The doily measures approximately 23cm in diameter.
Materials used: Mercerized cotton yarn; sport weight, size 2.
I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla yarn.
    3.0mm crochet hook.

I actually wasn’t sure I would like a tutorial that didn’t explain things - HOWEVER - this is probably one of the best executed tutorials I’ve watched in a while. I absolutely LOVE the speed at which you show the steps, and how easy you make it for me to see where to put my crochet, how to slip stitch, etc.
    Thank you so much!

Yes! This is THE BEST!!! You write it out and show just enough of each round, but not too much. It’s perfect. This is the 2nd one I’ve completed and I haven’t even been crocheting very long either. Wonderful tutorial.

Thank you so, so much!! My grandma recently became sick and I started learning to crochet with the goal of making a doily as a gift for her. She made doilies for many family members in the past, so I wanted to offer her a gift as well... and I just completed this one!! It turned out so nice, and it was doable even for a beginner like me. So grateful for your clear instruction. I think grandma will like it a lot, and I'm so happy I have this to give to her.

Am a crochet beginner and have this doily in mind for my first project as it appears fairly doable. I like the way you hold the yarn close to the work and not with your pointer finger held stiffly - I feel your method helps with even tension.....

  • @lovebachata61

I only ended up with 15 of the 11 dc spaces somehow. I wish you would have done the step by step follow along continuously throughout the video instead of showing you doing two spaces then telling us to finish ourselves. I think that's where I messed up. Do you do any mercerized cotton thread size 10 by Red Heart doilies? That is what I used and of course I have a coaster sized doily because I used a 7/1.65 mm. hook.

I don't understand what i'm doing wrong, but i've started this doily 4 times now and get to about round 4 or 5 when i notice i have one less stitch or ch-space than you have shown here. I just. Don't understand! I count EVERY stitch you made, and every stitch i made, but i just can't get it to match up..... I tried twice with the written pattern only, and twice more with video + written pattern, i keep counting and counting and i'm always one ch-space short. I don't want to suggest there might be a mistake in the pattern, but it's starting to feel like it..... I'm so sorry.... But then i look at all the other people commenting here how they made nice doilies and the pattern was very good, i'm starting to feel like i'm just very stupid. I'm sorry and have a good day.
