Je suis Malade", now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973.
This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me whiskies, l pour my blood in your body, When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was Leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in ... 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad, But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s.
At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version.
She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during is own Paris concert in January 1995. lt was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone.
Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on The 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal)is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries.

Immortal songs is the best vocal competition show in South Korea, as far as I'm concerned.
Singers compete for renditions of theme songs (sometimes it's one theme, Sometimes it's one singer, or songwriter that's even present) and they sing randomly one after the other and the audience votes for the best until the last who wins a trophy.
Amazing shows that even had Michael Bolton come (one of the best episodes ever) to name only him

This for me, is even better than their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody. And that was spectacular. You don't need to know the language, to feel the emotion. Every time I hear it, it moves me to tears.
It's a bit like on Super Vocal show in China, when Cai Chengyu and Ma Jia sang Grande Amore. Spectacular vocals. What that also showed was just how tiring singing can be. By the end Cai Chengyu was exhausted. Whereas the older Ma Jia's training meant he had more stamina. The guys in Forestella are the same.... Big belting songs and they make it look effortless.

Just to clarify the misconception in the live comments in Anthony’s screen…This is a remarkable performance in 2021 during covid 19 on the Phantom Singer ALL STARS on JTBC, a follow-up to seasons 1 to 3 of Phantom Singer where Forestella was the winner of Season 2 in 2017 and here in All Stars competed in a friendly yet competitive battle with 8 other teams. The format is different with perhaps one or two similarities to the Immortal Songs 2 competitions which are aired on KBS and which Forestella has performed in prolifically since 2018 and won sometimes too and became record holding winners of. And to also correct another live comment, at the time of this reaction by Anthony here in late 2023, Forestella were still the current record holders of an unprecedented 6 Consecutive Immortal Songs King of Kings Trophies….nobody had achieved 6 wins of this trophy IN A ROW in the show’s decades’ long history. The record run ended on 2023 when they performed an epic version of LEGENDS NEVER DIE in episodes 612/613 with the theme of the episode being The Last Song, but to the surprise of many did not survive the necessary rounds to advance, so were ineligible for the King of Kings battle for the overall winner’s trophy. They were invited to perform as guests at the opening of the King of Kings special with a congratulatory performance where they were lauded for their unbeaten 6 consecutive trophy win. The opening performance on 15/07/2023 was a cover version of DESPACITO which previously had only been performed by Bae Doohoon (far right) at his solo fan events, but the group’s brilliant Forestellarised version as of 31/03/2024 reached 7.5 million views on TH-cam . It became another favourite on the remainder of their 2023 National concert tour and circuit.

They are awsome but I suggest you react to Lara Fabian version. For me she's even more emotive.
I have checked Lara Fabian's version and she is awesome but be honest I like these guys better. They don't speak French (while Lara speaks) so for Forestella, it's harder for them to perform this superb level.
