Great tones & playing Mr. Lane! I suspect an AC-30 is on more Led Zeppelin tracks than we know. There seems to be good evidence that Page tracked most of ITTOD with the B-bender Tele + AC-30 (with the exceptions of the Strat on "In The Evening", and "I'm Gonna Crawl", which sounds a lot like the LP + Marshall tones of Presence); same goes for both records by The Firm. Blackmore is said to have favored them in the studio. Brian May goes without saying! Then you've got Rory Gallagher, The Edge, Peter Buck, and I'm leaving out too many more. "One of the amps of all time" - truly.
This, at last is the first time in my playing life I've seen/heard a demo of any amp in fact that anyone has ever demonstrated any instrument without "Screaming" overdrive and playing ridiculously fast lics!! I've used only Vox AC30's since the early 60s! You did a fabulous demo and I can understand your passion and your desire to be buried with yours!!! Write it in your will!!! PS, for a young fella, your a super player with a super sound!!! I'm a Strat man and also have the same passion for my Strat!!!
One way to get buried with it real fast is to crank it up to 11 at 3am with the window open and it facing the window. I tried that with my AC15 at 2pm and my neighbor slammed her window with fierce intensity and hate. She wasn't a Vox lover so she moved. Now the new people have a kid playing trumpet, so let the battle begin!
Why are the controls upside down? Were they made specifically for live shows, where a tech could be behind the amp and be facing the controls the right way? My buddy has a Mesa Transatlantic that gets amazing Vox tones, among others, but it also has this "upside down" control scheme.
great question! its not so much they're upside down, just that the panel is flipped altogether compared to a traditional fender or marshall amp. it's because they were designed at a time where many players placed their amps in front of them, or at the very least beside them. or that was the intetntion at lest; that you'd be more often looking at the controls from the back side of the amp instead of the front.
The UK made AC30/6 tb and tbx amps are definitely some of the best sounding Vox amps made since the 60's. Great demo.

It's the best amp in the world. I wish I discovered them sooner. Louder than you would imagine and can handle anything you throw at it!
