Right when I think you could t get any cooler, you share this secret reality and scratch out a destination a future pilot can strive to fly into, and prove even cooler once more.
I love it here in Anchorage. Just moved up from the lower 48 4th of July. I frequent the lake on the weekends and watch all the action. Been wanting to get into aviation for years. Thanks for posting!!
Nice walk and great video. My cuzin lives by there and I told about the live channel the on the base. So I said why don't you go there and call me and I'll see ya on the cam live.. so we did that with me here in clearwater Fl filming her from off my big screen and her waving and filming at the live cam back. Ah the wonders of YT. It really is a busy place and planes everywhere. I was up there about upteen yrs ago and loved it.
Great video. Always a good walk when staying at the Lakefront/Millennium, Millennium Lakefront??? Check out the McKinley Suite! Room for lots of friends...
Thanks for the tour! I can definitely see how you got the aviation bug as a young kid. I attend a trade show in Anchorage every February, so I always make it a point to drive around Lake Hood and go for a flight when possible. Now I just need to get up there during the summer!
It’s called the lake front. By millennium or something. I call it the millennium but it’s the Lake Front Hotel. The Fancy Moose Lounge is inside. Great sweet and sour Halibut and Gwennies is just down the road for breakfast. 👍
Been there, done that, got some similar pictures, but I also got a float plane rating in my pilots license. Pretty laid back place but care is needed. In some areas the roads do double duty as taxi-ways and aircraft always have priority.
I absolutely love this style of video! All of the eye candy doesn’t hurt either.
hey Kevin
I was so nice to see you walk around the Lake Hood airport you walked right by our sons 185, thanks for the tour.
thanks for the tour Kevin never knew such a special place existed your enthusiasm is infectious

it's interesting to see it like this, I work up there in the summers. Usually by the time I get there it's thriving.
Holy smoke, so many aeroplanes. I just had a look on Google Maps. I wont bother counting..... 100's
15:46 Oh that 1955 DEHAVILLAND is just gorgeous.
Thank you for sharing! love seeing real neighborhoods in different places
Very few are better to get a walking tour of Lake Hood and Spenard than from this guy who grew up next to them!
Thanks for the tour. I can’t go through Anchorage without walking or driving around the lake. Didn’t know you had the privilege of growing up there.
Most enjoyable tour Kevin - that's a really huge area and can well imagine how it brings back many memories. Loads of planes.
Cool Kevin, thanks.
When I go to Alaska, going for a tour around Lake Hood is the first thing I'm gonna do :D
Great video. Always a good walk when staying at the Lakefront/Millennium, Millennium Lakefront??? Check out the McKinley Suite! Room for lots of friends...

Will be there in a few weeks.
Lakefront, Millennium, Regal Alaska, Clarion ... in reverse order. You look old enough to remember them all.

Hope to see you at MayDay STOL.
My favorite place to go look at planes. Can’t swing a purse without hitting a Skywagon. Be up there in 3 weeks for the gathering in Palmer
Nothing like snowbanks, sand and salt plowed right up onto your aluminum airplane and floats.
Do you think heaven looks somewhat like that?
The Lake was contaminated back when you were swimming in it.
