      Great to hear your health is improving. While we can not fix our kidneys, living healthy allows us to get the most out of them. All of the improvements in your health are from YOU - great job!

    James, so glad you are still doing great! I am also a Kidney Warrior. I wanted to tell you that my exercise program now includes the "Jane Fonda Be Fit" program. Since I am 59 it has really helped me significantly in a very short period of time, especially for cognitive functioning and arthritis and more energy. I also walk everywhere and take the bus, so I do get quite of bit of walking exercise. Thank you for all your help. I really like your videos.

    What time of the day is best for exercise?

    • @DADVICETV
      @DADVICETV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      After eating is helpful - but any time you can work in some exercise is great. I like it early in the day and late in the evening. The cooler air is refreshing and it helps my body digest and get my blood flowing.

      There is no one answer. It all depends on each person and how damaged their kidneys are. My approach has been to be healthier and reduce the burden placed on my kidneys. This has allowed my kidneys to better keep up with me....or me to better match what my kidneys can do. As a result my health has improved and my symptoms have done. My labs look so much better, but my kidneys are still damaged and will remain that way. The only way to know what diet and living a healthy lifestyle can do for you is to try. It's well worth it!

    I lost of lots of muscles in my arm and thighs. So how can I gain it's back.

    • @ayokay123
      @ayokay123 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're asking the right question. Muscle loss tends to accompany ckd, but unfortunately, research hasn't determined how heavy is safe for each individual let alone a particular individual. If you want to build muscle, you need to stress the muscle in order to create a higher adaptive threshold. And when you lift, you create micro-tears in the muscle that release creatinine into the system. It's the normal adaptive process. Again, what ALL of us would like to know is how much weight is safe? I've been working out for more than 40 years and my nephrologist couldn't answer the question with any sort of authority. He simply said to increase the weight slowly, which means absolutely nothing. When I told him that I do 250-300 lbs in the seated squat rack, and that I can pretty easily do 15 reps per set, he said that that was probably safe. They really don't know, and that's why dietitians like these are pretty worthless. They nearly ALWAYS lack the scientific research to back up their advice.

    I'm 31 yo and had barrettes esophagus which I treated by taking Omeprazole this is my 3yr and barrettes is gone. The only thing is symptoms are still there ,acid reflux, and I just had some lab tests done because I had high glucose in a few occasions at the er and high amount of ketones in urine two times. Right now I've experiencing pain in lower back, left shoulder blade,left rib cage, and pain in left groin and thigh, also itch all over my body. I get really thirsty which they say is a symptom of diabetes and blurry vision at times. I'm now awaiting results but I'm really worried to be honest. I have a lovely husband and we both have 5 beautiful girls. I don't want to miss out a whole lot. Our youngest is only one year old and she is also a rainbow baby. I know alot of it is my fault for not drinking more water and worry about the littlest thing. I really don't know where to begin but I'm praying and drinking more water and consuming less salt and less sugar, no box dinners, no can products. I actually have never being a person that eats too much but too little is probably worse. I'm 4'11" and weight 90lb.please anything will help. Where do I start? my results come in Monday Sept. 6th 2021. I just want to be here if possible until my youngest becomes an adult . Thank you for your time and your help. God bless

    Can a kidney patient consume cayenne pepper with turmeric

    • @DADVICETV
      @DADVICETV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure! Kidney Patients must avoid Star Fruit and greatly limit black licorice. After that it comes down to "how much" can you have in your diet. This is where a renal dietitian can be a huge help.
