I lost my husband while I was nine months pregnant. I had to face that I had left because I had to prepare for a baby and I had to prioritize that baby over him. With my absence nothing could stop what I had kept at bay for a decade. The worst part was knowing what would happen. There were lots of enablers i couldn't stop! And then it did happen. Two weeks before our child was born. Our son is eleven now, and i did the right thing. But it's a hole in our hearts that will never be filled!Rest in peace, baby! I saw you when you couldn't see yourself.

@SculptExpress-gv8jp his last messages said I was the good in a terrible life. Sometimes, I think about how I've entered people's lives to bring love and peace despite the pain of watching them self-destruct. I've asked God why my love couldn't save them. That was never my job, though. My job is to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and GOD knows what I can handle. When I die, I'll know I held the lost and broken up. Even if only for a little while, they felt true love! 🥰 I'll see my love again on the other side. 😔🙏❤️

People like that have power, you can't just open your mouth if you have none, not only will you be ignored but also face harm yourself, this is money you are talking about, what trumps that in this world honestly. She could have ended up dead herself. Also, with addictions sitting in counseling trying to help someone myself it would only be said if she has a problem with what he is doing then she is the one with a co dependency problem and is the enabler and needs help and it's none of her business for having a problem with what he wants and feels he needs, a spouse or family member or assistant it is exactly what I was told myself. People that care about someone potentially hurting themselves are the ones that need to check themselves for mental health issues because they are controlling and not letting them do what they want is not their problem it's yours and it's being abusive. Yes, you read that right, I listened very carefully to that message and then decided I had to give up. Not only did it tear my family apart but I have never been forgiven for what I did by my child either for leaving. It didn't stop there, harm has been a result to me and another child later on for continued punishment. So you can now see why you say nothing, best to protect yourself. It's disappointing and sad, he was such a bright and beautiful star for the world.

Because of patients like Matthew, patients who truly have pain are being denied the medication they need. Post op patients are given inadequate pain control upon discharge home. These rich actors/musicians get all the attention for their "victimhood" as addicts. Out in the real world, most MD's won't even take you on as a patient if you have a legitimate pain problem. Doctors are already terrified of persecution. I'm older with a failed back surgery, and I can barely get aspirin. These legalistic "addict outrages" are ruining care for authentic pain patients and elderly.

You are absolutely correct. As a nurse practitioner with a degree in neuropsychology, I will tell you that in all reality most of the addicts do not get addicted due to the pain medication‘s given by their doctors. But they blame the doctors so they can remain in victim status if they admit to getting drugs from the street, they’re just a common junkie. In the meantime, people with legitimate pain are punished and suffered greatly. There are don’t punish pain rallies, but they don’t get the attention They deserve. As a pain victim myself, I know exactly what you’re going through and I wish you well.

Bashing this ex-assistant goes nowhere. She seems articulate and knowledgeable enough to comment without being attacked for anything and everything about her. Bottom-line: Matthew, being human, resigned his fight and paid for it in a way too many understand too painfully well. The people profiting from his choices always will in this world. The friends and family around him - no matter how much they loved him - couldn't 24/7 continuously monitor or save him from himself. And anyone who has ever tried to do so knows this to be true. Loved so many things about this guy... hurt to see him go. But this case is simply not a world-changer anymore than the loss of anyone (everyone), else throughout human history. Do what you can to effect change and accept what you cannot. Flawed, dammit, we're all so flawed.

Thank god they got caught. This is consistent in our healthcare system. I’m crippled by not wanting to be a nurse anymore but I don’t know what to do. I hate our healthcare system, and I want no part of it anymore.
His end was devastating to me.
I had just picked up his book a a month or so before his death.
I was so excited to follow his journey. I was so happy he spoke out and advocated for better care for addicts.
His death made me cry real tears. Not metaphorically; I cried.
I was looking to him for inspiration to curb my habits and change my health around and go to therapy…….so when he died…..I gagged.
It just all felt like a long well written inventory of his life and a final goodbye.
I’m not the type to cry for celebrities…..but he made me cry. I was so excited I took the book to work to share with addicts who were coming in with addiction related illnesses/infections.
One guy in particular who was a young vet. I thought because his age was into the tv show friends that the book would be inspirational to him too.
It shocked me to learn of his insecurities…..cause he was always my favorite on the show and in interviews.
There was much of the real Mathew in Chandler Bing.
I also thought he was so attractive.
So to learn about his insecurities was eye opening.
    .
    .
I was so gung-ho for his Instagram , and his Batman posts and his dog and new outlook on life and his mission to help.
The body gets weaker…….was my take away.
    Get help NOW.
    .
He will be missed by many for a long long time.
The show will run on syndication and new fans will be born……and they too will be heart broken over it.

    Sigh 😢

can i just say, as someone sufferring from addiction to cope with untreated bi polar, cptsd, and crippling daily anxiety and panic attacks that last hours - thankyou for actually caring and being the sadly rare person in these comments to actually be a human being. Reading these comments has made me so unbelievably unwell, its 1am, i needed to stop but i couldnt because i was so shocked at how unbelievably cruel, moronically uneducated but simultaneously cocky and self centred a large majority of the comments iv read tonight, and I got so angry i tunnel visioned. It requires willingness. Those involved have to be held accountable, as well.
