I bought an Apple TV 2 w/o a remote, I watched countless videos to figure out how to control it, I eventually bought a generic Apple TV remote off of Ebay for cheap. I watched a few more videos in order to figure out how to sync it, and I can finally say that after watching this video I now have a working Apple TV remote! Thank you for your service!

Worked immediately. Light on the Apple TV blinked when I pushed buttons so I knew the batteries worked. Sincing seemed to work, but didn’t. I downloaded the iTunes remote app, and that controlled the unit. Then watched your video and unsinced the remote and it now functions like it always used to. Thanks!

My friend gave me her Apple TV without the Apple Remote, and I have an Apple TV with the Apple Remote, and her Apple Remote is still connected to her Apple TV and because of that, I can't connect my Apple Remote to hers. Tried all options :( no luck unsyncing and resyncing. Its weird because i can see the apple tv white light flashing when i make button inputs but that us aboit it 😢

You need to unpair the remote. Listen carefully ;)

@@HowToPM yup. Listened carefully. Unpaired, left arrow and home 6 secs. Nothing shown on screen. Tried multiple times and held longer still nothing. Tried right arrow and home after that just to see, obviously also didn't work. All g, it's a me problem not a you problem :) clearly worked for lots of other people here
