saw your character, I thought, "I've seen this mobile game ad before." I think it has the potential to be huge if they changed something about the art direction, maybe even just a lighting pass or filter. Maybe I'm just old though, this probably appeals super hard to a generation that grew up playing Fortnite and not, say, Diablo 1.
That being said, the boring gameplay loop could be indicative of the devs' inexperience and this was actually an amazing first try. Or, more ominously, this is a game that was created by devs who've only played modern, grindy dopamine-generators (free-to-play gacha games vs Mario)

Does it even matter? Hollow Knight is a fantastic game. The Crowsworn devs are clearly putting in loads of effort and care towards creating a beautiful and quality game. Compare it to something like Gleamlight. Clearly inspired by Hollow Knight to the same degree. Completely garbage game. Close to zero side paths. Straight up linear. Mediocre combat. Just not a fun game. Crowsworn looks great.

Imagine you spent years making your dream game. The tragedy of it being you can never play it for the first time because you know it too well. If I was a member of Team Cherry I'd be absolutely exstatic to have the opportunity to play Crowsworn.

It literally looks like a trace. It's a shame, because Crowsworn could easily have stood on its own without tracing the enemy attacks and painting over the areas. The art itself is so gorgeous and then the game starts moving, bam literally just Hollow Knight.

35:30 Just an fyi, the Crowsworn devs posted in a Kickstarter update that the money loss on death was just a placeholder for the demo and they have something better planned that doesn't include money loss or backtracking to your place of death.
