That 9 Days game has a hidden Super Saiyan form you can get if you absorb the Blue Sun in the Black Hole. It makes you able to absolutely fucking demolish the home planet and once you beat the game you can go to the other Earth-like planet. It has a lot of potential but definitely needed more time cooking and the dev is actually working on it.
That 9 days game looked pretty interesting, obviously not in a 'gameplay' sense but the ideas that the game tried to include as 'features' was pretty good. Can't say I know of many games where you start out in a dungeon crawler type game and end up being able to fly through space and blow up planets in game. I'm gonna guess Barbotine is about social anxiety and self worth? The MC becomes more and more deformed-- how they feel about themselves, ugly and disgusting, while the enemies are made of flowers and marble-- things people consider beautiful. Every time they look into the mirror they feel even worse about themselves which leads to them digging. I feel like it could be the MC's ties to other people being broken and letting their negative feelings take over; digging themselves deeper into a a metaphorical hole of misery. Alternatively you could also see it with a more positive ending-- that them breaking the flower-marble people and the mirror is them giving up society's expectations of beauty and they're breaking the cycle of self-hatred. idk though lol
for the first game, i like how they somewhat accurately got the float point jitter down on the PS1 style graphics. They just needed to add it to everything instead of just the models.
@@robertschnobert9090it's what made ps1 games all wobbly lol you can get the effect if you get far enough out of bounds even in most modern games, as going further away from the starting point of a level makes the floating point values less accurate

Barbotine having that reflection attempt is better than most triple A titles who don't attempt a reflection at all. It was actually a pretty nice animation used at a reflection
Older games actually did reflections by literally mirroring the entire room, putting it behind the mirror, and spawning in a clone of the player with reversed inputs. Modern AAA titles can't even be bothered to put in any effort.
Barbotine looks like the most competently made game on the channel. I by far prefer old-school graphics to the off-looking mishmash of asset packs most of the games use.
