I have been using a Blue Yeti on the base that comes in the box with it. I checked out your video and others because I am looking for a way to get the mic off the desk to make room for other necessities. The PSA1 has good reviews.
I had a blue yeti mini - I was dumb I had no clue how to install it to pc and now I have a rode nt1a and I’m downgrading back to a blue yeti blackout 😂
Thanks for this video! Do you have any videos about your acoustic panel setup? Or could you guide me on what you're using/what to purchase? Would really appreciate it!
Oh, interesting question. I'm not sure. (I haven't even heard of the Blue Yeti X.) I wish I had more info for you, but I'd look at the specs on the Rode website: www.rode.com/accessories/stands/psa1
you know the microphone has four different patterns in which it will act differently 9:00, i'd assume you are on the cardoiod mode so you'll want to always have the front where the logo is facing you
Glad you found it helpful, Travis! It was super easy to install. I was cautioned against going with anything else and a trusted source from BuzzSprout recommended this arm...so I went with it and haven't looked back! 😉
Good question. I'm naturally a "loud person" so I'd usually set my gain right in the middle and be a comfortable distance away from the mic. Not too close. Not too far. I hope that helps!
Thank you for doing this. Now that you have been using this setup for a while, what do you think about it? Did you have to get a longer USB cable for the Blue Yeti?
I did need a longer USB cable than the one that it came with. And this setup worked well for me for a while. You can watch this video to see the microphone I'm currently using: "Podcast Equipment for Beginners What I’ve Used - Behind the Scenes" th-cam.com/video/bx1rxy3eXVs/w-d-xo.html
Works well for me, my only problem is that when I screw the blue yeti on to the stand it slowly overtime will loosen up and I have to keep on tightening it. Yes I am using the gold screw nugget thing.
Well that stinks! I haven't had the issue before. I wonder if it has anything to do with handling the mic when it's connected to the stand? Maybe...? I wish I had a solution for you! 🌟
Excellent - I used your video to set up the rode psa1 and add my blue yeti to the rode psa1. Note that my blue yeti wasn't heavy enough to keep the rode psa1 from springing up - I thankfully found this video: th-cam.com/video/cM_Cl-hHZtQ/w-d-xo.html I adjusted the Rode PSA1 tension screw that's nearest the mic, and this fixed the problem. The Rode PSA1 manual is very sparse and, imo, useless (it doesn't have the detail you provide in your video and doesn't mention adjusting the tension screw when necessary).
What mic do you use with your boom arm?
@Mikendo Team do you plug your headphones wired into the yeti to have the feedback or does the cable become an issue?

i use the pogchamp mic its new
I dont have a boom arm, but im looking at getting one. this seems like a good one, thanks for the review!
What kind of table is that? I love him

Can I ask why you're switching?
@@KrystalProffitt well I don’t rlly want to pay all of my money for a scarlet interface etc and it’s way simpler and easier!😁👍

I do have one...but it's not great! 😆 And it's old. But I'll share anyway. Here you go: th-cam.com/video/HJbi7Dqz8_4/w-d-xo.html
@@KrystalProffitt Thanks, Krystal!
The blue yeti gold part, is it included in the blue yeti or in the boom arm mount?
The gold piece was included with the Rode Boom Arm 🎤
Thank you.
You're welcome!
I was wondering if that would be possible, thanks so much or this!
Happy to help!
Thanks for the detailed installation guide. It helped a lot to reveal some of the nuances.
I’m glad you found it helpful! 🌟

Does anyone know if it will hold a blue yeti X ? I been looking everywhere and I can’t find an answer
Oh, interesting question. I'm not sure. (I haven't even heard of the Blue Yeti X.) I wish I had more info for you, but I'd look at the specs on the Rode website: www.rode.com/accessories/stands/psa1

my yeti doesn't have the brass adapter or a boom arm. Which arm do you use and can you get the brass adapter separately, d you know?
This is the Rode PSA1 boom arm, which is STILL my favorite!
Dose the 5/8 adapter comes with it in the box ? (The part you screw to the bottom of your bluyeti)
Yes, everything I needed for the setup came in the box.

Yes, that's right!
I'm using the Sure SM7B but needed a better arm. I'll probably go with this one. Thanks for the video!

You’ll have to let me know what you think.
The brass thingy.. does it comne with the Rode boom arm? I have Blue Yeti X and I'm planning to buy this one...
Yes, it came with the boom arm! 😉
great video...thanks...
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the video! You made it quite easier to install.
Glad it helped! 😉
do you get the screw with it? or does it need to be bought seperatly?
Everything came in the box. I didn't have to buy any additional accessories.
Great video! Exactly what I needed to see. Do you find that you need a shock mount for this setup?
Nope, I just needed everything in the box and my mic.
You're awesome, thank you so much!
You're welcome! 🙂
Thank you so much I was so confused from the instructions lol
Glad I could help! 😉
Where did you find the brass adapter pice can you send the link or tell me what size?
Hey Ethan, That piece came with the RODE PSA1, but I imagine you could find it on Rode's website.
Great video. Thank you! One quick question: how far are you from your Blue Yeti when you do podcast? And how much gain do you use? Thanks in advance!
Good question. I'm naturally a "loud person" so I'd usually set my gain right in the middle and be a comfortable distance away from the mic. Not too close. Not too far. I hope that helps!
thx for this video really helped but quick question did the gold nut at 7:25 come with the blue yeti or the boom arm?

Hello! I just bought this arm. Is that adapter for your Blue Yeti, usable with my Blue Snowball? And is that adapter inside the box?
That's a good question. I'm not sure about ALL of the mics it's compatible with, but here are the specs: www.rode.com/accessories/psa1
Yeah it works with the blue snowball as well they have the same 5/8 to 3/8 adapter so yes it will work :)
Thx for your help
Thank you! I went through a couple of these and yours was the helpful one!
Glad it helped!
Hey Crystal new subscriber great content do you have any videos on how to set up your blue yeti for podcasting?
