Ah Yes Colossal Dreadmaw, the once great Modern Staple. Poor thing got power crept out of even limited formats and no one talks about it.
Primeval Titan is just Colossal Dreadmaw with marginal upside, change my mind.

Modern is a 1 year format now. Marvel and final fantasy will end up being as impactful as mh3.

Modern has never been an eternal format. The only eternal formats are commander and it's variants, vintage, legacy, and pauper as they are the format that go all the way back to alpha.
@BoltTheEmolga I hear you. I think I am right about this because marvel is a "tent pole" set, meaning it's the same as the Lord of the rings. It's a full draft set and meant to be made and sold for an extended period of time. That's why I think the power level will be just as high and have the same impact as lord of the rings. Final fantasy? No evidence there, I'm just pessimistic.
@@Hapkins-le6xfAbsolutely, yeah, the Marvel set is going to be pushed as hell. The only saving grace is there isn't as likely to be a central card like The One Ring that both (a) has to be maximally pushed to be exciting and (b) absolutely cannot be banned.
Wotc own power creep cards has now been power creeped. Seasoned pyromancer as well

Even Urza's Saga isn't played much anymore. That's a card I thought would last forever. Modern was my favorite format forever, but I can't keep spending hundreds of dollars on new stuff just to keep up with the format. I still like modern, but the decks I brew up and build go from playable to not very playable every time a new non-standard, modern legal set comes out....
Sold them over a month ago with my whole modern collection. I'm so relieved.
The deck i think was hurt the most over the past added sets is Hammertime. Literally gone for ever.

Wrenn and Six got hurt from Fury ban, but not because it was able to be pitched. It was because Fury + Solitude is enough to slow games down where W&S can actually do its thing. Another aspect is that the primary "Rock" deck is either Boros or Mardu and neither of them can play W&S and it is not worth splashing for since those decks are in general pretty fast for being a classic "mythic pile"
Why even play creatures with escape, if you don't use the ability? Especially with Phlage you can save money by playing lightning helix instead.

It's so sad with wrenn and ragavan and such sometimes because they are super fun, and super worth playing (asking as their legal) but their price means u ain't just gonna build a cheap ragavan brew or wrenn brew and bring to fnm.
When the metas more friendly, they'll ofc come back, but it's a shame that they aren't budgetable yet

@C42ST3N AC isn't on the same level as marvel. Marvel is a full draft set like lord of the rings and lord of the rings completely altered the modern meta.
You can look it up. Or you can keep having an attitude. Your choice.
Raganvan will possibly replace dockside in commander. Maybe.
Most of my friends moved on to a less expensive format legacy
W6 isnt play because it is traditanally in 4c soup piles. 4c soup piles are terrible vs ruby storm tron and eldrazi decks titan deck and living end its only decent matchups in the top 10 played deck in the meta is frogtide and maybe the boros or mardu energy so when you home for a deck is ass vs the top of the meta you dont get played its not a shock that w6 is no where to be seen and if the meta shifts w6 could cone back
Endurance is one of the best designed magic card of all time. I love me an endurance

Jeskai Control might use the energy removal package, but to lump it in with Mardu and Boros Energy is a pretty big stretch. And you REALLY want TOR banned, don't you? To try and blame TOR for Wrenn's low numbers, without taking an honest look at the actual shifts within the meta itself, is a laughably bad take.
Do you not think TOR is a problem?
Random rules question:
If i have underworld dreams on the field, and my opponent plays a The One Ring - taps to put a burden counter on it and draw a card.
My opponent DOES NOT take damage from underworld dreams due to the protection from everything, correct?
Or do they take the damage because Underworlds dreams is a non-targeted ability?
I think prevention prevents damage, and underworld dreams deals damage????

They don't take the damage cause when one ring enters the protection takes effect. Would this be a casting trigger the deal would be totally different. So basically protection from everything is what it says.
@@2rare2die26 Yep, damage and not loss of life. It is non-targeting though.

WHAT IF underworld dreams made target opponent "lose life" - in that instance, the one ring WOULD NOT prevent that loss of life, correct?
@@bluerendar2194 like how a phyrexian crusader CANNOT be killed by damage from an anger of the gods, but it CAN be killed by a Wrath of God
