Good old Hurstville,I recall many years before Club Central it was Catholic Club with $1 meals with dessert and used to go to end of day special in food court, not sure if dumpling place still open in outdoor area near cinema,I think you got good deals and looking forward for Lakemba Ramadan to come back this year, Hurstville bused to have more choices in past,Thanks
Love the challenge videos! It is super cool to find out what your budget can get you. Such a huge and delicious looking sandwich! Love any coconut flavored dessert but pineapple bread is looking really good too! Dumplings are my favorite among everything you had!
Find that Hong Kong tea, Helmi, we believe in you!!! Pork is delish but duck is just as good for us. Yes, you are missing the steamy rice, agree. but look at that chicken, Nick!! Brain freeze is the worst! We love dumplings, can you find them for under $5? That is good! We recently had dumplings and also found them a bit dry. Totally hear you.
Yay! A $20 food challenge!! Starting with a Bahn mi is the best way to start. Why you can't eat liver, Helmi? We are missing the rain guys, summer has arrived and we are burning lol
You guys did a great job with this challenge! Some legit food options here and can tell you weren't trying to jam something in just because it's cheap.
Hello, Maria and Jon here - your loyal viewers! We are hoping that you guys could do a little bit of exploring up at Carlingford Court. They’ve got a Jiggly Cake shop with amazing Jiggly Cheesecakes worth a mention, not to mention other eateries. Keep up the good work and interesting videos. See you next time…
Great video guys ! I regularly go to Hurstville for dinner...but I must say that I think it's not as good as it used to be. A few of my favourite eateries have closed recently, probably due to the pandemic. I always go to the Kings hot bread bakery for a Banh mi. Prefer Mr Chao for BBQ duck and pork. There is also a BBQ shop in the train station food court, that isn't too bad. I go to the Meridian club for a combo Chow mein. The Good Kitchen does one of the best Shan tun chickens...but it's not cheap. Love the sausage buns at Diamond bakery. There is also "Extra Crispy Chicken" down the end of Forrest Rd near the post office. I tried it once, and it's quite good. Lastly, if you're in Westfield's around 4.30/5.00p.m, the food courts start selling cheap food...Thai, Chinese, rolls, Pides etc. Yesterday I went to Cabramatta to eat. Stay well guy's ! 👍🇦🇺 Jim.
love this Jim!! We always love to hear local recommendations hehe🙏Okay Mr Chao sounds like really good BBQ place so we definitely trying it. Hope you enjoyed Cabra and stay well too :)
I am loving the $20 challenges ..The Banh mi was nice and I agree the dumpling 🥟 dough is better when it’s thinner ,The bbq was a great price and looked so yummy ..I think your should do a video on the best Chinese BBQ places ..great video ..x🥰❤️💕
Yes. You went to the best BBQ shop. Always long queue on special days. Especially on Chinese New Year , there would be at least 30+ people in the queue.
Great video guys. Confirm that Golden Sun BBQ is excellent, it's certainly my favourite. Next time try Roast Goose at Taste of Shunde. It's the best..!
I recommend Diamond Bakery particularly for their sesame or peanut nuomici plus a variety of more unique pastries like maltose/wintermelon pastries and the mooncakes. Also Spice Temple for their Sichuan dishes - twice cooked pork, stir fried beef with chili, stir fried chicken with eggplant and dry fried spicy intestines
soo after we walked down after Bakery King, we saw the Diamond Bakery! Okay will try this next time for sure :D Gosh sichuan dishes, perfect for this weather too. Thank you so much for the recommendation🙏
You guys didn’t get the chicken crunchies from King’s hot bread. It’s super cheap and delicious. Also you forgot to check the train station. They have a lot cheap eats there. Mr Chao’s have better soya sauce chicken but Golden Sun does better crispy pork belly.
Nick must really love banh mi 😂 please do one more banh mi episode 🙏 it is the best 👌 top 100 banh mi in Australia 🇦🇺 that bakery looks really authentic to Hong Kong. That's often how they look like there too. Mmmm roast duck and dumplings looked bomb need some of that for lunch 🤤
Hi Nick and Helmi I thoroughly enjoy your vlog. Please try Tornados Smokehouse in Concord on majors bay road.Chef Barzan smokes and rubs all his meats with tender loving care. His ribs are even better than anything I have had in the USA.The onion rings and buffalo wings are amazing too.
Hi Nick and Helmi, Please also try The Savoury Dining on concord road which is an all you can eat Vietnamese tapas. The manager there is Ben. My other recommendation is Threeonenine also on concord road which is a French Asian fusion restaurant owned by chef Graham.Keep up the good work.
Another great food content guys oh G banh mi again...banh mi is always been my favorite vietnamese food and the bakery has so much pastry to choose wow and the roast chicken looks really² good i wanna have some😋
@@nickandhelmi Really?! Thank you for letting me know. I was in the middle of something while watching it the 1st time. I’m watching it again without distraction this time 😃
considering the size, the pineapple bread was a good choice we think...hehe. The 5 dollars only chicken ! yes we agree with Nick! the rice will complete the meal. But still it looks amazing! Oh wow the pork dumpling ! yeah we also like juicy one but the meat looks legit!
heyyy joseph tagged you in IG post, we'll try more restaurants as u recommend too, thank you so much🙏🏼 also thanks for taking time to take picture with us hahaa.. we felt like celebrity!😂🙈
Hello Nick how r u? Long time not see u , Do u remember me who want to be ur second wife 🤣 lol 😆 happy new years u both too and hope ur family always happy 2022 💞💞
@@nickandhelmi I started with the free range chicken there, I also get crispy pork from the BBQ shop up in the station. I normally go Hurstville for YumCha at Golden Sands, or food at The Good Kitchen
My favourite spot in Hurstville is Dumpling King restaurant. They have a hand made noodles with garlic and chili which is amazing.
I with you, the Westfield car park is a nightmare mare .
The place with the duck in the windows has a great sweet and Sour Pork ready cooked.

Nice to see Kurimu expanded to Sydney too 😁 Love their choux pastry.
$5 for a quarter chicken right? Looks super juicy, so worth the price 👍🏻
I used to buy banh mi from Kings when I lived in Hurstville. I miss it so much!
Love that you've finally highlighted Hurstville.
Cant wait to go back and do another full episode Lin, so much good food in Hurstville
everywhere happens to be taken
If you're back in Hurstville try Thai Thae just north of Westfield, they do the best Thai food in the area 😋
The food looks really yummy! 💕I enjoyed the trip with you! 💕😊
The banh mi from King's Hot Bread looks really good - even if there isn't a bunch of pate. The bread is crucial and looks like they nailed it!
Great Vid Nickand Helmi

We love Ewoo, so definitely on our list🙌🏻 Carpark in Eastwood is also nightmare, we got booked by ranger once coz over only by 10mins!😑

I think the soft serve machine they use is the same brand as McDonald's. Always broken. 🤣
