Hi Dave & Helen, Pleased to see you soon settled in despite the stressful arrival 😧. A lovely and very well kept site but never had to park away from the caravan before. I can’t see an issue if you don’t have an awning but I guess it’s one rule for all. Thanks for the tour and all the best, Rob & Gail
Hi Rob & Gail, hope you’re both well. Although we knew the procedure we didn’t much like it. We store chairs in the car at night and other bits and bobs. Bit too much of a walk for us. Well kept site though. Thanks as always, cheers Dave and Helen 👍
Another great vido folks, what a lovely site really well maintained and looked after. IMG what an arrival Im not surprised yiu had a Cuder to calm your nerves lol.
Thats a sod that entrance lol.... The sites one of my favourites i did a vid ages ago the fish and chips on the lake is lovely yet not as cheap as chips lol 😂 i've had many a great days birding there too! Nice one folks! JP
Great video dave&Helen I stayed at bath marina on the edge of bath so just a 5-10 minute taxi ride but another awkward campsite to get to narrow roads with hills and a housing estate to drive through before you reach your destination 😀 managed a drive out to cheddar gorge remarkable place Cheers martin
Glad you enjoyed it. Completely agree and there are a number of great pubs near this site. Hope you're both well. Thanks for watching, Cheers, Helen & Dave
Great video, so good in fact we’ve booked for April. Also on the back of Practical Caravan mags Best Site award. Hopefully won’t make the same mistake as you on the approach to the site!
Which is why we ditched our Garmin Camper satnav and use Google Maps and Google Earth to pre plan the route. Also follow the sites directions. With a road closed follow the diversion signs, not your sat nav. Lovely site thought. Great walks in the area.
Lovely looking site. What a nightmare arrival...a bit like our journey 3 days ago in our 7.4m motorhome. Main road was closed and didn't have a clue which way to go....semi followed Satnav but ended up down some very tight country lanes....stress levels high but obviously rectified with a beer upon arrival 🍺
Yep, had a few of those over the years, scary at the time but now you can look back and smile 😊 a 🍺 remedy seems to work well though. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. ATB Dave & Helen 👍
Great vlog thanks. Awkward entrance without the added stress of a closed road! When in Zummerzzett drink ……. Ghost Ship! We’ve been there once many many years ago with a motorhome, don’t think we will return. It’s a lovely kept site but just not for us. Thanks for sharing. Andy and Kim.
We had the same issue ourselves getting into the site using the wrong road, like you, we had to turn around. Really nice site though although on the pricey side
Hello Helen and Dave, love the speeded up part, bet your blood pressure was rising lol, funny enough just watched Bob and Jenny latest video and they had problems finding there site as well, first time I have ever seen where someone else sets your caravan for you, thanks for your video, until next time take care, 👍.
Language Timothy! 🙃 Yeah, you don't need that at the end of your journey. Decent location with some nice looking pubs, we have yet to venture down that way with the caravan, but will do soon. Decent video, cheers. 🙃 ☀ 👍
Hi Kevin & Sadie (Lumsden), it put me on a bit of a downer but a couple of pints and I was on cloud 9! Lovely area just wish we had done our research better! ATB Dave and Helen 👍
Only recently discovered your channel and we are loving the way you present the videos. I'm not too impressed with this site though. Incredibly well presented and maintained, the assistance to level the caravan is a bonus, especially as it is by someone who probably know their job so well they possibly know which pitch requires what size levelling block. I wouldn't be too keen on the having to park away from the caravan though, as someone with impaired mobility I wouldn't be too eager to book here. Especially as I cannot see any mention of reasonable adjustments as expected under the equality act in their terms and conditions. I have emailed them to ask about facilities for such occasions and will report back if/when I get a response. Keep up the good work. TJ
Hi Trevor, thanks very much for your comment and supporting our channel. I agree whole heartedly with your comment, we didn’t like leaving the car at reception either. I’d be interested to know what response you get Trevor. All the best, Dave & Helen 👍
Lol, how not to arrive! We went there just after Lockdown, nice site, toilets were still closed. We had to leave our towed car in the car park, but we could park our own motorhome
Hi Bob, we always watch your vids, you’ve been everywhere and it gives us a great idea of the road in, just wasn’t expecting it to be closed! Looks like you have had a fab NI tour 👍 Cheers Dave & Helen
Thank you for a great video. I can’t see the point of a dog exercise area and having to keep them on a lead! What’s the point of that! 🤦🏼♀️ As others have said I’d prefer the convenience of having the car next to the caravan, the CAMC has strict parking rules, if this site had them then their precious grass wouldn’t be spoilt, Concierge site manages it and that looks immaculate. Mmm maybe won’t put this on my list 😂
Not one of our favourite places to visit Barbs tbh. There was a funny atmosphere amongst the staff and none of the campers seemed too happy. If it rains you’ve got a long walk to reception to get to your car too. Dog walk area? Odd! We wouldn’t go back I’m afraid which is a shame because it is well kept. Take care, Helen & Dave 👍
Couldn’t be bothered not having the car next to my van. By the looks of it some pitches are a long way from the car park. Imagine needing to go out & it’s pouring down.
I think we all have had this type of arrival lol, just adds to the adventure. Looks a nice site, but not having your car by the caravan wouldn't help Coral with the wheel chair
Hi Mark & Coral, Helen said it added to the adventure!!! I wasn’t a fan of leaving the car in a car park I must admit. We often store chairs and bulky items in the car on our pitch. Thanks for watching. Cheers Dave & Helen 👍
Hi Helen and Dave. A bit strange that you are not allowed to drive your caravan to the pitch...what do they do with motorhomes...do the tow them for you as well ?
Hi Roger, It was strange and tbh put me off a bit. Motorhomes drive themselves I found it odd that I had driven 250miles but couldn’t manage the last 100yds on my own ??
Thanks for the video. We have booked both concierge and Bath next summer! May i ask at the beginning of your videos you show a route map, is that an app you use for route planning?
Hi Shane, many thanks for watching, hope you have a lovely stay at both sites. The app is no good for route planning, purely a visual representation of our journey. It’s called Travel Boast. ATB Dave and Helen 👍
Hi there Edd, same thing happened to us until I got this Aguiri Sat Nav, never had a problem since. Here is a link to it. www.amazon.co.uk/shop/caravantastic/list/2V2N7FLJEDE2T?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d Cheers, Helen & Dave
Oh dear, since we moved to Somerset we’ve found that road closure signs are really badly placed, left around when no longer needed etc etc really poor. My husband being extra traffic police is far from impressed, especially with our narrow lanes.
Hi Sandra, my heart dropped when we saw the road closed sign and then it pounded when we hit the narrow lanes! We can look back and smile now but it was stressful! Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave. PS you live in a beautiful area 👍
I believe there may be an exception with disabled pitches. Regardless, we didn’t like leaving the car at the bottom of the site, especially when it was raining ☔️ 🌧️. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave
I wouldnt want to caravan down those lanes…and i dont like the separate parking but you do meet some clowns that can’t park sensibly their car next to their caravan..we’re disabled so walking to the car all the time isn’t great fun..
Hi there, although we were aware of the car parking arrangement, we really didn’t like it. I’m not sure if any exceptions are in place for disabled persons but it wasn’t much fun walking to the car in the rain. Really appreciate you commenting and watching the video. Thanks Dave & Helen 👍
@@HelenandDave i like the frisson between you two,so I’ve subscribed.. Thanks again Stella, much appreciated, stay tuned, Helen & Dave 👍
