    Just replaced both my Trans. cooler lines. Love how how there wasn't a single drop of trans. fluid come out of your line or the fitting. Must be magic! Also like how loose & easy your line just pops right out. There were 2 other brackets locking mine into place.

    for viewers info, carefully save the old o-rings and put in zip lock bag and take to good auto parts store and they can match them up with a new one, and or find the part # in the system, if your lucky. you can use pointed pick to remove them but dont use to install. if you damage one youll have to do it all over again, and DONT SCRATCH THE INSIDE BORE WITH PICK, or it will leak

      That was one thing I saw a lot of the mechanics on here doing. I do not know if they were doing it wrong. But would cringed a little on brass. Which is unlike aluminum but would one can keep it safe and not use metal on metal or metal on rubber o-rings?

    Thanks for your time and for doing the video. Not all of us think so. Since it looks like you have another unsatisfiedied customer. He wants you to do all the leg work. I guess free videos are not enough. Haha he is an expert since only they know the safety cap secret but that darn sku number for o-rings need not know. We all have flaws take what you need leave the rest. Spell check must not work for the experts. I am 2 years late but got my laughs for the day.

    - Aside from listing just the trans model, the video would help more ppl (and also get additional views) if you also listed make/model & year of car! Other than that... great video!

    We have the same problem with our 4t65e-hd/ series 3 3800sc in our Pontiac Fiero Why couldn’t GM just left it as a flared fitting

    • @CodytheCarGuy
      @CodytheCarGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They couldn't make any money off parts if they left it as a flare fitting. I also have a fiero a indy edition. But the engine was damaged by Hurricane Katrina so I am doing a ls swap into it later this year. You will see videos on the channel when that project kicks off.

    Cody, what's the part number on your site for that O-ring kit in this video? I need to replace mine and also replace the rubber hoses on the trans cooler lines. 2005 Buick Rendezvous CXL 3.4l front wheel drive. Thanks.

    ...is that the Input into the Transmission, aka (Return Line) from the radiator, or is that the Output from the Transmission going to the Radiator to cool the ATF fluid...? Thanks

  • @pltmann
    @pltmann 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Will these lines continue to leak fluid with the lines disconnected? I see yours didn't leak any thing. I just noticed mine is leaking and needs service. Before I do it , just want to make sure that all the fluid is not going to drain out.

  • @thadonofdetroit7679
    @thadonofdetroit7679 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Is it the same procedure if the leak is coming from the connections at the bottom of the radiator where the trans cooling lines connect?

    • @kalani1987
      @kalani1987 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would think so. Mine was leaking at the radiator, and my mechanic told me I need a whole new radiator. He didn't even think of this solution. Then again, maybe he did but wanted the $$. Lesson learned.

    Is there a part number that I can use to find these locally? I kind of need to drive my car across the country, and cannot wait for O-rings to show up a week later

      I doubt than envelope of assorted O-rings cost even $5. $7 tops. Do you buy your parts from NASA?

  • @dummkompf
    @dummkompf ปีที่แล้ว

    how much fluid will come out if you disconnect the lines without draining the trans first?

  • @MarcMercier1971
    @MarcMercier1971 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The whole fitting is $6 online or $8.50 at dealership. Then again, o-rings are cheaper and understandable.

      Front left side of the trans if your looking at it from the drivers perspective. Basically just behind the left side of the front crossmember, or another reference would be behind the front left wheel.
