Upgraded from a Series 4 to a Series 9. I am very happy with this massive upgrade. Considered the Ultra but like the slimmer look of the 9. I think it works better for my business casual needs.

Same here. I upgraded from the 4 to the 9 and I am pleased so far. Wanted the Ultra as well, but I’m not going to pretend that I live an active lifestyle those are probably better suited for. My only concern is if the Series 10 is going to be a major game changer, I might regret it then lol

I was going to upgrade from the series 5 to the series 9 stainless. But after seeing the price difference from the stainless to the Ultra, it was a no brainer to get the ultra instead.
I’m buying an ultra ll, passed on the first iteration simply because they DOUBLED memory to 64gb. Why reviewers don’t mention this, I don’t know. I’ll use it for books, music and podcasts

A 64GB Apple Watch Ultra 2 is literally an iPod on your wrist. LITERALLY…!!! Paired with AirPod Pro’s, that’s an incredible combination I have regularly enjoyed with my ageing (but still fully functional) AW Series 4 (16GB) and my AirPod Pro’s. My original iPod Video (2005) still works flawlessly - spinning hard drive and all. I’ve ordered my Ultra II - I pick it up tomorrow! 😊
@@datathunderstorm I disagree, you cannot play music back on the watch itself… but you can with any bluetooth speaker/headphone.
I have iPod Touch 4th Gen and it still functions like the day i got it.
I'm a huge believer in "Check before you buy", and am lucky to live within 15 minutes of an Apple Store so, when I was looking to get my first Apple Watch last year, I went in and tried all the models, sizes and colours.
I'd originally been drawn to a darker colour, but wasn't sure of size.
I ended up getting a Nike Series 7 41 in Starlight - didn't need the 8's extra features, but wanted more than what the SE2 had to offer (the Ultra was just too big/expensive). Have to say, I absolutely love it.

Only downside with the current one i see is there was no battery capacity improvement this year.. Feels almost same as Ultra1 .

I own a Apple Watch 6 at this time. I do not plan on moving to a new Apple Watch until new health tracking features are part of a new model.
The model I would be moving to is the Ultra with the sapphire crystal watch face. I have owned a high end precision watch in the past with sapphire crystal watch face that cost as much as the Ultra. The only thing it did was tell time.
Because I had screen gashes issue with my previous Apple Watch with my Apple Watch 6 I use the Smiling Case Compatible with Apple Watch Series 6/SE/Series 5/Series 4 44mm with Built in Tempered Glass Screen Protector,Overall Protective Hard PC Case Ultra-Thin Cover- Clear.
Now because of scratching mark issues to the face of the case, I recently replaced it with a new one for less than ten dollars. A new Apple replace watch face would have cost me much more. This is why unless any new Apple Watch does not have a sapphire crystal face I will put a Tempered Glass Screen Protector.
If you’re active at all the ultra is well worth it, I do dirty rough stuff outside active all year round even ocean swimming, No case & ultra still looks new 8-9months later, battery lasts about day & half to 2 days even being used a lot, new ultra watch face is best for at glance information on screen and nutrition logging, only issue band sticks after ocean swimming so have clean in warm water 10-15min pushing band mechanism buttons to clean out salt sand grit then everything good again, louder speaker nice, price is costly but not much different than stainless watch 9 with cellular but ultra gives so much more, 👍👍video

Your opinion is completely unbiased, you’ve compared both watches with your personal experience and knowledge and I can tell you I’ve picked up some unique qualities that both watches possesses. For me personally the series 9 would make a great fit for my daily lifestyle, it’s sleek, compact, and small enough to fit my wrist without the corners overpowering my wrist. In comparison with the ultra 2, I wish Apple would include the seconds on the modular face for the other Apple Watch series as that would be an awesome feature in my opinion. I totally believe you however with the battery life, and I think in the future Apple would take notes with the Ultra 2 and improve the performance of potential Apple Watches in the future (battery life, a faster refresh rate etc). Love this comparison!

Started going to the gym and being more active, have the watch but I feel like I’m not using the watch correctly.
You should direct the fall detection to older people.. They are more likely to use that than younger people. They also need the cyber connection as they are more likely to not have an Apple phone or the phone not in range. A major fall for an older person is not just a fall but may be life threatening ... The big feature is no need to push a button as the call response is automatic ..
Is the display size of the ultra the same of the 45mm? (I mean, not the resolution, but the visible display)

The battery on my 6 wasn't lasting me a whole day anymore so I upgraded to the Ultra 2. I planned on getting the 9 but once I added cellular it was already getting close to the Ultra and I wanted a bigger battery. Since I got the Ultra though I've been blown away! Yes the battery is amazing but I love display and it definitely seems more accurate. The size is actually a plus for me as prior to getting an Apple watch a few years ago I always wore larger diving type watches and thus the Ultra feels better on my wrist. Great review, very good points! Also, even though my battery wasn't top anymore I got a decent trade in for my 6 from Apple which helped to bring the price down and made the decision quite a bit easier.
The ultra is a man sized watch for man sized wrist. It’s one of those things that can’t be faked.
I had a simple Xiaomi band and wanted to upgrade so I could answer msgs or calls if needed, and I got an SE 2, as I didn’t think I’d need the fancier features. Battery life is pretty good for my needs, I can get by rising my wrist to wake, so I don’t really need AOD, and my wife has an Ultra and it feels a bit too big for my wrist. All in all, I feel the SE is the subdued choice, nothing fancy but really solid, not to mention cheaper!

