I really love how the main cast of Friends have always been nothing but supportive and loving towards one another.

Matthew is helping many people by being so honest and transparent about his addiction battles. There are countless people who just die because they can't get to the core of the hurt, pain and sadness. He's doing something tremendous I believe.

I don’t know what else to say. This breaks my heart. I have struggled with addiction since I was 17. I’m now sober at 41 and have been since 2016. I grew up watching Friends. This breaks my heart. I’m in tears watching this

Which devastated our family, broke our hearts, So my heart go's out to you, be strong and dont ever be afraid to ask for help, should you ever need it, you are not alone. God bless you always 🙏❤️.

That's why their chemistry as friends was awesome and deep.
I had friend in hostel during my college days who was suffering from depression and had attempted suiside. He was saved in nick of time. After that we all friends made sure we never left him alone in his room. We took turnes to ensure that there was always one person with him. To ensure that he never overdosed in medications, we asked his parents to send medicine to us. We would personally give it to him daily as per prescribed dosage. Now that guy is settled in Australia, happily married and doesn't even remember the hell he has gone through. I am telling you, good friends make real difference. They take care of you when you need it without expecting anything in return. If you have such friends, you are truly blessed. Mathew is truly blessed.

Especially if they blame themselves for not knowing, it’s so upsetting
I think what she meant was that they didn't know how to handle it as a close friend as nobody had experience with taking care of a person with addiction. But they did know that he was addicted

It’s been said that the cast is reeling right now over Matthew’s passing. I can’t even imagine. I feel for his family in real life and his acting family. He gave us so much love while he simultaneously tried to extinguish his own pain.💔
It's surprising how Jennifer was labelled as the most arrogant among the cast all these years and according to Matthew she was the one who was there for him the most. It's just shows you that don't judge someone until you get to know them in person.

Oh please! This is not first addiction on earth. It’s a pity party. A millionaire who can afford to get proper treatment. Privately I might add. And moving forward. This moving back into past is hurting more then helping. That’s something you do with therapist. A memoir is ok, is therapeutic to write. But to go on all these shows, when there are millions of homeless with addiction s who are trying to survive everyday without therapy which is too expensive. I don’t feel sorry for these pity me celebrities. Million s of people have survived and gone on with their lives not keep harping about the past. See a private therapist or group therapy not social media

How are people currently struggling with addiction ever going to feel like that they can ask for help without judgment when recovered addicts act like it never happened? I’d turn the TV on and let Friends play in the background while working, cleaning, relaxing. It’s like they were there with me at home. Matthew Perry/Chandler, rest in peace now. You will be sorely missed.
I know off hand how hard addiction can be. My two sons have been drug addicts for going on 15 years now. I've seen some heart break. Hang in there Mathew. Every day's a struggle. Stay strong and remember to take one day at a time.
Praying for you and your family. I pray your sons can overcome their addictions and that you all can enjoy a life together again, the healthy way. May God be with you all.

Matthew Perry writing about his journey is something ive heard reccomended a lot when going through soberity and trying not to fall back. Im glad hes done it so many others who struggle can have something to relate to.
And if you are an addict reading this, know you are not alone. No matter the drug or substance there is someone who understands and will be there for you.

@@ritasnow8319 Recognising someone is going through addiction and communicating with them about their crisis is often the first step in getting them help according to medical and psychiatric websites and guides. You are clueless. It’s not required nor is it always helpful or preferable to bring a friend/co worker to private de addiction counselling. The cast staged an intervention and kept encouraging him to get healthy.
Matthew was hiding his substance abuse because he would not consume those things on set. Jennifer and others noticed he was abusing again and they said he must immediately go get professional help. Matthew said that “confrontation” was helpful and encouraging.
You are irrelevant here and so you don’t get to judge if something is helpful to someone especially when Matthew always kept telling the public his costars helped and supported him immensely, especially Jennifer. Know your place.
Matthew and others have spoken and written about the various ways they helped him. Matthew said Jennifer was always checking in on him even when the show ended for more than 20 years by calling and visiting him. That’s more than what you and many have or ever will do for someone. Your ignorance is obvious.
I love those guys man.. everything about this cast is magical. They were great on set, together and all of them seem to be good-hearted off screen as well.
RIP Matthew Perry. You are a legend now.

Beautiful, this kind of true and deep and lasting bond and care between 6 actors. Has a lot to do with the entire team, top down, but so much to do with THEM and their minds, hearts, and gratitude. I ache for this kind of bond as an actor - with other actors: people who care about you, who are yours, feeling such love and care for you, forever. That really is the fucking lottery. Happy for them. And Matthew Perry, especially, who struggled, but who always had them to lean onto. I so love watching them every year. Such comfort TV to watch them play and connect and give us such beautiful comedy for 10 seasons.

Yes, he said " it's not their fault" and that happened during the 70's, with a doctor who just gave a medication just like that....they didn't know so I agree with him it's not their fault, it's actually the doctor's fault.

I've had family with addiction...they say its a disease so i treat it like one and never use anything..its still hard to understand tho why not really fight to quit things..these storys really do sound like Horror stories..😢😢
