      Can you suggest a shock mount for a yeti nano that isn't bigger than the mic? Like what was the one you were using in the video.

    Honestly don't really need these types of vids cuz i already have a full set but I still watch them cuz I genuinely LOVE watching you make these vids and give me inspiration like you and your channel "Hard work pays off.." I still remember like a year ago you had like 40k subs or something only(Not saying thats a few cuz thats ATLOT already) but now you have 81k(DAYUM!) thats actually 2X more subs than last year, Congrats bro! Hope you reach 100k soon!

    No! No! I have gone through THREE Blue Compass Mic Booms in tree years. Yes, it looks nice but it does not hold up. ...and I mean HOLD UP. Three of them have died after about a year. I guess the Blue Compass is fine, if you never move it up and down. The lower arms loses all it's tension. On a positive note the, The Blue Compass people replaced the first wto with no charge. When the third one died, that was it, no replacement....just slightly out of warranty. And no help from Blue Compass on clues as to how to fix the erection problem. It won't even stand up on it's own weight. I do not recommend this mic boom when you may need to move the boom often.

    It is not. 40 year radio pro here. O C White. It's the standard for pros, and has been since the beginning of radio in the 1920s.. It's a couple hundred dollars, but I've never seen one fail, and I've worked with boom arms from OC White that were over 100 years old that worked perfectly and silently, and had never been maintained. It's one of the great design successes in American history, and 100+ year old OC white light fixtures are so hip they go for thousands of dollars. All of these other boom arms are bad copies with cheap parts -- which means that they don't last. O C White started making telegraph equipment, then work lights. Saying the Blue is the best for professionals, is either disingenuous, or pretty much shows other professionals the sayer isn't a professional.

    Just got one. The middle joint simply has too much tension. This middle joint keeps "erecting" even I unscrew the tension screw completely (to the point of removing it). Also tried of course tightening the plastic screw of this middle joint to the max also doesn't suffice to keep it in place. I guess that's why even in your video the arm kept going back to a horizontal line...
    Does anyone know of a boom arm that uses dented joints instead?

    • @Wild4
      @Wild4  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont think any boom have dented joints on the knuckles because then you couldn't grab and free move it. But maybe there is one out there

  • @77pluto38

    I bought one of these like a year and a half ago and it’s not that flexible if you have a small table maybe that’s a deal breaker but it does have some screws to tighten so maybe you can work with it

    • @Wild4

      You have to loosen the bolt thats at the base end to get it to be flexible

    I didn’t know about that about the base screw for adjustments. I have this boom and it had been frustrating me. I have my boom arm mounted on a chair and leaning over the top of the chair because it kept falling down with my mic on it. The chair ended up being useful since I can easily take it between my lounge room, computer room and bedroom without having to remount it every time I decide to use the mic in different areas of my house and trying to find something to mount it on in those areas.

      @Wild4  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use a bunch of different mics on this boom arm - You just have to use the correct bolt end.

    Hey, can anyone help me and tell me the thickness of the C-clamp? I have around 1cm between my desk and the wall and this looks like i could fit perfectly.
    btw very nice quality and informative video :) keep it up!

      Its not that thick, no thicker than 1/4 inch if I had to use my best judgement.

    I actually found this at Best buy. It was packaged as the yeti caster with the mic and it came with the ring accessory as well. All for $200 . My viewers instantly noticed the difference in stream quality and were loving it.

    this video was my first impression of you, but the boom arm didnt work out well for me. I got the screw as slack as possible and it still refuses to obey me, i watched your other video too but there was more to be desired because i was still in need of help. Im in a country where it is double the cost of US purchases and this was honestly a waste as a person who isnt professional, but just wanted a clean arm. Thank you for the help though you are very nice.

    • @Wild4
      @Wild4  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a strong arm and requires weight so it can balance. You could always buy a nice cradle to add some more weight and will help with vibration.

    • @Ceejinary
      @Ceejinary 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Wild4 if you mean a shock mount I have one but I still have the screw so loose that it can fall out, yet the arm does not smoothly move or stay where I desire it to, nearly hurt my hand when it sprung back up. This video convinced me to buy it but I guess I should have read the Amazon complaints as well. It's okay though thank you I'll just sell it I don't want to get injured any further than I have been so far. And thank you for replying appreciate it
