I've been fortunate enough to have met and flown with the daughter of Don Sheldon at the Sheldon airfield in Talkeetna. Incredible family with the greatest passion I've ever seen for aviation
45 years ago a helicopter company in Talkeetna was going to bring me on as an apprentice as I had military avionics experience and 2 years working on the assembly floor at P&WA. The company was going to support building a dam on the Sustina River but that didn’t end up happening. Ended up doing electronics and telecommunications with a lot of flights all over Alaska in different airplanes and helicopters.
Got my ppl out of that airport, Joe is the man. I’ll be starting my commercial soon back in Ak this video made me so much more excited to be back in Alaska flying
I spent time in Alaska during the summer of 2005 and loved it. As a pilot, I was amazed at seeing all the planes at Lake Hood seaplane base, one landing or taking off every few minutes. On the train ride from Anchorage to Seward, I enjoyed seeing all the plane in peoples yards. The summers can be wonderful in Alaska, however I would not want to live there in the winter, too cold for me and dark. In the summer around Fairbanks it never got dark, that was kinda cool.
@@kuhl Oh! Definitely more remote exploring and adventure. Hiking the 14’ers, Desert exploring, State/National parks, International travel, people who live off the grid, and of course extreme sports. It was really cool to see the people living the adventure.
I clicked for the planes and ended up getting totally sucked in by the cinematography/editing. Absolute gold. I am literally studying many portions frame by frame to try and get better, myself. Couldn't hit subscribe fast enough.
guys! as a swiss media designer with a focus on videos and very soon private pilot, i am absolutely impressed by your video! 🔥 all the best to you and have a lot of fun in this stunning part of the world :)
This is what we like to hear! So glad you enjoyed it. Head over to kuhl.com and check out our "new arrivals" to get a good idea of what you might be looking for.
One day I hope, I'll be there, in the pilot seat above one of the prettiest sceneries the world can offer Alaska is such a wonderful place for adventuring yourself in 'Props' to you for this short movie :)) Cheers from France 🛩
Love the video! I just did a discovery flight this weekend, bush flying has always attracted me to it. I’m at a point in my life where I think I’m ready to give this a try!!
Didn’t even know this was an ad until I finished the video and saw the end. Great video, I am wondering what song you used in the beginning of this video, I have been looking for it for years with no luck.
Thanks for the honesty - I flew Talkeetna back in te 80s, 90s - are the Hudsons still around ? I used to land at the town strip too. What engine is that old cessna ? I had a 170 and homestead and strip in Yenlo Mts.
About 15 yrs ago I was in Anchorage for a conference and I was watching the TV in the hotel room and a commercial for K2 came on. I rented a car the next day and drove the 100 miles to Talkeetna and flew up to Mt McKinley base camp. Wow. Unbelievable. I think it was $99-.
wonderful !!! great grading and the intermediate sequences with the photos are wonderfully done! Can you tell me something about the post-production? What do you work with? Awesome! except for the chromatic aberration filter which, in my opinion, could be removed.
The hovering screwdriver was one of the cooler things I’ve ever seen!
If you guys are looking for more cool bushplane content , this is the man right here ^
Can’t wait to see the new cub!
Its a skill we now are aware, is more rare than originally thought!
Not a bad idea, @TrentonPalmer should we make something together?

Such a rad film! Alaska is one of the few places in the U.S. that still feels uncharted and wild. You all crushed it on this!
Thank you so much!
Nothing is much more fun than cruising along and looking out at the magnificent beauty of Alaska
man this video really made me appreciate just how deeply rooted aviation is in my soul, it feels like a calling to fly.
We get where you are coming from. Flying is special.