I had the s5 nike edition and gifted my daughter an se fir christmas but after a while she asked me if i could swap her watches lol so i did the s5 did hold up pretty good for years so now i want to gift my dad the se he doesnt like big watches so im hear debating if i should get the ultra 2 or s9 for me!! Why is it that the garmin fenix 7 watch can last 14 days and the Apple Watch only last 36 hours?
I went from the OG Ultra to the Ultra 2 -really digging it, especially the double tap (running the dev beta). I store & play music on my watch at work (no phones allowed), the music app isn’t the best, that’s a whole other matter.
Anyway for no reason I can find (and tried pretty much everything) sometimes it stops playing -can happen to 10 times or more- so double tap allows me to start playing the song only using one hand, very convenient.
Sure, not a whole lot of different between the OG and the 2 but worth it for me.

You can, but it doesn’t automagically works as the primary button in an application like double tap feature does.
Always an ultra fan,, well this year's watch may not be a necessary upgrade.

I replaced my 6 with the 9. At the Apple Store when I placed the ultra on my wrist the person helping me chuckled with me and said it looked like I was wearing a TV set.

I feel the previous design much nicer than how they look now...I still have the S6 & S7 I don't like the ultra look...it's kinda ugly.
There’s really no fair comparison in the series to the ultra. I mean the user experience is far superior on the ultra in my opinion and I wore them both paired to 2 different phones one on each wrist. Yes they basically do most of the same things but there is a total difference in usability and having that massive screen as well as the battery life. I get 2-3 days depending on usage on my ultra 2. Often the series 9 looked a little off because of the super curved glass and I found myself both not being able to use a touch function because it was went into that curve or accidentally launching something for the same reason. Then there is the design. The Ultra is a far better looking watch. The negative of the ultra for me is that it is heavy and I almost didn’t keep it for that but in the end I decided to because it performs so well. My only other gripe is the raise to talk is pretty hit or miss. Often I find it doesn’t register or I have to try again and just say Siri…but yeah I don’t think the ultra and the series watches are even in the same category. Everything just seems smoother and interacting with the screen is easily as good as my iPhone 15 Pro. I found the series 9 also to be glitchy at times, especially not updating weather info. Instead just having placeholder lines instead of info. If you want a near perfect watch and don’t mind the weight, the ultra is in a league of its own.
@@J_Mayhem I would say that your opinion is of the minority. I think many would agree that the design and not to mention functionality and durability of the design is superior on the Ultra, however, many might agree that it is big and weighs too much. I would prefer a smaller version of the current design. Also, your comment that it will get better over time like the iPhone did makes no sense. The current iPhone design is much more congruent with the ultra than the series, flat edges, flat glass and they are both titanium lol. The series design is closer to the original iPhone with all the curved glass and edges and pretty outdated. I don’t predict they will change the design much but I do think it will get lighter and thinner

I got my first apple watch and got the Series 9, Cellular ... really nice. A few quirks but overall okay. The EKG thing might not be so hot and I'd like feedback if anyone has used it and compared it to a real deal test from the medical infrastructure system. Mine always says Afib issue but one time didn't.. and I am in general good health. pb
I have diagnosed Paroxysmal (intermittent) AFIB. It is accurate but definitely not as accurate as an official clinical 12 lead ECG. I have had plenty of false positives but fortunately no false negatives. When I’m in AFIB, it definitely knows. When I’m not, it can get a little confused. If you really want a portable ECG, I recommend the Kardia 6L. It has been considerably more accurate than the AW and close enough to clinical ECGs that I’m willing to trust it.
Interesting... I have been in talks with the A company and they called back today again. All I was asking is what is their test instructions... I said (do I just hang over the edged of a bed when I run the test? .. To illustrate. They wanted me to answer a lot of personal medical questions and I refused. The gal said it is their company policy ... So why don't they say how to sit or whatever and test... the instructions please. I have had all but 1 positive Afib ... I feel very good health wise. I don't trust that unless .. they cooperated. @@BurnAfter8

the Ultra is also, GPS and Cellular so, that means you'll need to start paying for another line on your cell service....am I right?
That’s only if you have a cellular plan for the watch, you don’t need a cellular plan for the apple watch to work
