I hear "two kids in a disney film, one of whom has a mother and the other of whom has a father" and think "Oh, cool. When do their parents hook up?"
I hear that and I think "So when's the mom going to die?"
11 years later and I still want to know the backstory of that cross-dressing madman with pantyhose on his head robbing a thrift store.
Gordy: Father I found you.
Father: That nice how the family?
Gordy: Oh I forgot about them. They were taken to somewhere
Father: I gave you one job. One job Gordy.
Evilworld they were sacrificed to the Oscar god of Meyer!
Actually Babe was based on a book written by Dick King Smith called The Sheep Pig which was published in 1983. So while Gordy was the first movie released, Babe is based on a book which predates Gordy.
So it ripped off the the book which later became babe. Meaning it still kinda ripped off babe.
Something kinda similar happened with Carnosaur, it came out the year as Jurassic Park and was inspired by it(and also based on a book) but thanks to a quick shooting schedule it actually came out first.
Also Babe and Gordy were released the same year 1995 so you can't call either film a rip-off.
Well, it came out in 1994 in Tucson as a test screening

I love how in the drowning scene, even though there was nobody around but Gordy, the boy, and the girl, a news crew apparently had time to learn of the story, pack up their van, travel however far to the scene, and set up their equipment to film the event.

Teddy Underhill my bad. Plus they think they're going against the flow by saying it sucks. In reality they are changing the flow.
Teddy Underhill Also i know Frozen has flaws. The pacing can be off at times, the song Fixer Upper is a Big Lipped Alligator moment (Although i think the creators knew this and had thrown it in just to poke fun at the old Disney stereotypes) and Hans's reveal as the bad guy i found to come completely right out of nowhere, Do these flaws diminish the film. In someone else's mind probably but for me know. I still love this movie, though since HTTYD 2 came out it has lost it's number one spot as my favourite Animated film. But still follows a close second.
The problem i have with people saying it's bad is not the criticism. It's the fact that they belittle and insult those people who like the film and think that hating it will make them better human beings. What's worse is that they also draw in the "Knight Templar" crowd. You know those people who defend them saying that they have the right to express their opinion. They do of course however that doesn't mean to treat those people who like the films any less. I will not backdown from a well thought out debate. But petty insults and hollow threats aren't seen as intimidating. They're just asking to be smacked down.
Actually, Gordy and Babe came out the same year, and Babe was an adaptation of a book, so most likely the producers of Gordy heard that an adaptation of the book was being made, so they rushed to make their own talking-pig movie first

i found out the reason why most Disney characters don't have mom's, Walt lost his at a young age, he thought he'd try and connect with some some of his characters that way not that he hates moms he just wasn't able to know his so it must of been really hard on him seeing as most kids have both parents. It's hard to lose those you care about the most.

I know this comment is years old but this is all false, both of Walt’s parents died when he was in his late 30s early 40s. He had a decent (for the time period) childhood and he was very close with this family.

Gordy actually came out in 1994, not worldwide but in Tucson, AZ. I watched it a whole lot on VHS. I’m in Arizona myself, and I say it’s a good movie.
I actually kinda like "Pig Power in the House" and if a song like "What Does the Fox Say?" can become as popular as it did, I believe Pig Power can too.

Actually I just had a thought - wouldn't it have been funny too to have them keep the wide-angle lens for Gordy's shots but have him win anyway, since wide-angle lenses make animals look even cuter? Hell, South Park had a whole running joke about that very concept in one episode.

I'm here cuz Todd in the Shadows after all this time covered Tag Team on OHW. Todd totally didn't give Pig Power the meme cred it deserves. That edit is supposed to show him imagining the pig getting shipped far, far away, with the montage of mail vehicles representing what he's imagining.They hold on his face and extend the shot for comedic emphasis. The aura/glow that appears around him is because the people who made the movie were trying to key out the area around his face for that cross fade. They didn't want to go through the work of coloring in the frame around his mullet-perm, so they left in the yellow wall, accidentally creating the drop shadow/glow effect you see before you.
